The shot of the house has me SO excited. First, because I was really hoping we would be able to enter the house at some point in the game, and second, because of it confirming rocks for story mode which means all the others will most likely be in as well. And I agree, we're probably not getting a final type unless it's a secret type like Bulbmin, but I'm 100% okay with that in exchange for all previous types being in story mode. Eight types is a lot, and will be the most there's ever been in story mode in a Pikmin game
I'm right there with you - the most we've dealt with is six, and one of them was bulbmin so they only sort of count. If they feel they can only balance eight atm, that's TOTALLY fine
I’m hoping that the 2 player mode shown is 1 of 2 types of multiplayer, with the other being each player controlling their own captain (captain toad: treasure tracker also has 2 types of multiplayer). Unreal engine was used to make “the world’s most realistic looking game”, so Pikmin 4 is going to be quite stunning graphically.
I think Pikmin 4 using Unreal Engine is some of the biggest news. Not just for Pikmin, but Nintendo fans as well. In the recent years, video game consoles have been more interoperable with each other and PC as well. I think Nintendo is planning on doing the same thing maybe for their new console.
That’s funny. Nintendo is prob just using the engine and won’t port it to PC, they are pretty protective of their games sticking to their controlled systems. Although, data miners can prob port it a lot easier tho
The reason Oatchi looks big in the house is absolutely because of perspective. He’s on a table. Looking at the couch you can see that it’s cut off. Knowing we’re getting a level inside of a house is more exciting to me than ANYTHING else they’ve shown besides maybe the return of caves or night mode. I am absolutely ECSTATIC!!!
A level inside the house kinda ruins the immersion a lot for me. Shouldn't it at least look a bit ruined for a post-apocalyptic game? And if you tell me it's not post-apocalyptic then that's even worse
@@PhantomOfficial07 I think that’s the direction they’re taking, that humans are still alive. It’s never been confirmed that humans are dead, quite frankly there’s a lot more evidence that they’re alive. I do agree that I would have rather had an abandoned, ruined house over a clean, inhabited one
I think the yellow thing in the back could still be and onion/something else. it seems that it has like petals going outwards on the top where candypop buds dont have that.
The 2p picture says エンゴ射撃 which is probably 援護射撃, meaning 'covering fire'. Could be like how a second player can help collect starbits and stun enemies in mario galaxy. 気軽に I'm guessing just means its like pop-in multiplayer.
I'm going to theorize that all the house indoor sections are specifically for the battle mode. It seems like a good way to incorporate it without making it feel weird
I never thought of that, it is a very good idea. I really am hoping we enter it in story mode because of all the new possibilities. We finally get to see the pikmin side by side real house objects, in game! Plus, depending on the condition of the house, we can learn more about the humans and where they went!
@@jordanjohn1665 I personally hope they don't do much with the story of the humans because it's supposed to be more of a C plot in the games. The story should focus more on the captains on PNF-404 and then expanding the world building to their home planets.
@@KazLordOfLightWarriors I fully agree with you, I don’t mean add text and logs about the humans, but use the environment to help us understand where the humans went.
I saw the blue candypop at 2:29, and that made me think about progression: What if you access this before the onion of that color? It's got some neat implications in terms of game design: - No onion storage means that they are temporary, and only last for the duration of the day. (with no home, all die at night unless rooted) - The player has to make a decision to spend their pikmin resources to gain access to a temporary mechanic that will guarantee to be lost at the end of the day. - Now after the player has been exposed to the temporary form, they progress to gain access to the onion and continue like normal. It would be a pretty cool idea! I'd be down with spending pikmin in a way where I actually need to lose them to gain an advantage. One thing I'd really like to see from the pikmin games is something where it's hard to maintain onion numbers. Because currently, it's much too easy to gain 100. I have so much fun gaining numbers, but once i reach a high enough number, there's no need to produce more. I think it would be really fun to have to constantly produce them to survive in addition to treasure/food, etc (I'd even be okay with something challenging, like maybe all of the pikmin in storage is cut in half every day). It's certainly a challenge for veteran players, but i'd have so much fun trying to maintain numbers more often throughout the whole lifecycle of the campaign instead of just the beginning when building numbers
I gotta say if I saw that image of the captain in the house anywhere else I would suspect it of being a fake because that's the kind of thing someone might photo shop/generate with AI to get attention/create hype
This is probably the most hype for a video game I have ever seen!!! I still think that using Unreal Engine is pretty surprising since it's you know Nintendo.
I don't know if you were informed of this, but interestingly, the kendama toy (the wooden staff with a red ball) is likely the Quantum Traveler treasure from Hey! Pikmin. Also, it seems like the bomb rocks keep their design from Hey! too, as they look gigantic and more bulbous in shape.
Its already been said in the comments, but pretty sure the big Oatchi in the house only looks big due to perspective. It seems to be on a sort of table. You can't even see the bottom of the couch touching the ground
Super excited for most of the news, really anxious about the multiplayer. The image screams mario galaxy 2 or Odyssey multiplayer to me, which both were an absolute joke tbh. I love playing pikmin alone, too, but playing the third game together with my husband is just the best. The co-op in 3 is just SO GOOD I'd be extremely disappointed if it would turn into a flimsy pointer-control which could sabotage you more than benefit... But yeah, I'm trying to keep calm and wait for more news. And maybe the controls aren't that bad, fingers crossed!
It’s unfortunate that we aren’t getting a new main line pikmin. Especially now that there is so much merchandise and now physical official cards. This only leaves me to hope that we have another secret pikmin like the bulbmin, which Nintendo does not reveal.
Well, I saw everything, including what looks to be Olimin (yes, you heard me, Olimin, not Olimar), another of Oatchi's kind with him, new Green Pikmin called Glowmin, new enemies, new bosses, the lot. The only thing bothering me is the fact that HD versions of Pikmin 1 & 2 are only on the eshop, & as someone who only likes to buy physical copies of games, & cannot get on the eshop, that makes me sad. Same with the Mario RPG remaster.
i dont know why no ones is realizing that the raving/disco long legs purple stuff is poison. the unused poison geysers from pikmin 3 had that exact same shade of purple-pink, and the affect it had on pikmin was similar too. also, the image in the house is clearly on a table or some other raised platform, oatchi is definitely not the size of a cat, the couch and stairs are far in the background.
Nah Oatchi looks like his normal larger size when you compare him to the captain and pikmin. He's not close to a real cat or dog at all Also I don't think the pink haze around the leaves is ultra spicy spray because it doesn't turn them into flower pikmin
OMG, COULD that be Bulbie in the picture???? Yes it looks slightly different from the drawing in the first pikmin but what if it's a redesign or something like that.
Those blue crystals on the vs image most likely surround player one's onion. The rocks are Blue, the Pikmin's leaves are blue and Oatchi's collar is also blue. Plus there are pellet poseys nearby. Comparing the two screens doesn't confirm it though because player two doesn't see far enough back. It does make sense to me though.
What if that there are 2 separate sections in each area, the garden thing being one of them. What if there's a cave part and an on ground part. The house in the garden area could be a type of hub for different caves, like maybe there'd be a hole in the floorboards and you'd go into some pipe system area. We did see that the cave exit was a fan instead of a geyser too so maybe each cave has several different escape routes.
I'm right there with you. The thing is, we're already getting a new type, which is more than we've got in a decade, and I've been wanting to see everyone back in action together since... Well, the last ten years as well.
Looking at the house image there's a few things to note, for one Oatchi is not nearly as big as you think he is as he isn't even twice as tall as the player character who is the smallest option and two the house itself seems more abandoned that at first glance as the only light is coming from the windows and there's plants growing on the stairs and they don't seem like plant pots or anything The image of the disco ball long legs has a lot of pikmin under it with the same glittery effect on their flowers which I think is some kind of "dazzled" / hypnotised effect
I kinda hope the game allows you to unlock Pikmin types in any order (besides Reds). With 8 Pikmin types I don’t think unlocking them in a linear style like in Pikmin 3 will be optimal.
I'm dissapointed we only seem to be getting ONE new Pikmin type... they've had two in every new game (with Bulbmin and Puffmin being the outliers and not in the same category, as they are very uncommon and have specific circumstances outside of other Pikmin types) and it's sad they don't seem to be keeping up the trend.
could the purple long legs spray perhaps be poison? purply red has been the colour for poison and, assuming this boss is in a cave, it means maybe it could be where you unlock whites?
Not having online multiplayer would be a crime 4 the fact this game might have been in the works a few years after OG Pikmin 3, it was bad enough 3 deluxe didn’t have it, a whole battle mode refined but ultimately pointless for most people who don’t have anyone to play with locally
Pikmin 2 had areas that definitely seemed set inside a house, with toy blocks and such as obstacles. The Pikmin 3 Christmas themed mission level is similar. So an indoor area isn't that much of a stretch imo. 🤷
Ok, I am 99.99999% sur that you are completely of on the size of "giant" Oatchi. We have the captain and pikmin for scale here, and the captain is around an inch tall, and Oatchi seems to be about 2 captains tall. I don't think I've ever seen a 2 inch dog or cat. Oatchi could possibly be the size of a rut of the litter puppy or kitten of a small breed. I'd be extremely shocked if this isn't just a perspective thing.
It takes about a second to translate the box art with google translate's image feature, maybe you can even put the translated version in your video. "An unknown planet full of victims... ?" "Rescue with pikmin!" "rescue dog Ochin" "A great adventure with new pikmin and partner Ochin!" "Collecting treasures, fighting danders, and even dangerous protozoa?" - would love to see a better translation for this one. "Feel free to play 2 players with Ejo!" The top part of the box art holds no mysteries, though it does sound like captains will be the mcguffin of this game, instead of ship parts, treasure, or fruit.
I dont thinkyou understand what perspective is. How can you think Oatchi is the size of a cat? The angle is clearly from a table that makes him look big to the background.
@@Youarewhatyoueatsonic Using unreal engine means bad performance, that’s probably why they ditched the coop in the campaign, also unreal engine means the mechanics are limited by what that engine can do, unless they modified it a bit, something I doubt since the main reason devs go with it is to not put much work into the engineering
