This is very helpful. I would like to see part two of this video which explains how to check anti-drop sensors and front bumper sensors using a multi meeter. I hope it will help someone in future
I'm really happy to hear this comment...I already updated a video last year about this mater...no need even multi meter just with using mobile camera u can test weather anti drop sensors n front bumper sensors working or not...
@@ecovacstechnicalsupport5278 Yes I checked it. Can you guide me why this is happening this is one year old machine and carefully maintained. Deebot t8 aivi runs in left , right circles and complaining please clean anti drop sensors. Sometimes gives the message front bumper stuck drive.google.com/file/d/1s1StQlPRLIWkuuZmf2t12UUH_6ObnMxD/view?usp=drivesdk
@@ecovacstechnicalsupport5278 I have Deebot T8. Any idea about how many sensors will be there on front bumper. I see only two sensor on both ends of bumper for my deebot.
Very useful info in these videos my only problem is you never go through the process of how to the disassemble the robot so that we can get to these parts.
I fixed it. There was no cleaning issue or corrosion on mine. The IR-sensor in the front bumper gets broken. There are 4 sensors on each side of the cleaner robot. 3 bottomsensors and one front/side sensor located in the bumper. 1. Check with a digital camera which side of the bottom sensors does not shine. 2. Remove the front bumper and replace the IR-side-holder assembly. Or open the assembly and replace the 3mm IR-diode. (not sure whether it is 850nm or 940nm) Good luck.
Very helpful. Would you be able to make a video of how to disassemble the bottom and top part? Because in your video this is directly to the part of the camera.. I dont know how to Opening its engine parts
This is great. Thank you for the video. Is the sensor just a closed or open circuit that could be bypassed by connecting or separating the wires? I have no drop-offs on my floor and would like to disable this feature. It is seeing large black spot patterns on my rug as a drop-off.
Great info, thank you! I just received a refurbished X1 which was a replacement for my original under warranty. After only the second use it is giving me the drop sensor error. Should I be concerned that it has a pre-existing issue?
No need to accept refurbished replacement...you paid for new item. Got warranty.. better request them to fix this issue...in Omni mostly motherboard also need to replace with anti drop sensor
I just purchased a T8 and got this issue in the first boot -_- Will be seeking a replacement. However I'm afraid that I might run into this issue later on.
While I love this product, can we say that this is a design fault as sooner or later it is very likely to have these anti-drop sensors rust or become faulty because water or moisture is likely to affect them? Is there any way of fixing it - beyond warranty period?
Thank you for this video, but I would like to know how to remove the bumper so I can get to the sensors. Also, where can I get replacement sensors? I did get all the way to the bumper but couldn't figure out how to get the bumper off. I undid all the screws but was afraid to pull too hard on the bumper because it might break. I have a Deebot T8 AIVi, so it also has a front-facing camera. Any help you could give me would be a great help. Especially where to get replacement sensors. Thank you.
Bumper removal is bit critical. There are two small size screws on the top of camera assembly. you need to use very small screw driver to remove it. I believe this it a dust cover for the camera. Be aware of the Lidar wires and front bumper wires when you de-assemble. You can repair the sensor if you cannot find it in local market. Its just IR LED 3mm transmitter / receiver.
Hi..yes Mr sujeewa Just fixed his deebot T8AIVI in Sri Lanka if I'm not wrong..& I'm really feeling happy to know once any user Fix his unit with getting help from my videos...

I have a problem with the anti-drop sensor on my Deebot Ozmo 900, I have checked and all the sensors are clean. So I would like to proceed to replace the damaged sensor, could you tell me which is the exact replacement? Thank you very much in advance, you do a great job
I. This model there are different veriations available... sensors all same just the length of the wire is different..so plz check properly which size you want to order...2 different size available
@@ecovacstechnicalsupport5278 Thank you very much for your response, so I think the best option will be to buy the one with the longest cable, this way I can make sure that the size will always be enough
Hello, i've once opened my t8 and i "managed" to fix. Unfortunately after a few rounds the error came back and stopped working. I checled the sensors video with my camera ( as on your previous videos shown) and they are all working. The only thing i noticed there is a slight scratch on the window on one of them. Can that be the problem?? I tried to look for some sensors but i can' t get them anywhere. Any idea?? Thanks. Great clips by the way
Great video thks. So basically the deebot is not fit for purpose, terrible design....... I've used the mop feature once and now have this error after ensuring everything is spotlessly clean 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Hi Bro.. Very useful info. I am repeatedly getting this anti-drop error and along with that, the "Bumper is stuck" error.. If out of warranty, is it worth repairing?
Thanks for the video is there any way to disable anti drop sensors? My n8 the sensors become dirty from inside the glass and when it's cleaning the carpet it always stop and tell me to clean the sensor but on hard floors it working great
Actually you might be used some oily liquid to Clean that anti drop sensors glass that's why when run on carpet dust stick there n gives error...need to wipe with soft cloth...or u can replace inner sensors only..will be ok
Faulty sensor. Is that operator misuse? Or just bad design? More importantly, why must consumers pay once when we buy the unit, then pay again to have design flaws repaired?
Mine also the same issue. All anti drop sensors took out, pry open the case and inside looks in good condition. Cleaned and still refuse to work. When on the robot, it stay still and give a sound notification "please clean my anti drop sensor" Model 950 series
Hey I just bought last month ecovac N10 plus, and it gave me the error for cleaning the drop sensor once. It's still in the warranty. Should i ask them to change the whole machine or 1 time error fine? There will be no harm for using it later? Or if that happened already, it can make the machine rusty someday?
@ecovacstechnicalsupport5278 it gave me the error that anti drop sensor covered with the dust please clean and it happened only once. But my house is very clean and only 2 people living no dust nothing was there. Thats why I was concerned. Is this fine still?
Hey there, I replaced all 6 sensors with original parts and still get the same error to clean my anti drop sensors :( What else can I do? Could it be mainboard which is causing the trouble? Any help appreciated, greetings Thomas
I checked the 4 little sensors on the wire below the lds cover with a multimeter, when pushing one of the little buttons the continuity test is ok, I suppose the sensors are fine then. Any other ideas?
I did a last try and ordered a new mainboard… holy moly this solved the problem finally for me, the repair all in all was not that cheap and it costed me a lot of time but it was still cheaper than getting a used one at ebay… thanks a lot for these videos here encouraging me to try it… if I knew that you can check if the infrared drop sensors work with your smartphone camera i could have saved some money and a lot time to go straight for the new board, just saying in case somebody is also willing to solve the problem by himself… have a nice evening everybody
Actually we also can not confirm 100% that its just a anti drop sensors issue...some time I replace all seasons still deebot gives same error then last choice is to replace main board
Followed this guide but I'm having different results. Everything looks completely clean but the drop sensors on one side are not turning on. When looking at them with my phone I don't see them light up. Other side lights up ok though. Also see some 15 volt as well as 3.3 volt on some of the wires on the side that works. On the faulty side I only see 3.3 volt. Any idea what might be going on here?
Anti drop sensors some time with physical eyes we can not see..but might be short circuit etc...just need to replace Anti drop sensors.. hopefully will be ok
@@ecovacstechnicalsupport5278 Thanks for your reply. Greatly appreciated.I did some more testing. When I connect the non working sensors to the connector on the other side of the main board they actually work. So sensors are ok. Also tested the voltages coming out of the connector and they are different from the working side. Visual inspection of the main board doesn't show any obvious faults. Not really sure where to go from here.
@@rajackar did you find out something its exactly the same for me. No rust or anything. All sensors on one side light up but not the other ? Tried to switch the cables from front bumper from right to left and now all sensors light up but still same error. 😮
Hey, thanks for the video. My deebot 950 was asking me to clean the anti drop sensors and I exchanged them all, front and both sides, but the problem continues. Do you know what else can it be?
On top got LDS Cover...plz open it... underneath the cover you will find in front side 3 tiny screw... remove those n lift up the small black sensors cover... underneath you will find one long wire with 4 small sensors.. sometimes those sensors become rusty...u can test with multi meter weather ok or not... hopefully will work
New, 1-day old, T-20 OMNI to replace R95. It ran for 20 min then got the Anti Drop Sensor message. Followed instructions to wipe sensors but still doing it. Now what?
Actually it's not every time due to water damage... electronic component can be short circuit, dusty or just burn n stop working...other reasons also possible...but most likely is left side anti drop sensors spoil...u can try to replace that side...I hope will fix
I keep getting the “please clean my anti-drop sensors” error message but I checked the robot inside out. There is no rust or water damage anywhere, sensors are very clean. I also did the test with the camera and see that all 3 sensors on the right side have no red light. What do you think could be the problem? The connections look tight and fine. I don’t have service centres near me and the machine is only 2 years old. I don’t want to create more waste if I can fix it myself. I have Deebot 950
I have the same exact issue with the same Deebot 950. I thought it was an issue with the bumper, got a remplacement, and still, so the problem is not the bumper. If I reverse he connectors on the bumper, all the sensor will light up, so it is a very strange issue.
Hi, Same problems @ my deepot, I changed all sensors, the three right sensors doesn't work. I tested with my mobile phone. I hope someone can Help as soon as possible.
U can try first manually with mobile camera.. check the sensors...there a video available how to check the sensors at home.... normally left side sensors always gives error
Yes plz check at my channel...there r 2 videos available..how to disassemble & how to assemble back...if you watch those 2 videos.. you will be able to open n fix back a deebot
Error msg appears in mobile app that plz clean my anti drop sensors??? Means might be Sensors too dusty or dust stick there or it's damage....u can try to clean first if still same then need to replace that sensors
@@ecovacstechnicalsupport5278 Same model/year and same situation. Mobile app says to clean sensors. Sensors are clean (no visible rust or damage), but they do not appear to be working when checking with my phone camera (no red light). Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
WTF !!! Faulty design and this video doesn’t help with anything!!! My vac is only 3.5 months old and it’s giving this error message!!! Where do we go???
