Mike when you do long cuts like on the side you can use a guide on the tip of the plasma cutter. Formica works well and it can be used screwed up stuff. At home depot here in Texas they have a gallon of green stuff that if you put it on 2-3 times it will eat the rust and etch it . It is concrete and metal etch and the good part of it - it is only 20 bucks with tax. Do Not inhale this sh@t.or get it on your skin. It is sorta like Osfo. and the way you brushed it with the SS brush after hit it with it and Try it youll like it.

@@dentfreeimagemobilepaintle5505 I am in Corpus . the stuff is Klein Strip -- Concrete and Metal prep. It is sorta like Ospho but is cheaper and here is how to use it . On a cloudy day so it does not dry up,spray, paint . dump it on and it helps if you wire brush it . Leave it on as long as possible.Do it 2-3 times and to get it off dilute 50-50 with water and let it set for 30 minutes the was off soap and water. Like Ospho do not paint on film. I’m really pleased with fedogel as it removes the rust ( it doesn’t hide it like rust converter) if you treat something with rust converter you can come back a few days later , sand it a little and you will see that the only thing the rust converter did is changing the rust surfaces color .if you sand it just a little you will see that there is rust . Rust converter is a waste of money In my opinion as it only hides rust , it doesn’t remove it !!!!!
removing the rust makes you feel better.converter makes it dead. Not rust anymore. I have tested it. It works it does not hide rust it converts it to a totally different compound that is no longer rust. Do some more research on it and then you will start realizing it does its job. I have done testing on 10 plus years no failure.
I bought a cheap plasma cutter ($300 or less) vs the ESAB at school ($3K), I was hoping for SPEED, I think it is a little faster, if definitely is a lot more fun than any other tool for cutting metal.... grounding on the cheap machine is super important and the ESAB just keeps going while the cheapie might stumble..FYI... your mileage may vary....
