That's another one of the locks that I got from a colleague who was in Australia recently (it's model 110/40). This Lockwood is a fun pick and although not too difficult it is very nicely build. It's even less expensive than the terrible Master lock that I compare to the Lockwood at the end of this video. Have fun.

Very Nice little lock there… I was surprised that there were spools in a $10 lock 🤪 Thanks for sharing this fun video!

Nicely done! I wish they sold these locks outside of Australia.

Yes, would be nice to get them here as well. But you more likely get a Master ;-)

Even though you can't get them outside of Aus there are Aussie's in the community that want international locks 😊🍻🔓😉

Great picking out of the package and great vid again buddy, very cool lockwood there, looks like it´s a basic padlock and has great tolerances that master don´t have even in its high range products, nice info, thanks for showing ;o))

Nice lock. I was expecting tapered pins.
@Potti314
@Potti314 6 лет назад
Yes, I also thought to have to fight with tapered pins - probably I'll find them in the 334B45 which is still in it's package ;-)
@Ghorda9

@@Potti314 lockwoods don't use tapered pins anymore, just deep and shallow spools.

Very nice Lockwood. Master Lock would loose business fast, if Lockwood sold over here for cheaper than them.
@Potti314
@Potti314 6 лет назад
Lockwoods are probably not the best locks in the world but they appear very well made and not too expensive. But Master Lock company has a very good marketing and can sell bad locks for good money.

You can buy Lockwood padlocks on eBay. Not sure how many of the Australian sellers will ship overseas but postage is very low compared to vice versa (I found something on eBay the other day that was from the US and priced at less that $10. But shipping was over $70!!! Not sure why they insist on only offering express delivery with FedEx or whatever when I know that USPS is a lot cheaper. That must really be killing their international business).

Master maybe prices on size, not quality. Nice video buddy. 🍺😎🇦🇺
@Potti314
@Potti314 6 лет назад
Very true - for them only size seems to matter ;-)
@gary_rumain_you_peons
@gary_rumain_you_peons 6 лет назад
Er, your receipt was from Australia where the Lockwood is locally produced but the Master lock is imported. Of course it would be more expensive. I just found someone on eBay in Sydney selling a larger Master padlock for over $100 AUD where the same model can be had from the US for far less.

Gary Rumain everything here is expensive.😣

I know but he would have paid the GST too. Unless you have an ABN or buy from overseas.

Nice pick. As an amateur i have spent literally hours trying to pick this lock and you pick it in 30 seconds. Any advice? I know these locks have one standard pin and four spool pins.
@Potti314
@Potti314 5 лет назад
Well, yours might have a more challenging bitting... Lockwoods have shallow spools, so try not to overset them when setting them (lighter tension and less pick fore in the process of counter rotation). Try a deeper hock, as you might overset pins before setting shorter keypins in the back. Try a different picking order: back to front versus front to back. When picking, you can cheat by shaking the lock and listen to the free bouncing key pins. If the you hear less pins at some time, you're in an overset state. Maybe clamp it in a vice for training of a more precise picking. Check the bitting in advance before starting your picking session and try to match the pin height with what you feel. Some arbitrary tips - hope it help :-) Cheers and happy picking.

i think Master lock could add much more security to their locks with out adding to much cost to the manufacturing of the lock. like i always said "they just keep the honest people out."
@Potti314
@Potti314 6 лет назад
I believe Master Locks makes really good money with their locks when you consider der price versus quality. That seems to be their business model, including an aggressive marketing.
