Fishing for Cod from my local pier at night.
Conditions weren't looking to good for cod fishing when I checked the weather and tide apps but I still decided to go out and give it a try to see if I could catch one to cook..
Using a mixture of baits including; Cart wing, Mussel, Black Lug Worm and Squid. It was slow going but I managed to catch a couple of fish and one that was big enough to keep.

Coastal cod, have become so much smaller over the last 20 years. Such a shame. Over fished in open waters. Nice fish though. 👍

Thanks mate 👍 its a piece of plastic tubing cut down the side with two nails through it coated in plastic its handy for railings when you dont want to take a rod stand..... You to mate stay safe.

Thanks, I usually prefer to use a multiplier but I wanted to use braid so I've been using the fixed spool for my last few trips out.

Thanks Andy. Yes you can still park at the bottom of the pier, the big carpark is open until 1am now or you can park in the first little carpark if your stopping later than that.
