Only you can make them and it's exciting to see what's been your baby from conception to completion. I have a passing interest in sewing (small felt plushes, a posable art doll, a partial fursuit and costume clothes). I love your work, man. I always learn something new watching your videos 😊
Ah! Thank you so much! You’re so freakin sweet! I was really only shocked because I only ever get followers or views because of my fanart! (Seriously! My bluey video got like 700 views whereas Yesper’s video got like 150😂) I’m so glad you like my original characters though!!! It means a lot! I really enjoy your work and how you're educating folks. Fur is really terrible. I work with it all the time. I can offer a few tips: Wear a mask. It's all particles of microplastic. You don't want it in your lungs or bloodstream. Shave your seams down. That's right. Get a dog grooming tool and shave your seam allowance. Every piece. I did training by buying a $100 Russian tutorial with subtitles by an artisanal toymaker off Tedsby (or Bearpile, maybe). Real old school stuff, cause she didn't have a shaver, so she did it with little metal shears, so it was all stuff that could have been done 100 years ago to make a generational toy. So shaving the seams was very important. You can seal the backing with fray check if you want, but honestly, I've never needed to. Have a vacuum. I shave a piece or two, I vacuum. Everything immediately gets cleaned up. No time for particles to fly around everywhere. The shaving is a cleaning process, removing the bulk of fur you talked about being problematic. The fur will STILL SHED. As you handle things, vacuum every now and then. The vacuum is my best sewing friend. I also vaccum sewed pieces so they won't shed while the seam is picked out. And then after ALL THAT, you can glue the seams if you want! Fur is terrible. It has a lot of rules if you want to make it work for you. Good luck! EDIT: Also, you need a walking foot on your machine for fur! It will help with making the material go through the needle at the same time.

Maybe one day! As of right now I do have some beginner sewing tips over on my tiktok in a playlist called “how to plushie” and I also do monthly sewing advice calls for my bear tier patrons through discord! The next one is scheduled for later this month!
my first (and so far only) time using faux fur fabric was for a cape and all it was was lining for the bottom and omg I could NOT get it straight and had to go back for holes so many times its insane, so I can def agree with ur rant lol I admire ur persistance to use fluffy fabric even when having allergies on top of the regular problems

@@lauraswiftfoot3855 OH ABSOLUTELY NOT. I don’t use ANY fans in my sewing area… well, not until today lol! It was FAR too hot so I found a way to have a tower fan that didn’t blow everything around but I would NEVER use it if I were working with fur!😂
Haha! Mood! My sewing space is literally a tiny alcove in a hallway!😂 all my shop plushies, packaging materials, fabric, tools, and thread all have to fit in that tiny space and yet stay clear enough to make the videos I do! I swear, every artist should be given a complimentary art room!
I use PLENTY of minky fabric!😂 Not to mention I LOVE how long fur plushies like this one feel in the end! Things may have gone wrong, but that doesn’t mean I’m a beginner! I’ve been sewing and making my own patterns for 4 years now!😅
@@sewmicah Oh cool! I'm a beginner but I have dealt with to much fur myself. I only just found your channel via the recommended and its really cool! Most definently will look into it cause I've been trying to sew my characters myself. Also I understand dealing with certain fabrics over others because the outcome definently matters when it comes to design. Glad that your plushie at least came out sensory friendly for yourself! :D
