Thank you for doing this video. This is the best one I have seen on Plumbing valves for bags. Do you still have this setup? After this time, would you do it differently? If so, How? What valves did you use? What is the T with the smaller port for Sending unit for each bag called. I can find tons of Ts, but Non have that extra small port for the gauge sending unit. Also, Lastly, where did you source the Fittings from? I saw a few other vids where they recommended to stay away from the fittings at the local HW stores, saying they would not stand up to the 150+PSI in a bag system. Thank you for your time.
I am not using this setup now, but only because I got an accuair setup really cheap from a friend. You have lots of options for plumbing valves for air management, this was just a basic set up that I used for the video. It was planned to be used on the build but the build changed some. I have always liked having the valves plumbed close together and where I can access them in the case of a failure. This allows me to work on them in such a case. The tee is called a gauge tee. These are purchased from thorbeos.com. thorbros.com/products/brass-tee-with-1-8-line-90-deg-fitting You can make them if you have a brass tee and a tap set for 1/8”npt. As for the hardware store fittings, I have used some fittings from my local hardware store and even lowes. I’ve never had one fail but I don’t about the ratings. Things like reducer bushings and hex nipples would not worry me. I’ve also used compression Fittings from both in a bunch of builds with no issues. That’s just my experience though.
You need to control the flow from bag to bag. If you use 1 fill valve for all, when you are driving you will get body roll. As you take a curve the force on the airbags will not be even from the inside of the curve to the outside, this will result in the vehicle dramatically leaning. I will post a video later today to better explain it, I know I’m not the best at typing this kind of thing out. You could use less valves but it requires check valves to limit the flow from bag to bag
