If you don’t eat, it’ll last for 4 hours. That didn’t work for me, so I started searching for alternatives and came across your video. It answered my question perfectly. Thank you!
I put two small strips of Fixodent around the inside and outside of my lower. Then I tap in some Fixodent powder and tap to spread it around; then over my upper so the excess goes there. I spray both with room temperature water, three to five on fine mist setting to wet the powder. Rinse my mouth with warm water, and put both in. Within fifteen minutes neither will move, but I still wait thirty to forty-five minutes. At this point I can eat anything, and swish water around to rinse my mouth. As he stated, I could easily sleep in them and keep going the next day. I have not yet gone the next day, but I have been so tired as to sleep in them.
I'm only six weeks into this and haven't used any adhesive yet. My top plate has good suction and don't really expect to have a problem with it, but the bottom plate is another story. My dentist put in a soft reline, but it's still too loose and needs to be redone. Anyway, today instead of starting with an adhesive first, I tried Sea-Bond. I don't know how this works for some people, but it is worthless and I tried a couple of times, but it didn't even hold for ten minutes. Sad to say, but my dentist gave me a sample of this Poligrip. Haven't tried it yet. I also ordered Fixodent max and the powder, since from what I'm seeing on youbloob, it seems to be the best. The dentists don't want to tell you what to use or how to do it. They want you to pay them forever!
Hi Justin, just want to let you know how informative your videos are. I've learned so much from your videos from product reviews to tips and tricks! Please keep your videos coming! I watch a lot of denture folks on RU-vid and you're my favorite go to guy! Before I forget, 😆, which comes with age, I went to Affordable Dentures for my dental needs here in Central Florida, I opted for IV sedation which was an additional $500.00. For my situation due to high anxiety, etc, it was money well spent. This service was provided in July of 2022! They are caring folks for sure. Thank you Justin for all your videos!
Thank you. I don’t blame you for getting sedated. I wanted to but they didn’t offer it. But after said and done, I am glad I didn’t get sedative because it wasn’t too bad for me.
I use the 12 hr and it was actually very effective. What I am doing now is combining fixodent powder and 12 hour and seeing how long this holds combined. The polo grip actually held more than 12 hours by itself:)))
I’m new into my denture journey. This is the first adhesive I have used. I only have an upper plate. I tried it yesterday. It did not hold my denture. Then when I took my denture out last night, it was really disgusting and I had to keep scraping my gum. Am I doing something wrong?
I used this today as a test. It held up well until i drank my coffee. It disappeared from my lower denture within an hour. I'll stick to my fixodent powder.
I've only ever used the poli grip because I can't stand the sweet taste of fixodent. I've wondered about trying the Walmart brand of fixodent but it's probably got that same flavor. Is there any type of fixodent that doesn't have the sweet flavor to it?
I tried fixodent a couple of times and it holds so well but to me it tastes very sweet and at times a nasty flavor comes and goes. It's supposed to be flavor free. But then again I seem to have very heightened senses. Smell, hearing, taste. It could have something to do with my adhd. So I use the poligrip max ultra with poligrip powder. It's not the best but at least I can't taste it. Maybe I will find something better.
@@gloomy8504 there’s definitely a sweet taste to it at times and while using it for a few days I got the worst taste in my mouth at times. It was so awful I threw away an almost full tube of it lol
I use Polygrip gel adhesive and Polygrip Powder together… it doesn’t work as well for me. It works for a couple of hours at the most before my bottom dentures are loose and I have to reapply.
Hi Justin, I am kinda new to your channel, it's good to listen to your feedback on these matters. I have only used fixodent and it kinda works ok, but....the clean-up operation afterwards when I take them out is hard work, I find myself scraping the goo away from my gums and it even makes me wrench at times, have you any tips/advice about removing dentures after using fixodent? P.S. I am only 3 month into having my temp dentures, I get my final set in January.
You may be using too much adhesive. I found later on that I was using too much and when I cut back there was less to clean up. But I run my brush under hot water then scrub my gums. It comes off easily
Thank you for all your videos, Justin. I am just 1 week and 1 day post Eday and was given this Poligrip as a sample from the dentist. I can only use a small amount at the far back bottom right now as I’m still healing. Sadly, I’ve had no luck with it. The lower pops right off even just from talking! I feel encouraged by your review that there is a better product to try. Thank you!!!
I waited until 6 months to use adhesive paste.I used Sea Bond for the lower denture and comfort grip for the top until I got my soft reline, then just used SeaBond for lower.I just got perms 2 weeks ago and been using Fixodent which seems to hold all day till bedtime.
I found the complete opposite…fixodent doesn’t hold more then 5-6 hrs for me but poligrip holds 12 hrs for me and I waited 1year to get my comfortlite dentures after extraction…I did not use my immediate because I hated then felt like horse teeth in my mouth and love my comfortlites ..but fixodent does not work for me
