Ha you're right on with all the points here. I had the V1 as a prototype through the release and haven't had any issues (even on a 10mm which they didn't recommend). I found most people who had issues was b/c the belt they were using (non pioneer) were too soft, especially StrengthShop. Without the extra leg a softer belt will fold over some and knot allow for a full closure. The other upgrade I believe was a heavier duty rivet for pins. Sometimes they could come loose and hang a bit, which would then get in the way of the lever closing, which in turn could open it up. I'm finally retiring my V1 and upgrading myself!
Thanks man. I never had an issue with my V1, but it never had that secure close even on a 13mm single suede belt. This one closes almost like a good collar where it snaps closed and there is no question it is locked in. I am glad I grabbed one.
Finally! I found a review for PAL v2. I hope it would fit perfectly on my 10mm Inzer belt considering those improvements on the gaps when the belt is fully closed. Thank you very much for this review. I appreciate it a lot. 💪 New subscriber here.

I would think so. The website says “The V2 PAL has two headed rivets keeping the lever operation smooth and more durable along with a new bottom “leg” that makes the PAL 2.0 compatible with ALL belts and all thicknesses that use the traditional hole patterns of the old school lever belts” If you want to be sure though, I would shoot them a quick email to confirm. I hope that helps!
I believe the PAL V2 is compatible with either thickness. As far as which thickness I would prefer in general, I would say the 13mm. My 10mm is more comfortable than my 13mm, but I do not feel the same level of support with my 10mm. The 13mm is stiff though. I have bruising sometimes after a heavy session with it. I'm looking at a pal too and I will say if you're at all strong or plan to be you can definitely outgrow 10mm as it wears out. I have a double suede 10mm w/ regular lever and at this point it's just sad. 13mm will take longer to wear in but it will also last a hell of a lot longer likely. I've had my 10mm for 4 years and, it's done, and it still needed to be worn in, just less.
@@babygiantbarbell1014 compared to other brands that has lever belts like SBD or PR that are using aluminum, is it quite a significant difference in "toughness" of the lever? If so then this PAL is killer!
@@mikael660 honestly man, I am not 100% sure because I have not used those. I would shoot Pioneer an email with more pointed questions because they would be able to tell you exactly what it is made of and coated with. Mine has held up great though. It still functions smoothly, and whatever coating they put on it still looks good. When it latches closed, it is super secure. I am sorry I can only give anecdotal evidence, but I have been very pleased with mine.
