I think they were all just terrified to move their cars at all. There were 25 police cars circling the area,blasting down neighborhood streets and even flying through the air and crashing, all with zero regard for anyone’s life. So yeah, the public was aware and stayed out of their way

I don't immediately pull off when the light turns green. I can't count the number of times I've had the right away and cars just flew through the red light.

Loved how our officer slammed the door shut and didn't even engage. If anyone needed water it's the ASP on scene. Yeah, two chargers blew up, all in a days work in these parts. Couldn't be prouder ❤

I’ve always wondered that, too. After a long, high-speed chase followed by a god-awful crash, and within a split second the driver has the door open and is running. How does that even happen? You’d think the airbag deployment would’ve knocked him down a little, but nooooo. The car has barely come to a stop and they’re out and running.

In Denmark it's called the KR-shield .... they all have it (KR = Kriminal Register) ... it's bulletproof too :D

The motors in those chargers r know to blow up they start tapping then knocking then they throw a rod threw the block & blow hot oil all over the exausht. This is why a lot of departments got rid of them. Plus the front ends dont hold up & wear out fast. The brakes r not big enough & the doors r so heavy & big they wear out the hinges then the doors dont close. Chrysler/Dodge should not have rushed the cars onto the market they where the first comp out with the new patrol car. Ford & chevy took almost half to 3/4 more of a year of testing before they brought out there cars

Hope he learned to not over drive his brakes when they get hot. He could have killed kids playing in that yard he had to cut through because he was going too fast :(

Also, extended periods of restricted breathing can suffocate someone especially when already depleted from activity and adrenaline. Was he fine? Probably. For Violent Robberies that include assault with injury or death, Murder and kidnapping are Major Crimes that should be the ONLY time police should be allowed pursuits like this because the consequences for low level crimes are Not worth the risks Dangerous High Speed Pursuits are Not worth the possible consequences of death and injury to the public or the cops and criminals. Their Must be Laws made to distinguish what crimes permit police to perform these H.S.P.'s and pit maneuvers and low level ones that shouldn't, because the injuries/deaths associated with the H.S.P.'s are NOT worth their usual outcomes. I think we should get Federal and State JUDGES, even the Supreme Court (SCOTUS) to make anyone who does a Carjacking and multiple victims, or even one carjacking and a lot of property damage--SHOULD GET THE DEATH PENALTY. One fool with a gun who goes on a "multiple-can-jacking-spree" can do hundreds of thousands or over a million dollars of property damage in a very short order. Because they steal a car that costs them nothing, then they use it as a weapon or battering ram to bulldoze their way through a lot of innocent car owner victims, who get hit, bumped, scratched, banged up, and even the Police can't get every single car owner insurance or crime-victim's compensation for their property damage. We Americans need to have a brainstorming session to think up ways to stop high-speed-eluders of the Police, Nationwide in short order. How about the Los Angeles CA TV Show "Bait-Car" do you all remember it? The technology used in those cars, to shut them down, maybe could be put in almost every new car sold in America, so that if the R.O. (Registered Owner) reported it stolen, either the Car Dealership, or Police, or Car Owner etc, could go on a computer and shut down the electronic ignition system, so that the car would not drive. Also see the new "Grappler-Device" invented in Canada. Every Police Car in America, should eventually be equipped with some type of grappler device to stop cars from behind or from the side etc. Just Google search it!

Mandatory or minimum Mandatory doesn't mean anything, judges can't still do whatever they want. Here's the problem and this happens in every state, sentences have time suspended because our jails and prisons are over crowded, it's a revolving door. We have so many criminals and not enough prisons hence everyone gets reduced time, republican and Democrat it all works the same. The public doesn't want to pay more in taxes for more workers, new facilities. Lots of our prisons are so old they need to be upgraded and done away with and unfortunately republican and Democrat leaders haven't done anything to help with this. If you want criminals to serve full sentences we need twice as many prisons because they will fill up quick. Here's a example, a 15 year sentence for robbery will be knocked down to 5 years, plea deals can do away with the minimum Mandatory charge. It's how the justice system has worked in every state for over two decades, only the most serious crimes are served their full sentence, murder as a example. I'm not saying all these crimes aren't serious but that's how it is, only the worst crimes. It sucks and will continue to happen until we build more prisons and jails
