I love that Motolegends is going more into social media and educating riders. I've had all great experiences ordering from you to San Francisco in the U.S. Keep up the great work!
I’ve been riding bikes for the most of the last three decades, using helmets without and with Pinlock. Still learned a lot from this video, thanks Motolegends and Chis.
I’m a new rider and purchased an Arai helmet with a pinlock insert. Thank you for providing such a detailed and informative explanation on this subject. Answered all my questions. Keep up the great content!
"Occasionally, you're going to have to experience some faff." Can't argue with that! I can also confirm, as a year-round rider, that Pinlocks are brilliantly effective. There's not even really any need to take them out for the summer, as they're optically very clear and the bead sits outside your main field of view.
@@danielec3269 Err... if you take it off, you _increase_ the risk of damaging it. You might scratch it when you remove it, store it, and/or re-fit it. It's not likely to get damaged while it is in place inside your visor. Just fit it and forget it :-)
Hi Chis. I have a Shoei flip and the pin lock works great. Biggest problem is fogging of the glasses. Oh and just one point. The pins are ecconcentric not excentric. One is an offset and the other is probably you. 😀😀👍. Keep up the good work all. Great informative vids.
You forgot no mention that the side you need to put towards the visor has the silicon gasket which you should not touch. Thanks for the video. Interesting you know that adjustment is required over time.
Great video except for the comment about windchill. The windchill temperature is based on evaporation of moisture or the wetbulb temperature. On a helmet visor you only experience sensible temperature and the drybulb temperature is what the visor will be at.
Great recommendation I usually experiencing condensation very early in the morning and Usually I ride from May to October so the condensation is very temporary early in the morning few hours later I do not think I need to use the Pin-lock shield as you said using the pin-lock may reduce the vision quality during warm session so I got my pin-locks insert lens ready to install but I will check if I really really need them thank you !!
One question, did the late Ronnie Corbett school your good self in presentational skills ? You are bloody right with Schuberth and the dreaded C4 visor insert. It was like Pinlock in reverse. Great advice on pushing the pins out, top tip. Thank you.
Nice video. Well made, informative and the style is on point ! Riding in tropical climates, I can attest to the effectiveness of a pinlock 120 - the visor stays fog free - usually there's mud from the road covering up the other side, but that's besides the point. :) the part where you insert the pinlock - that may deceive people into thinking they don't need to exert some effort into 'flattening' the visor to get it in :) Also 'ALL' Shoei helmets do NOT come with that useful little adjustment tool - only the neotec comes with it and for others it's sold separately - don't want to get into a bind when selling the next NXR and a customer asks for that tool you said comes with ALL Shoeis !
Hallo Chris 👋🏻 erstmal fast alles super erklärt. Fertig. Klappt immer und absolut ohne Kratzer. !!!! !!!! In diesem Sinne alles gute und beste Grüße 🍀🍀👍👍
I have a Pinlock, but don't know which number it is. Came in the box with the helmet (Caberg Duke II) Dealer fitted it for me. Interesting video, cheers.
Thank you for the informative video. There is no question that pinlock is the way to go ATM. What would you suggest for condensation on glasses? I have pinlock but my glasses gets fogged up in less than a second. BTW I really like your style of review, brutally honest and right right to the point. TIA
You can get an antifog spray for your glasses or rub toothpaste/bi-carb on the lenses - will need to repeat that every so often - unless you get anti-fog treated lenses which are pretty over priced if you ask me. I rarely ride with glasses but when I do I've found the toothpaste rub works pretty well.
Another great video thanks (And I still have some Bob Heaths spray....probably 25 yrs old, but still works ok)...its Pinlock all the way now though :-)
I have used pinlock previously, sadly after only a year or two they fail and you get fogging in between visor and pinlock. Best solution I ever had was over 25 years, BMW System 2 helmet with heated visor, brilliant piece of kit, plugged into the accessory socket. Passed the German TÜV but not the BSI, so they banned it in Britain !
I found using an antifog mask works really well in winter where my pinlock 70 was starting to saturate from the bottom up with vents opened. The 120 copes much better however
moist.... mmmm. Only time the pinlock failed me was a very long day riding in rain, in which the water eventually got between the pinlock and the visor and blurred everything.
I have a Pinlock Evo insert that came with my GT Air that I've not fitted yet, it says on the Pinlock packet "WARNING daytime use only never use Pinlock at night or in low visibility". In the UK low visibility and nighttime accounts for about 80% of the year so is a Pinlock insert only for warm sunny weather?
Avoid ghostbikes shop shitty products imported from China and Pakistan ie the shox agrius and Black's range drops to bits after a week poor quality poor customer service and avoid the cockroach cafe ripp off tiny portions top end price, the place needs shutting down
