I built the engine around 9 years ago and don't really remember how many hours it took. Initial builds always take a lot longer because of the design time. I could probably build it a second time in 60 - 80 hours.
Hi Chuck, I know this video is a couple of years old but I am interested in building one of these engines. Is it based on plans or your own design, I have seen videos of Henry Ford’s first engine and it looks similar. Do you have a source of plans or instructions you might be willing to share? Hi Raymond, we lost Chuck some time ago and that loss has left a very big hole in the model engineering community. He was a hell of a helpful guy and was always willing to share his knowledge and expertise.
