How does this guy only have 97k subscribers? One of the best tech channels. Great video. As for the results considering it included 1.5 hours of gaming and was connected to mobile data the entire time I guess 5.3 hours isn't terrible but certainly not good. If the reported excessive battery drain of the Pixel 7 Pro's screen at higher brightness is a software issue that can be resolved then it good get better.

For the video recording...I am pretty sure the thermal readouts in the options are either on the Processor or the battery itself and not the camera sensor which is why they shut off at seemingly low temperatures.

Once again a great clip and an interesting comparison in terms of battery draining between the 6Pro and 7Pro. In my opinion it's not a big difference between these two. But do you think is it worth to switch from a 6Pro to a 7Pro or is it better to keep it one more year and wait until the Pixel 8 comes out? Because I have a 6Pro and I'm satisfied with it except the average battery life.

For battery drain: You might fully charge the units between each test, as drain rate will vary a little depending on how charged the battery is. Or you could charge both to 80% since that's a more normal level. Also, did the phones start each test at the same temp? It seems like you were rapidly going through the tests in order, so the phones wouldn't have the chance to cool down to the same starting temp.

Very good test. 1 question though, did you wait for the phones to cool down in between tests to see which app really causes to heat up the device and by how much? Coz I noticed in your video in between tests the thermal seems to be always at around 46C. Maybe some apps does not really get the phone that hot if they have cooled down. You need to be subjective when you make a comparison like this one. Your 6 Pro is at least one year older than the 7 Pro, which you just received a week ago, so there is something called "Battery Decline" to give logical and rational results. To me, considering the one-year-old 6 Pro, the battery difference does not exist, and if so, it's so narrow that very much could be negligible.

That's very inaccurate test. During gaming test you can see the 7 doesn't even have any internet connection while 6 shows LTE. After the first test you saw the H+ and know it will affect battery, you should have balanced the level out and tested the rest evenly. I'll correct your mistake the first test you have to add 4%. On second test with the game, if no internet add 2% again. Total of 6%. At the end subtract that from your 10% overall difference and you are left with only 4% difference between the two. That's nothing to get excited about.

Google, inspite of owning Android is still a looong way from becoming the iPhone of Android. Just the software bugs and thermal management is pathetic when compared to Apple. The 6A was final nail in the coffin for me, switched to an iPhone 12. Thermals, software, camera, battery …top notch

There is one big difference. 7 Pro is a new phone but 6 pro is 1 year with many charge/recharge cycles.

Not really an upgrade from 6 pro. The hype of these phones is astounding to me.

Did you even see any camera comparisons? The video performance looks like it's 3-4 generations ahead

Don't forget that your 6 Pro battery has been used for around a year whereas your 7 Pro is new.
