Unless you have a bride who can't articulate what she wants and doesn't even know what she wants other than that it has to be something unique. The consultant isn't a psychic or a mind reader.

She wore a completely different dress. It had a low back, kind of reminded me of a Jane Austen style dress...I don't know how to describe it. It had beading. Her grandpa walked her down the aisle.

Chances are that she would have ordered a dress and not like it once it was on. That is what happened with all of the other ones that she came in looking for. If I were her seamstress, I'd be really scared of her.

You would, too, if you'd had to be doing take after take after take for over 8 hours! It's nothing but a highly scripted bunch of junk made to convince gullible viewers that it's all real. Numerous videos have been made about the whole bridal industry and it's very dishonest way of shooting the shows so that it appears that the entourages are large, and/or that they're fighting, amongst all the other lies they incorporate into the "reality" genre of entertainment.

The narrator is a man, likely just following a script (none of this is unrehearsed). He wouldn't know a drop waist from a mermaid from a ball gown.

mine cost under $3k including $2k for rings, and i had a custom dress. at ~$300, the off-the-rack suit my partner wore cost more than twice my dress, too (i'm small and created a simple, streamlined design in cotton fabric that a sweet, amazing thai seamstress made for me, and i gave her more money than she even asked for because her work was flawless! ). my precious mama was ill, so, to make it as easy as possible for my folks, we had the reception at our house and catered vegan food ourselves for the ~10 of us.

Hoping and thinking you will have the best marriage. She seems too immature and indecisive to get married.

Sometimes fabric and how a dress is cut and put together can make a dress very expensive. It's not all about beading and bling.

Good. Not good to "settle for less" than what she wanted. Hope she didn't lose a bunch of money. With her great figure & a roomful of dresses, she needed a different sales person!

They're all following the instructions of the director who is controlling everything when there's a camera crew in the store (which is not all the time). Everyone is stuck with what the producer and the director tell them to do, and nothing is natural. Many videos have been made about the "Kleinfeld experience," including one that was made earlier this week. There's nothing at all real about reality tv, and the bridal genre of shows is the least honest about what viewers are seeing. House shows are the second most dishonest ones, but are catching up quickly.

I think part of the stress is because of the high budget for the dress . If they were spending 1500 instead of 10k then they might be less picky and just go with what they thought looked best . But since they put such a high budget even if you like something that is not enough. They start thinking there should be something more for the amount they are paying.

@@L.Spencer What I was referring to was I wish they would of shown us the dress she agreed to buy once it was finished. Like have her to come in to fitting and try the dress on so we could see the finished dress. Like they have done on here before.

@@beccac6451 But she wore another dress to her wedding. So the dress they were talking about on the show most likely never got made. They dont show us everything. She probably put down some deposit but then changed her mind and based on the comments ended up getting a cheaper dress somewhere else.

But if she went custom, she wouldn’t have been on the show… I think a lot of brides who go on SYTTD are in it for personal publicity, and the show itself tries to find brides who people will either love or hate, not average folks.

Could HAVE seen. "Could've" is short for COULD HAVE, not the 100% improper "could of."

It's all done by appointment. They have a set time and you have to squeeze in as many dresses as you can into your appt time.

It is because they have a time limit which is why it is stressful for them and the consultants.

This said, I would take that 10K dress budget, fly over to the UK and pay a visit to Jo and Allison's lovely shop (featured in the UK version of SYTTD). They have a knack for hearing what a bride wants, and they specialize in curvy/plus size brides anyway. Plus it would give me the perfect reason to travel to the UK. 😅😁

The way I see it is, if you're going to go for a traditional wedding dress (as opposed to just wearing a skirt and blouse, like I'm thinking), you want a dress that is flattering, it feels good to wear it (too much bling can weigh a dress down, for example), and it makes you feel amazing even if it's just for one day. And the bride did say she was a strongly visual person. She knew what she wanted in her mind's eye, but perhaps didn't quite know how to verbally express it in a way that the consultants understood. Bring in Pnina Tournay and she had another visual person to talk to. Seems to me the consultant wasn't truly listening to what the bride was attempting to convey, anyway. If it were me, on hearing, from the get-go, that the bride was so visually oriented, I would have skipped the whole rigamarole, brought in Pnina, given the bride a sketchbook as well, and let the bride and designer talk wedding day stuff to their heart's content. I know that's not the point of the show, but if the bride has that much to spend...🤷‍♀️
