Pocklington - “Town of Pocel’s people”
Oh how I’ve been looking forward to this one. Welcome folks for the last time to the Western side of the East Riding of Yorkshire, as we take on the market town of Pocklington, both an ancient place and still extremely important in the modern age. It sits at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds, some 13 miles east of York, and 22 miles Northwest of Hull.
Pock as its known to the locals, punches well above its weight in terms of history and landmarks are plentiful.
So without further ado, lets go walking and check some out!

I went into a charity shop and found the same type of Douglas jacket my friend Harry has and in very good condition....he paid 300 brand new, I paid a tenner 🙂

Aw… that was nice, grew up in Pock 83-01, but parents and friends moved away so rarely visit now. It’s amazing to see what’s changed and what hadn’t, and it mostly hasn’t! Your video certainly satisfied a thirst nostalgia.

The main thing that bought me to your Pocklington site and some years back to the town was the Amusement Machine Museum. I know it is long since gone but it was an amazing place to visit, They put on a show you could never forget as well as the collection of machines.

Hi Andy Nikki Hannah and Lauren. Looks a busy place. With lots of amenities. Church floor is beautiful along with stainglass windows .. Beautiful memorial very respectful. Anything to do with the arts I find very Interesting. Some of the buildings are gorgeous. The older the better. WW1 memorial also very respectful. A brilliant video. Very informative. Thanks..
