Some people say “this is how we remember games when we were kids” when there’s like a faithful remaster or remake of a game, but this is a rare case where the insane added difficulty is what sparks my nostalgia of the caves™️ experience
Whenever there was an extremely difficult floor in Pikmin 2, like it's just a billion dwarf bulborbs or 20 cannon larvae, I would just leave the Pikmin at the start and go punch them myself. There's no timer in caves so there's nothing stopping me and Louie (or the President) from just slowly-but-surely killing every enemy. And then none of my Pikmin died. These days though I don't think I have that patience, or even that free time.
I used leave my Pikmin to lead the cannon balls from the cannon larvae into other creatures. And of course punch them. It's nice self defence is not only possible but can also be upgraded.
I love this series! I feel like it captures the spirit of playing through the game for the first time blind. Every single poko is paid for in pikmin and sprays. Waves of native wildlife being smashed through with a mutant plant battering ram. It’s great to watch!
I must admit that seeing your two captains 🤏🏼 close to death all this time is really, really stressful lmao Nothing compared to the baby bulborbs tho. What a nightmare…

I've been on a huge Pikmin spree recently and I've been binging this series after I found you through your enemy tier list. It's really entertaining! And not just because of all the suffering
It would have been cool if they decided to put the suits in Pikmin 3 in this game… because it’s *IMPOSSIBLE* to die in that game. But seeing all the hazards in this one really does deserve element protection.
@@mustacheman529 oh yeah, I’ve never played Pikmin 2 before.. I just started weeks ago since I never had the GameCube around anymore.. but I’m still trying to beat this game :(
I know I'm late but you don't actually need your pikmin on you to go down floors. As long as the pikmin aren't buried, a captain with zero pikmin can interact with the hole and all pikmin will still follow you
I’m starting to think the guy who made this hack doesn’t really understand how Pikmin 2 works on a fundamental level. There’s just levels of nothing but enemy spam with no treasure, which begs the question: why have them in the first place? It just seems like a waste, unless you only have one captain.
late to the party but, you shouldnt need pikmin to progress floors, just dismiss em in a corner and rush the hole with the captain and theyll follow you in
