Thank you again for the good info. This is my 2nd year in raised beds and I left the tubers in the beds using your tips for covering for winter and they’re doing great! I’m in zone 9b and they’re already about 18” tall (pinched at about 12”). I added a few more this year and I can’t wait for those beautiful blooms to show again! 😊

Hi, how tall are your raised bed where you plant your dahlias? They don't look so tall, and I'm very eager to learn more. One of my main reasons to get fewer dahlias was because I thought they would require at least 12-14 inch high raised bed or planters.

Aww thank you so much Cheri!! So happy to have you here. I accidentally forgot to link it but I just added a few options/sizes- look for the starter fertilizer or the bonemeal linked below, you don’t need both.

❤Thank you for this information! I just planted my first 18 tubers so I’m starting slow😊 Im also in zone 8b where our humidity is always super high being 90 miles from the gulf coast. Was told our nights are not cool enough and they reach heat exhaustion, but Im up for the challenge… I can’t wait they are so beautiful!! Hi Barbara, in the past I would add plastic edging around my dahlias, they weren’t in pots. I just liked it neat, so this helped keep the bark mulch away from their stalk.
