I have to say the greetings with Hythlodaeus brought up the memories and made "Hello, my new old friend" hit a whole lot differently and harder than the first time I heard it.
Elpis is such a wonderful troll Step 1. Okay, so I'm going back as an invisible, intangible phantom. That makes sense. I can see the past, but not interact with it, or affect it. Neatly explains how we avoid typical time travel shennanigans. Step 2. Wow, we fucked THAT up in less than five minutes, didn't we? Okay... visible, tangible, and travelling with the one guy who would recognize me in the future. It's fine. Just a familiar... yeah, that's the ticket. Don't tell them anything, get the info we need, and get out. He'll forget me in 14,000 years I'm sure... Step 3. MOM WTH?! How did you... but... I CAN'T tell you everything though! Timeline... and... and causality... and... and... Step 4. FUCK IT, TELLING THEM EVERYTHING. BURNING DOWN THE TIMELINE AND FIXING THE PAST LET'S GOOOOOO! Step 5. What do you mean I CAN'T?! GRANDFATHER PARADOX!? THAT'S NOT FAIR!! Step 6. Time Travel sucks and I hate it.
Could you imagine if Emet made you as tall as they were but kept the lala proportions? There'd have been 7ft tall creatures with ogre proportions running around the area.
Ok, I notice so many people in chat not knowing that Emet knew WOL is Azem from the start in ShB. That's why he offered to collab and help bring catgirl back from the lifestream. The problem is the translation. In japanese, he says "how are you here!!" while in English, he says "It can't be.." He always knew, but when Wol merged with Ardbert, WoL's soul becamo more whole, closer to their Ancient self, hence why he follows up by saying "a trick of the light!"
Yeah, he's trying to deny it to himself but he 100% knows and knew before. The Nier Reincarnation collab written by the FF14 writers confirms it outright as well.
Can you explain because his memory was erased and never met WoL. He only regains memory in EW at the very end when brought back from the life stream. He even says he just regained his memories near the very end so what are you talking about and comments about Hydalyn must be laughing that he had forgotten everything that happened in Ellis.
@@KironX1 WoL's soul is the same as Azem's only thinner due to less aether. So it's obvious to Emet from the second he sees WoL that it's Azem's reincarnation.
I mean, it's not everyone. It's only the characters based in the Crystarium and Titania. It's not just Runaar and Magnus that don't come see you - no Eulmorans come visit either. Neither do the Vierans from the Greatwood.
2:04:47 I love how someone in chat is saying "No stepping on butterflies Pint", when the first thing you do in Elpis is kill some butterflies (or rather, turn them into robes). 2:49:05 I have never heard a more hilarious yet accurate impression of Amondaniel than this.
Players in /shout in Elpis during the first week were calling them "immersion robes" and yes, EVERYONE was wearing them. I de-glamoured them once the dungeon unlocked with the RP that I was throwing them off anime style.
Kudos to the community for keeping the Elpis zone a secret (for as much as they were able to) during launch day. It's both wonderful and sad to be here, knowing later that we will never get to see this place in the present. Even the robes where a big spoiler during launch, yet majority of the people were considerate enough not to wear outside the other cities, especially in Sharlayan. 2:59:23 Guys, just focus on this cute Ambystoma. Avert your eyes from the... uhm grass.
The 'you' being referred to by Elidibus with 'but you are not here to see it' = the two ancients who were addressing him in the flashback. Peeps have figured out through file names who they are specifically and it matters, it is all but explicitly confirmed in the 5.3 cutscene when Elidibus says the line if you pay close attention but you gotta REALLY pay attention. Basically like, analyst circles know with absolute certainty and there's a lot being set up around it. Feels like it would be a spoiler to say in this context but we do know the answer.
I love that the scene where you first meet emet and hythlo in elpis has multiple voiced versions depending on your race. I played as a femroe and he instead commented on how huge i was lol.
Your voice for Moren sounds like ARR Alphinaud (Sam Riegel). It's uncanny how similar that was! Also, I was took the Azem thing to mean that apart from the racial traits exhibited by whatever your character looks like, they are identical in appearance. Same colored hair and very similar facial features
@@RockR277 emet outright say "doubly so if it's their spitting image." he isn't talking about the color of the soul, he's outright saying that apart from the racial trait of your WoL, they look identical to Azem
There's a cutscene earlier in 5.2 or 5.3 where you see a flashback from Elidibus 's perspective where some other Amaurotines talk about how its a beautiful day and the rains have ceased. I think Elidibus was just repeating what they said.
The "you" in the rains haved ceased line were Igeyorhm and Lahabrea. He holds their stones, when he says it and I think someone datamined the dialogue where he has the flashback about that line and they were confirmed to be those two?
If I don't shampoo my hair for like 2 days it takes 5x as much to get it clean. My hair, whether long or short, just gathers into these sticky oily clumps. I also have pretty bad dandruff which requires me to be extremely thorough in scrubbing my scalp.
there were alot of talks about possible ends when this storyline came to light; it was surprising how many people tried to justify that we had no right to stall the end even though it was manufactured and not natural. Fandaniel based the aether she was to search for on his own, which meant she only found depressed people because she was searching for only depressed people and the events began to cascade on ontop of another.
I was slightly sad we didn't get a timeskip Ryne (due to the time dilation or w/e possibly shifting), but mayhap that'll come later down the line. That and creating a new model for one or two scenes probably wouldnt have been worth it xD
If you were looking for something to do once you get finished with Endwalker, then I have an idea! Have you, by chance, heard of the N64 Zelda Double Randomizer? What this particular randomizer does is that it takes all of the items from both OoT and MM and shuffles them between the two games. Your objective is to defeat both Ganon and Majora. I'm guessing that my comment was deleted by an auto-moderator, so I will not link to the website.. Instead, I will simply suggest Googling OoTMM. It should take you to the site fairly easily. Good luck in your randomized journey!
I mean. I don't know what side content Pint has/hasn't done. But there's a lot if he streams it. Side stories, beast tribe stories, ultimates, savages, extremes, crafting side stories, custom delivery stories, relics, etc etc Again, don't know how much he's done, but ff14 doesn't have to end with Endwalker. Even if it's just weekly raiding or hanging out.
I stand by that they really need to tweak the dynamic weather system in FF. Why is foggy/cloudy even a weather type you can get in Elpis? It just makes the area look shittier without adding anything to the experience. I feel like for my endwalker playthrough it was just nonstop clouds and rain fucking everywhere I went and it actually legitimately started making me mad LMAO
Like how it rains in Garlemald. I get that it can rain in freezing areas, but then it should rain in Coerthas. They can make it so certain weather can't happen, so I don't understand why they don't apply that for Elpis and Garlemald. Especially since the Elpis reveal is supposed to be breathtaking, but can be ruined by weather. I've seen this happen 3 times, and it really shouldn't.
You know, I think one great thing FF14's story has over WoW's... Well, there's a lot of things it has over WoW's, but specifically, they take time to actually reflect on all the death that happens. It's not just everyone gets slaughtered with no consequence.
Some scenes feel like they have an element in them that could have been worked better. (Square's never been very good at animating a crowd applauding or showing solidarity through matching actions in in-game engine cutscenes.) But this story really does have a lot of amazing moments that are sold by a combination of music, voice acting and... I want to call it "genuine feeling". I wanna say some of it is reaching, but... honestly doesn't feel that heavy a grasp. I'm glad you seem to be enjoying the story and the game as a whole, especially so far in on the current content. Putting all of your joking antics aside, I know you wouldn't have played this far into the story or the game if you weren't enjoying the ride.
G'raha transferred his soul and memories into the vessel at the end of 5.3, then we shoved them into the Source G'raha and they merged and became one person. Elidibus' soul was sucked into the tower where it'll slowly be 'digested' by the towers power systems, and then spat back into the lifestream where he'll be reborn which opens up soooo many complications with the lore that I don't even know where to begin. But yes, Elidibus's soul is still 'alive', it's just slowly being burnt up to fuel the tower. After a while he'll be dead dead and reincarnated.
We are not Azem, *but* we are extremely similar to them in personality. I think people don't realize that inheritor of a soul does not make you that person. They may share similarities, but it is not them. Ardbert and the WoL share personality traits with Azem, but are not them. The reason why Emet was so invested in the WoL during SHB is specifically because they retained some core qualities of Azem without ever needing a memory crystal. A love for adventure, whimsical nature, the desire to help people, a personality that draws people to their side. Emet really saw their old friend in the WoL, which is why they constantly tried to sway them to his side. It's why one of your dialogue options against Elidibus is "Those you once loved are gone." Even if a Rejoining occurs, the people of the source are not, can not be, and never will be the Ancients he once loved. They may inherit their memories (the way Gaia inherits Loghrif's). They may even be able to synchronize with them to a degree, given how Gaia wishes Mittron well and hopes that maybe they can reunite again as their own individual selves. But the people they once were are gone.
It is okay my friend, I only knew that Elpis was a zone, and I knew emet selch would get a different haircut at some point, the rest was unknown Also, while things might not have be as surprising as they could be, It doesnt take away my appreciation for them past that, for the writing and presentation, which I'd argue is more important. Alas, everything else in Elpis was entirely unknown to me and you'll see that in the vods to come >:^)
@@PintVods honestly I'm sad you got spoiled that Elpis was a zone, because one of the most enjoyable mindblowing moments for me was when the title card for the zone popped up- I thought the time travel stuff was just going to be like, one kinda long cutscene.
