You are wrong. It was rumored that Normal types don't get STAB, but they do in every game, even the RBY ones.

Same Type Attack Bonus. If a Pokémon uses a move that is the same as its type, the move will do 50% more damage.

i honestly think they use safeguard to keep you from confusing them to death. Thats how i beat the elite 4 when they were over 20 levels ahead of me. bwa ha ha

Well Colosseum had a storyline, it was like the Versions on the Gameboy and DS. In Battle Revolution, it was closer to this, where there were Cups, and you just do a bunch of Battles without a real storyline to it, but I see what you are getting at.

@ChrisTheBest1992 Seeing the most of the crits were not needed, I would have easily won anyway. Snorlax's Selfdestruct would have KO'd Lugia either way due to STAB. Electrode could have possibly defeated Mewtwo without crits due to parahax, and if Electrode went down to Ho-oh, Snorlax would have taken care of it with Body Slam. Plus, I had four other Pokemon.

How does snorlax self destruct? There's no possible way of that happening also it seemed kind of cheap to just do that instead of doing something else.
