I like the Idiot Child vibes of this This is roughly how I imagine things would go if you unleashed an 11-year-old into the wild and gave them full dominion over magical living creatures
@@castor2880 Oh ok thanks, just kind of thought that was the standard since America (or the uk, where I live) can sure give people a certain perspective
i love how red and gary arent really rivals in here. the part where they kick the squirtle around and both laugh while doing it really shows how they are just a couple of snotty 11 year olds just having fun. my favorite part was how you showed missingno in this, and how caterpie did the item underflow glitch either accidentally or purposefully to beat the game "in 12 minutes". this whole video was amazing, the sound choices were perfect, the style of animation was outstanding, the humor was obviously great for most people. thank you for making great content
It's actually pretty clever how this subverted expectations by not using any of the Starters, the protagonist and rival bonding over abusing monsters and making good use of all the lost Pokemon.
The fact that you can tell a coherent and interesting story through a 10+ minute animation without using a single piece of dialog really shows how fluent and expressive your animations are! Great stuff, love all the references and the use of beta designs! The sound design is excellent as well. You deserve *many* more subscribers man! The same goes for Golfinho!
The bit with Mario and Wario, i completely forgot it was developed by Game Freak before Pokemon. Now listening to the OST, we definately see where the music from Pokemon came from.
Genuinely one of the most impressive reimaginings of this story. Really enjoy the sound design and flanderization of the concepts. Especially love that the characters actually act like their age. I genuinely can't get over how funny it was seeing Red beat the hell out of one of Blue's Pokémon and him thinking it was funny as well and even joins Red. The friendship had an unimaginable layer to it. Would genuinely love to see you tackle a "Gold & Silver" next, if only because you could do some amazing foreshadowing with it due to the games ending up back in Kanto at the end. After that, I would be fully satisfied with the Pokémon ones ending there since I would not see much reason to do all the games. Maybe a separate one for "Black & White" specifically in the far future due to how much story there is to mock, but then you'd have to account for the sequel too and that could be lengthy. Genuinely great stuff here, though. True visual storytelling at its finest. I will be keeping my eye on this channel.
@@xandrecos I Think you Should do "Super Mario World in Minutes ANIMATED" with the Sound Effects & Soundtrack of Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, Super Puyo Puyo & Super Puyo Puyo Tsuu
I love how the rejected beta Pokémon part was acting like zombies although the ending made me feel sorry for how Sansdrew ended good animation my friend
The animation is very expressive and it really makes you follow the actions. It's a really cool idea to animate the ideas of these early pokemon games!
god I love watching you guys' stuff a lot, not only is the animation super expressive and fun. But the writing is so off the walls insane with a new curve ball every couple of seconds it fits the unhinged visuals perfectly. Good stuff, keep it up. edit: forgot to mention how you go the extra mile and make stuff like the Pokemon being sent out and the sound effects more like the original game. Nice touch.
8:44 the transition from 8 bit sound effects and the occasional cartoon running sound effect to realistic pig squealing and fart sound effects killed me 💀
I love the foreshadowing of the cut beta Pokémon sprites and Sugimori's early concept art on the walls of Oak's Lab. I also liked how the animator drew the Pokémon closely based on their sprites from Red and Blue/Green; you can really tell with Oddish, Squirtle, and Charmander. The sound design and animation are fantastic throughout the video. I'm looking forward to whatever you two make next!
I loved the way its animated and the jokes were hilarious. Sure, the animal abuse was kind of a turn-off that made my heart sad (especially when charmander was being pummeled and kicked), but hey, at least the humor of it all made me enjoy the rest of it.
Damn, just got here from Pokemon Gold, but this videa is also really impressive, what great animation, sound design and storytelling. Love how we can see that you really love beta mons (and bullying lol)
the decision to keep it black and white to remain faithful to the Game Boy but also your silent cartoon-esque style was very ingenious, it feels like I’m watching a 1920s cartoon and a Game Boy at the same time!! This is how I interpreted those old graphics way back when
The way you've conveyed exactly how kids felt while playing such specific moments of the game -- Misty's first appearance, the Drowzee, Slowbro, it's all so uncannily accurate. Weird that this video doesn't have 1mil views already, but hey the Gold one is even better.
I love the use of the beta tracks, I love the story with the sound effects and music from the game. Very clever. I love red's fuckin speedo and manboobs😭 Also, the beta pokemon are VERY creepy. That fuckin gorochu tho
C'mon people, give Xandrecos' works a like and subscribe >:0
Caterpie, the true star of Pokemon. I love what you did with it, from its personality to its big beautiful eyes. (I'm not sure what you intended near the end, but I don't think that Red wanted to kill Sandshrew. I think he was being a punk when he saw that it was crying and clinging to him.)
Not a 90s (2002) kid but I beat blue for the first time a few days ago. I was very mean to mine because they kept missing at critical moments. I regret that in hindsight but man game especially end game can be frustrating. Currently playing through red to complete my Pokédex which I’m blue sits around 120 currently. Yes the video encapsulates the gen 1 experience well.
Can someone explain the Drowzee scene? It's the abrupt beginning and vulgarity of it all that made me laugh the hardest, yet idk what happened lol. I remember in the game it was Rocket that ransacked the place or Dugtrio doing it or something. And why does Drowzee look so depressed after?
Me encanta como logra adaptar las animaciones cómo atrapar pokemon, o el blanco y negro, los sonidos, el estilo de animación, el humor, la trama, y que todo salga bien
