omg i have been playing planetbase for a week now and i got 2 bases to a pretty big size. it was up until i acccidently neglected my oxygen levels and all my buildings suddenly had a drop in oxygen. i have a lot of other bases that also failed but at an earlier stage. your tutorial is really helping me with starting up a good base. thx. P.S. overpopulation is a jerk

Thanks for the awesome beginner tutorial. After many embarrassing space graveyards, with your help I was able to negotiate early survival and expansion. I now get that early trading=food, so efficient biology gets you trading and avoids starvation, although expansion is always tricky. I currently have a laser and telescope, working towards roboticisation. You clearly introduce all the basics. The only small criticism I'd make is that it does matter about the starting coords. Okay, you can always get basic survival and expansion anywhere, but to do that efficiently you need a large open area ringed by mountains you drop near, for a final base in a large polygon with several layers.

I agree with your early setup process. It is well thought out. I would suggest not trading at all until you have a surplus. I would suggest concentrating on balancing your population to production. For example, instead of trading away your plastic at a much reduced rate, for metal, bring in a couple more workers to work the mines and metal processing plant. You now have 4 biologist, turn them off completely until you expand food production. Balancing your colonists is probably the most important part of the early game.

Quick question. If you plant one base down on a world and then aim directly next to said base for a new game, will you be able to see that base from new base?

I haven't watched yet, but lemme say this tip: Spares won't be made if the metal you're producing is going towards buildings that are under construction.

Yup. Building stuff always takes priority, expansion must be managed quite carefully because of this.

One of the reasons why my colonists die a lot is because I’m very OCD and need to have my base very orderly and dress right dress. Damn you game devs! I was very presently surprised on how hard this game was, very entertaining.

I am also making a small series with Planetbase is there chance i could get some helpful hints on what i need to build next? anything is appreciated

+LiamStevenProject Aim up the robotics. First expand so you have two mine running and another processor room (medium at least) to support it, then probably aim for another factory for semiconductor making, then a robotics thingumy. All the while keeping everyone fed, powered and watered!

One thing I find annoying about the air lock is that a bunch of people could go in there at the same time. But no, they have to go one at a time which ridiculous and time consuming
