Today's The Day - Life is not short if you know how to use it. We have no control over the future (the not yet) fortune does. We have control over the now. Live with a sense of urgency. We need to drink from the elixir of life like it was a fast moving stream that is going to exhaust itself Create masterpiece days - eliminate distractions Exile - Don't worry about me mom I'm as happy as I've ever been. No one can take the most important thing from me which is the ability to choose how I'm going to respond to this situation and appreciate that nothing outside of me can every dictate my happiness. Don't you just love these Stoic philosophers? Cognitive reframing - when something happens to us we consciously choose to look at the something in a way that serves us - empower ourselves - acknowledge "what is" but respond to it the way that make us feel good. Wise WOOP- A lover of wisdom never assumes that everything is going to go perfectly because that's simply NOT WISE! Wish (we all have one) Outcome ( a plan without a goal remains a wish) Obstacles (there will be plenty of them) Plan (the target - can imagine shooting an arrow without a target- what's the point?) Set Sail - providing the circumstances allow me to. My Business is going to success unless it doesn't. We often times (most times) don't know our own best interest to embrace the uncertainty and pivot. BRING IT ON - The Tools....Rush Toward It - Embrace It Flexibility leads to tranquility Euthymia is a normal non-depressed, reasonably positive mood. It is distinguished from hyperthymia, which refers to an extremely happy mood, and dysthymia, which refers to a depressed mood. Fickle (lack commitment) - porridge is too cold Flexible- porridge is just right Obstinate (not opened to adapting)- porridge is too hot Relax our minds You can't constantly be on. Even a fertile farmland needs time to reproduce or it will lose its ability to reproduce. This is why I love working in time blocks. Dance Go for a walk Sing Engage in frivolity Loosen your grip but DON'T SEVER THE CONNECTION Awesome Brian. I really liked this one, full of wisdom Keep Pushing.

I strongly recommend you read about Islamic philosophers as well, as the likes of Al-Ghazali and roomi. I'm positive you'll find a lot of meaning in their words!
Love Rumi! (Visited his tomb in Konya years ago...) brianjohnson.me/philosophers-notes/rumi-daylight-rumi/ Just got Al-Ghazali. Thanks! Optimize is now free! Sign up/tell your friends! www.optimize.me
I would argue that you don't need a whole lifetime to experience life. If you live long enough, you will see things repeat themselves, the only thing different is the names involved. People forget the lessons thar were supposed to be learned from the mistakes of the past. The 2010's were just the 1960's all over again
