Is the Lymnophylla also known as by the more common name being 'Guppy Grass'? I really love the shape/texture it adds to your finished product. Awesome Job.
I am currently obsessed with this idea and am totally going to do this when i finally get into a new house. If buying all the plants and rocks and things, does anyone have any idea how much it costs to set up?
How long does the nutrients in the soil last? Does adding animals like shrimp or small fish make the plants survive longer by providing their own waste used as plant nutrients?
what will happen if you air tight sealed the pickle jar? I can't any more moisture in the house as my house will turn mouldy on the doors and walls. Thanks
What do you suggest doing when there are just too many baby snails? If you dont have another tank to move them to, do they just die off?? Haha sounds morbid but I wouldnt want it to be overcrowded
Yeah their population will fluctuate as food for them goes up and down. As algae grows, their population goes up, they eat it all the population goes down. It's nothing to stress over and u don't need to try and intercede in any way.
For the de-chloinated water, would distilled water be okay? Or perhaps spring or purified water? I hate having to use tap water and use a conditioner treatment for my small tank
@@jc05177 I'm still new to plants and am still a beginner on I only have two 5g tanks only one has bamboo and sand as substrate and I use tabs every 3 months, the other is a small pebble substrate with river rock larger pebbles.. so my question is what kind of dirt is used for substrate?
