This time I show you how to use a Puller Bung in your pole. The Puller Bung is a simple, but very effective means of gaining greater control when playing larger fish.
Before the advent of the Puller Bung, a large fish would take out long lengths of elastic and the only way to counter this was to leave additional pole sections connected as you tried to land the fish.
Failure to leave these sections attached meant that we had no real control over where the fish went in the final stages of the fight.
In practice, this could lead to all sorts of problems including being buried in rushes or even around the legs of wooden platforms.
The Puller Bung has removed all this uncertainty and it is so easy to use, you would have thought someone would have come up with it years ago.
