Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit, so be careful how we maintain it. As a Christian, it is very hard to fight the temptation of the flesh, the world is ever before us. But we must be that light that shines for the lost to see. The journey will not be easy and Jesus knows that we have to stay in prayer and learn how to deny self, keep our hearts and MINDS pure, whatsoever we think, that we will be. Never allow yourself to be in a position you are unable to handle but also understand, God will not allow temptation to come upon us unless He has a way of escape. God bless, stay strong in the Lord. What if there’s no heaven just black and darkness and you’re wasting time not enjoying the flesh. I swear y’all just wanna better than other people. Objectively an old ass book not written by god. “I’m gonna guide us” I used to cry I’m my room at 5 because I didn’t believe in god and my family was incredibly Christian. This religion is dangerous and harmful to so many. Fuck this privileged fucking bullshit purity advice.

@@shaylynsmith4825, what if there is a heaven and what if there is a loving God, then I gain it all? But what if there is no heaven and what if there is no loving God, I don't lose nothing? But if there is a God (and there is) and there is His kingdom hidden behind the dark clouds and you reject Him, as sure as there is a heaven, there is a hell, you will lose it all. For where will the righteous go and where will evil be, will it ever cease? I do not trust in a religion or a God I cannot see but I trust in a living God who made Himself known to ME! It doesn't matter if you believe the Bible or believe in what I am saying, your disbelieve doesn't void out what is true, God doesn't have to prove anything to anybody, He is God, come to Him freely. If you find it hard to believe in God, ask Him to make Himself known to you for it is His desire that NO man should perish. I was brought up in a church all of my life and I believed in God because mommy, grandmother, and the church said so. I was taught to read the Bible early, but one day God showed Himself to me. I was in an accident if you want to call it that, I had been traveling from MS to GA where my husband was station at Ft. Benning, and just as I made it to the city limits, tired and very sleepy from the long drive, I saw a four-way stop just up ahead but somehow as I approached the intersection, I dozed off to sleep and when my eyes opened, I hadn't stopped at the stop sign but was now in the middle of the intersection going under an eighteen-wheeler truck right in front of me. I was to close to the truck to stop and going to fast to slow down, I was literally going underneath the truck when something strange happened. Everything went completely dark, "God said He hid His glory in the thick darkness" I could no longer see me in my car or the truck in front of me and as soon as it happened, I heard a voice say to me as calmly as possible, "Turn your wheel to the right." I saw no one only heard the voice, to make this as short as possible, the voice had to repeat those words to me at least three times before I could respond, although I couldn't see Him I could hear Him, I was frozen in fear, then I cried out, "I hear You but I am frozen in fear, I cannot move." Then I saw hands cover my hands on the steering wheel and begin to turn the car, I could not see it happening only feel it playing out, I could literally feel my car turning but couldn't see. Then my eyes were made to open and when it did, I was on the other side of the intersection completely off the road safely on the shoulders with my car, in park. I sat there for a minute in complete awe as to what had just happened, after a while I turned back to look and the truck was still in the intersection just clearing it. I understood that was impossible, for I could not be where I am and he still there, and how did I get to here? What happened to me that day was a divine intervention from God, know Bible or religion taught me this, I saw HIs hands for myself. And this isn't the only time God has shown Himself to me, even so much so that I wrote a book about each one and titled it "CHOSEN" (sold online at Amazon). I pray the God of peace will show you His glory before it's everlasting too late, seek Him while He may yet be found!

I used to have a lot of sex. I started very young and would have sex with any girl who wanted to be with me. I used to have multiple relationships at the same time and cheated on every girl I was with. But been single for ten years. It has been the best thing I have ever done. I wish I could have done this sooner in life. Looking around I see that it is not normal to not date. Or at least want to. Not a lot of men will turn down an opportunity for sex. But I have learned to avoid completely women who do not know themselves and know that they can wait on the Lord. I am not looking for a 'next' girl. I want her to want me. But serving the lord first is the sexiest thing there is. As for the respect. I recently met a girl who is over 30 and a virgin. But she wanted to talk dirty and 'tease' men. Her heart was corrupted to the point that I couldn't respect her. You are not where you've been. But you are what you do.

What about not hugging, kissing, or holding hands before marriage? I’m weird in that I think love is entirely a choice so I don’t think doing anything that I wouldn’t be fine with another guy doing to my wife is okay. If I don’t marry this girl it’s another mans wife so I want to keep her as pure as I can for whoever that will be and for herself to give her husband all she might want to. Thanks!

True but with some of these things all they don't cause sex they promote lusting and unpure thoughts. That's another thing to consider but affection is still important

Interesting points. Just to be clear, do you believe that premarital sex should be a crime under civil law, or it more of just a moral issue for you that is between believers and God? I'm an agnostic myself, but I'm familiar with the Bible, and from what I can tell, there is most certainly nothing in the New Testament that says that people who engage in premarital sex are to be punished here on earth for it. There are Christians I know who believe in making laws about that, though plenty of Christians don't and just consider it to be a moral issue. As for my opinion on whether the Bible considers premarital sex a sin, I personally don't think it does, but feel free to share your perspective on whether my point is valid. My point isn't to change your personal beliefs. It's just to get an opinion from someone who has a different interpretation and see if they think I have a valid point. Anyway, the main reason I don't think premarital sex is inherently sinful is that there's nothing about it in the Ten Commandment. There is a Commandment against adultery, but as you probably know, adultery implies that at least one of the people is married and is basically cheating on their spouse. It's also true that in the Old Testament, there were guideline about men engaging in sexual activity with certain women having to get married or pay some price to a male relative who who their guardian, but those particular women were virgins who were under the guardianship of their father or some other male relative. Mosaic Law saw those women as particularly valuable in the sexual marketplace and they were basically the property of either their male guardian or their husband. Men and women were allowed to engage in premarital sex, but there was a price if the women in question were virgins and living under the care of a male guardian. Under Jewish/Mosaic Law, which is the law the Jesus follow, premarital sex wasn't inherently a crime, though they may have seen sex within marriage as being generally preferable Adultery was a crime though because it was seen as one man basically taking another man's property. The New Testament, on the other hand, does have some verses that could interpreted as condemning premarital sex, depending on which translation of the Bible you use. I personally like to look at the Codex Sinaiticus, which in Greek and is the original version of the New Testament that all of its translations are based on. One of the verses in question is 1 Corinthians 6:9, which, in the original Greek text, says "Í ouk oídate óti ádikoi theoú vasileían ou klironomísousin? mí planásthe: oúte pórnoi oúte eidololátrai oúte moichoí oúte malakoí oúte arsenokoítai ..." In your Bible, the verse probably says something like "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, ...". "Fornicators" and "fornication" are both terms that are found is several parts of the New Testament, and some translations replace those terms with "the sexually immoral" and "sexual immorality". In 1 Corinthians 6:9, the word "fornicators" is translated from the Greek word "pórnoi", which is the masculine plural form of the Greek word "porneía". The word "porneía" though is the Greek word for "prostitution", which is specifically sex in exchange for payment. In 1 Corinthians 6:9, since the word "pórnoi" is masculine and is plural, "gigolos" would probably be a more accurate English translation of it in that verse. The New Testament also has verses the speak negatively of "porneía", so protitution in general is obviously condemned in the Bible. In the context of Greco-Roman culture, it makes sense the prostitution would be what is being condemn since the Pagans in those communities had brothels and such were both men and women worked as prostitutes and prostitution was also something Pagans used as a means of worshipping the fertility gods and fertility goddesses they believed in. So those are the reasons I don't think the Bible shows that premarital sex is inherently sinful, but I respect if you have a different interpretation.

Sexual immorality. That is where sex before marriage falls under and the bible is clear at saying that they won't make it to heaven without repenting. Regarding the civil law part, God gave us free will this doesn't mean as humans we do not abuse it but we tell people what is sinful and remind them if they choose to ignore both times we pray for them and move on. Making it a law takes away that free choice given by God obviously, which we have no right to do.

@@faoink Fair enough. If you're interested, I have a somewhat unconventional interpretation of what The Bible says about this subject. Feel free to let me know if it makes sense to you. So basically, in all the verse that mention sexual immorality, the Greek word that that's translated from is porneia, which generally refers to prostitution, though it can also just mean to sell oneself in some way or another. There are some verses in The Bible that use it in a context where I think they might be referring not even to prostitution, but rather, selling oneself in the sense of following the rules a false god. While that doesn't refer to selling in a monetary sense, one could possibly argue that that's technically selling oneself in the sense that they are serving a false deity in favor of the one true deity. Some verses also translate porneia as "fornication", which doesn't refer to premarital sexual activity, although I recently learn that fornication is a word that originally referred exclusively to prostitution. The root of that word is "fornix" which technically refers to an arch, but is also a slang reference to a brothel.
