I had a T15 when I got back into paintball, omg it was a pain I the ass, I took it back and went back to a standard PB marker. After a year I decided to give the MG100 a shot and damn it’s amazing. All I can say is if I had started with the MG100 I would have never left Magfed in the first place
As an ex-speedball tournament player who has switched to magfed exclusively I can say this gun is probably the smoothest and most quiet magfed gun out there. I play with an M17A2 primary and TiPX secondary, but I got to play with one of these as a demo not too long ago. It was surprising. An all around great marker. The only thing that doesn't do it for me is looks and the zeta mag style mag. For a primary I'd rather have a continuous feed mag, but give it some time and there may be an aftermarket solution for that. I really hope this is the start of more big name companies coming out with magfed markers like you said.
treeafodo yeah I’m with you on the continuous 20 rnd mags. That’s a down side. Also, a lot of people are looking for that realistic look and feel IE: FS T15 as discussed 8:23.
Thank you for another great video. I really appreciate the time and effort you put into your RU-vid channel. I have tried to watch every one you put out and I'm trying to catch up on ALL of your other ones. Keep up the good work Sir.🇺🇸
I know im late for this vid , but been on a 7-8 year hiatus from paintball , doing some research on this gun . Love this channel for one. Most definitely going to get one. Thanks
The Emek and now the MG100 are THE markers I've been waiting for since I started playing back in 2000. I love all forms of paintball but for a Mech, is there anything better than this? Really...is there?
@@Adroit1911 I own many Cockers (Nothing exotic but Orracles, Black Magics, Ebladed, Pumps, STOs, 05 Prostocks & BM, etc), Automags (Classics, X-valved ULEs, Tac-Ones, RTs, etc), Tippmanns, etc. I don't like it but the Emek is a Superior Performing Paintball Marker in every way. But nothing is as cool as the old school markers in my book.
I used my MG100 with first strikes for the first time last week-end at Splat Tag's Giant big Game near Hudson WI. And it was the most fun I've had playing woods ball yet. It actually made me feel like we were playing renegade woods ball out in the country back in 1990. The limited rounds reminded me of when paintballs were sold in 10 round tubes, and you had to make the shots count. This paintball gun would be perfect for somewhat new players because of the ability to use a hopper, and test out the mag fed paintball. I hope Planet Eclipse develops a First Strike Round specific barrel, that would be awesome!
Totally agree on the barrel. Unfortunately it’s unrealistic to expect most new players to spend $500 on a paintball guns. That’s what the normal emek is for, its much more mildly priced and out preforms some mech guns double its cost.
There are Lapco, Carmatech, and MCS barrels designed specifically for FSR that you can use. No need for Eclipse to spend a ton of money designing a new barrel that works just as well as the current options available
My biggest complaint is the switch from magfed to hopperfed. The plastic already has substantial wear from me prying the feed neck off. PE shoulda made this whole process tool less and just easier. Aside from that, it’s amazing and like ya said: just the best. (I’ve had it pretty much since it came out and played with it 3 times and I’ve used both mags and hopper)
@@BaezLife Still my favorite paintball gun ever made. I snapped one of the tabs on the magfed adapter a couple years ago. It still works fine so I haven't bothered replacing it (it's probably just a $10 part) but yeah, my concerns were definitely warranted. That said the hopper feed neck is fine and shouldn't break. But I think I'm going to upgrade to one of the inception designs upper receivers so it's a dedicated magfed a bit less clunky to maintain and clean. It's an annoyingly expensive upgrade though which is why I've held off. PE really needs to come out with a new magfed though, it's hard to believe that it's been 4 years.
under the encouragement of a friend he made me try out his MG100 to give my T15 a rest, I will say it performances phenomenally! The mag changes are something to get used too! Also the cost of entry is a tad higher than a T15.
I love my emek. Put a shorty Nemesis barrel on it and a 3D print stock on the tank. The thing is a lightweight smg that hasnt failed me yet. 1000 fsr and not a single break yet.
true, I was more speaking to somebody like me that doesn't own any magfed shooters. there's a certain price level that just becomes "well I'll never spend that much right out of the gate" if you know what I mean
as far as look goes, I think that the fact that it does not look so much like a real gun is actually good for the sport. In the mind of the general public, the line between actual guns and markers can be blurry at time. How many time did I had to explain that a paintball gun could not be modified to fire real bullet... So to me the fact that it look badass without being an AR looking marker is just great.
I've never been asked if my marker could be modified... What in the world are y'all worried about lmao. Apparently you haven't seen a T15 or literally any airsoft gun before.
@@killasjanitor I don't think you get the point. Non-paintballers are scared of airsoft and realistic paintball markers to them a t15 is better than a cs2 on the field. Think any regular anxious soccer mom, I'm sure she would be more comfortable letting her children play with this Marker than putting a t15 in their hands. I love that there is options for all.
@@mikaelangelo6940 I don't know a single person that is scared of a marker or airsoft gun. Maybe being HIT by one yeah but they aren't afraid of the marker itself. Just because something "looks scary" doesn't mean it's actually scary lol. Y'all worry too much about guns. Educate yourselves on real firearms and you'll be able to see the obvious differences between a real and a fake one 🤦
@@mikaelangelo6940If your parent is scared for their kid just because of a paintball marker's aesthetic, they should know that looks mean jack squat, and that this sport is one of the safest in the world. I've been playing paintball for around ten years now and I have never had parents or anyone concerned by how I look or how my markers look based on their realism.
Personally i think it has 2 problems 1 lack of 18-20 round mags, vs the x+x flip mags, Tippmann, MCS, Milsig, and FS all have more modern offerings in that field, sure the TMC mags are roundball only but still. The other is price point, at it's base 450 price the start up cost (marker and around 5-6 mags) puts it inline with the "flagship" magfed markers like the T15, M5, and 468, while you could pick up a "starter" magfed package around a TMC, M17 or MCS conversion kit for less that that base price. That said if i was in the market for a "marksman" marker and didn't want to hunt for a hammer 7 to mod, drop the $$ on a 468 bolt action or drop the $$$$ on a SAR-12, It would be my choice.
Can the rails be removed to the extent that it would look more like a regular Emek that can take a magazine? And is the barrel any good compared to the Emek stock barrel?
Inception has made a couple of bodies that you can swap out from the stock one on the mg100. I have the FLE body and it is very low profile, reminds me of shooting a warp left ULE automag. The bring-to-aim/sight picture is amazing with this gun. The barrel is nothing special but it is nicer than the short one that comes stock with the regular emek.
@@Isaac_L.. average cost of magfed is about $250 for an entry level marker w/ is what the mg100 was marketed to be. Theres like 3 markers that cost more than $500 in magfed that arent DMRs or snipers, so id say yur wrong about that. Almost the entire tacamo line, the entire tippmann line, half the markers milsig ever made, and all the magfed markers tiberius/first strike made were all $300 and under.
Yes but nearly all of them at that price have sorta weird ergonomics, don’t shoot first strikes, or have minor dependability issues which turn off most serious magfed players. The two most popular choices for a serious primary have thus far been the 486 and the t15 which are both starting at $500. The mg100 has similar features, smoother performance, and is just less out dated than its major competitors. It is priced $50 less than them so I think it’s not pricey at all. It’s on a whole different level than the tmc (which is great btw) feature wise and performance wise, they really shouldn’t be compared.
Lawn Gnome lol....man....what are you talking about....the only marker that i mentioned that doesnt have fsr capability is the tmc and even then engler customs has a service to mod them to work with first strikes and t15 mags. The mg100 has the exact same ergonomics because it is an AR style platform. Most tacamos and the TMC hold the bottle under the grip so thats nothing new. Its original estimated price was $250-$300 and yes it was pitched to the magfed community as an entry level marker. They threw in a bunch of stuff magfed players dont care about like PALS and POPS and then double the price while charging as much as a marker that actually has some customizability. It works great, sure. Its still a $200 marker for $450 and almost no custom options. And dam mags are about as big as the first portable phones...what a terrible choice...
I love my t15! But It took a while to get it to be reliable and all the kinks worked out. I must buy the MG100 now....ugly in my opinion but having a marker that you don't have to worry about?? Sold! BTW love the videos! Keep it up!
@@justalpha9138 Reg in the tank usually needs shimmed due to lack of pressure output. Lots of chops if you use any sort of weak paint, you always have to use like magfed specific or full winter grade hard shell paint. Other than those two things the issues a lot of people have are usually from lack of maintenance.
@@killasjanitor I've had my T-15 for a couple of months now and its an absolute beast of a rifle. I've had zero significant issues with it so far, even through the worst conditions.
@@justalpha9138 Same here I just played through cold rain and mud the other weekend and it was still shooting strong, just consuming a tad more air than usual
@@killasjanitor It's so freaking good man. The one and only thing I can complain about it is how with the buffer tube adapter, it does leak a small amount of air gradually no matter how well I seal the area, but it hasn't really affected me much of the time.
@@Matter_Of_Fact not really just the scorpian pouches qnd they arnt cheap at all. 25 bucks for a single. If im running just 4 mags thats 100 bucks. So no he did not do a COMPREHENSIVE reveiw on magazines specificly on dye dam mags. Cuz even on the scorpian mags they sit way high even on a battle belt.
@@PaintballRuinedMyLife haha actually went to victory store in vallejo which is a millitary surplus store. None of them fit it. Only one that did was a radio pouch and it was 25 for 1 while any of the ak and m16 pouches where so tight. Couldnt get it in. Im still looking. I might just buy the dam mag pouch cuz its the same price but holds 4 mags. I just heard bad reviews.
I disagree with the mg100 being the most reliable magfed marker. Nothing can beat the TMC/tacamo internals when it comes to reliability. I'm gonna stick to my milsig unless theres a major price cut. Its just as reliable, ridiculously consistent, and easy on paint, plus it can run 20 round Helix mags so no flipping after 10 shots
Tippmanns still got it beat. I'd put it on par with Milsigs, it's reliable but still needs maintenance occasionally. A Tippmann needs no maintenance (unless a drop of oil in the asa every couple months counts as maintenance)
@@TheBroz lmao no it wont...cause the mag will eat it up before the mg100 could shoot it... Youd need a hopper to do that and u might as well buy a gmek for that.
When it comes to reliability no company dominates but Tippmann. Their internals are bullet-proof and have passed the test of time. Look at the tippmann 98 for instance.
Until the gamma core that is. If I were to scale the reliability of the inline valve of the 98c to the gamma core, I'd give the 98c a few percent better like 98% vs 95.9%. But the shot quality is not even in the same category. The gamma core shot like a $1000 gun when you shoot it in the emek or the gtek170r while the 98c shoot like a .22 nailgun.
The gamma core can be lubed with Elmer's glue and peanut butter, spend a night in a freezer, and still shoot smoother than a tippmann. Check out some torture tests by the Madman and Team Insanity. Only thing Tippmann has going for it anymore are dirt cheap prices.
I mean, yeah, you can get like a gtek or a decent autococker for $500 usd, but it’s like comparing apples and oranges. Magfed is completely separate subset of paintball and is in a completely different ballgame when it comes to price. I mean look at FSR for example. It’s priced average for magfed, and is better than the average magfed marker. If you don’t care to spend the extra money on magfed, there’s the $200 tmc to try magfed our, or the $220 emek which is better if you don’t care for the magfed part. That said I do think the price of the mg100 is a bit steep, but it’s still reasonable and is worth it in my opinion.
A PE fanboy reviewing a PE product? Of course is going to be the best thing out there even if it is a trash can, saying thay this is the best magfeg gun ever lol Oh and please stop saying is the best reliable gun out there, and pretty sure that award goes to the TMC with the bullet proof 98 internals
We need a torture test of the 98 vs gamma. After how many shots they fail. This would settle the reliability debate. But because of the shot quality the 98 should not even be compared to the gamma core.
Thank you....another person who notices that Brad rides the P.E. pole way to much. Nothing wrong with Brad but he over loves the P.E. pole wayyy to much
Why does a speedball converted gun give magfed legitimacy?? Magfed and its players are happy where we are and dont necessarily want the crossover or need to be it to be considered legitimate. Nor does speedball need magfed approval to be considered legitimate. Different niches of paintball and if this is what draws you fine but the legitimate bit is not needed
The emek is very far from a speedball marker lmao. He's referring to the company Planet Eclipse, which HAVE made some VERY nice speedball markers and products in general, and it's nice to see them yet again widening their product range.
@@killasjanitor we can agree to disagree with our perception of his statement...with both Dye (dam)and Tippmann (tipx TCR) making magfed markers for many years prior either shows his lack of research or prejudices against
Brad being biased as always when reviewing Planet Eclipse vs other companies....9/10 Brad will over hype P.E. Sorry but the best MagFed markers are Tippmann TMC and First Strike T15...not this P.E. Both are proven and tested and have multiple mod options, especially the T15.
It's not just a bias, PE engineering, reliability, ease of use, packaging, maintenance videos, and customer service, are literally unmatched by any other paintball manufacturer. If you've owned or used a few PE guns you'll understand the hype.
