Absolutely. Obviously when you're very left, everything looks right to you (including left of centre) and sometimes this pod suffers from that blindness.
@hapijoel7569 compared to what far left meant 10 years ago, they absolutely are. The far left 10 years ago, is being called centre by some in the left and I've even had people slate Keir Hardie and say his views are irrelevant and right wing.
"I don't think anyone's going to fix dentistry" -> the main thing that would fix that is free movement of people. All my NHS dentists for the last 15+ years were European.
I have a Spanish partner, it's cheaper for me to fly to Madrid and see her dentist than it is for me to go to a private here lol, much quicker too when I don't have to wait 2 months for a consultation appointment and then another month to actually be seen. You just make an appointment, go in and then have the work done. This country is a joke when it comes to public services, total scam.
It'd be really funny if 'Joe' was actually Joseph Stalin and they weren't reasonable lefties but actually completely mad Stalinists keeping it under wraps with nonce jokes
"No one is saying do what France have offered, open up a centre in Calais and process asylum claims there." Um.... that's EXACTLY what Labour have said they'll do?
@@GiveMeBourbon Ours is depressing because everyone in charge is so stupid they couldn't find their way out of a paper bag. American politics is depressing because the people in charge are so rabidly mental they would set fire to the paper bag and blame the left for everyone's third degree burns.
Totally agree! I live in a very small.spanish village where dental treatments are about 1/3 of the cost in the uk, offering better quality products and you can whatsapp for an almost instant appointment. Many of my uk friends come over to see me and access all their dental treatments whilst here . Even with flights and accommodation, they save huge amounts of money and receive private care. Why are dental services so expensive in the uk?
If these contracts dont include clawback provisions for Fujitsu supplying completely inadequate software then the people who wrote up those contracts really do deserve punishment. How long until Sunak wheels out the "commercially sensitive" line again I wonder?
70% of crops grown are fed to animals for animal agriculture, so eating plants directly rather than eating animals still reduces animal harm from combine harvesters because fewer crops would have to be grown and harvested.
Ed's Pocketcam has revealed Oli's right leg is the flywheel to his body, jiggling away to store the potential hot-take energy so it can be released at any time.
To Ed (and anyone else reading this) please dont leave your phone in your top pocket. It can cause arrythmia - happened to my Dad. The small print in a phone's legal disclaimer does warn of this, but it feels like nobody knows! Love the pod!
I found one study that stated this, but it was on a group of less than 200 people, measured changes that are well within the margin of error and according to said study, women are just immune, not to mention the phone being at belt level is worse? Plus they only noticed changes when it was actively ringing, which doesn’t make sense as phones are constantly emitting radio waves, suggesting it may be more that the surprise of the phone ringing briefly jolts the heart. I’d love to explain further but the paper was 3 pages and didn’t go into methodology anywhere close to enough even criticise it, that it got published at all is a nonsense. The other studies showed no statistically significant changes, even in people with heart conditions. The one aspect that may lead to issues is magnets near a pacemaker, which is a real concern, not unique to phones, but still best to avoid it, because it could potentially cause real issues. And to clarify, not calling you a liar or anything. There’s every chance I missed a better study, but the only papers I found didn’t show anything of the sort, and the only articles I found discussing it were from tabloids scaremongering, and about the potential interference with pacemakers. I’m sorry your dad had arrhythmia, can be really scary, hope he’s okay! TL;DR there’s nothing to worry about where you place your phone (unless you have a pacemaker where it *probably* won’t do any damage, but it’s best not to just in case)
@@agathacrisps4957 whatever you would normally wear, personally I normally wear T-shirts and beyond and would be your daily clothing choice as a vest is part of underwear
@@DamBrookswell, you only specified a t-shirt. Are you some sort of exibitionist? Not clothing yourself in the imaginations of those who read your comments in nothing more than a vest and t-shirt? Wont your bum be cold? 😮
Another example (Fujistsu), of where the Conservative government have spent out millions on a not fit for purpose product. How many more examples do people need. Where are the stops and checks? Where are the product requirements and contracts/briefs/quality control? Lets not even go to the NHS computer systems
@@stephenwood2172 pretty sure you are correct with that, I see them all as being corrupt, and these huge expenditures are just a way of defrauding public money.
Having grown up in Leigh on sea, I think Anna Firth may be overselling the razor clam brexit industrial boom. There is about 10 ratty trawlers there, and the diesel run off from the large ships heading up to Tilbury infests the mud turning it black when you dig in. I would rather eat from a skip than a clam from there.
Reduction in Albanian small boats numbers mostly due to the fact that we’re now giving Albanians who want to come here visas… so they don’t need to come by boat…
They have those wires (eurvs) around Jewish neighbourhoods in London too. There’s one around Golders Green and weirdly one around Primrose Hill, I imagine there are others further north too.
A non-Jew who is employed to do things that Orthodox Jews are not permitted to do on Shabbat is called a “Shabbos goy”. An “eruv” is a piece of string around an area (there’s one in Golders Green too) which allows Orthodox Jews to carry things outside the home as that’s interpreted as working on the sabbath by some denominations. As such some Jews will also wear things like keys as necklaces as you aren’t carrying it if it’s jewellery. There’s some interesting loopholes Orthodox Jews use sometimes…
Something missed was in KS 3rd question the speaker needed to calm things down (as per usual) and poonts to Starmer and says "mr prime minister" (not the first time, but still funny)
Fujitsu told the Post Office about the bugs and they decided to prosecute the postmasters anyway. They're not innocent but don't get caught up in the blame game. If certain government contracts don't get renewed I'm out of a job I kinda need 😢
Re the Razor Clam section, while Vegans like myself would love to eradicate all suffering, we aren't gullible to believe that veganism eradicates all suffering. The point is to remove as much suffering as possible. It is a common misnomer used by non-Vegans, though appreciating the team hasn't meant it in a negative way.
22:06 Something like "If we're beeing fucked, we might as well [get some satisfaction out of it]". Like, ok Fujitsu, you are getting shitloads of government contracts through some shady backroom dealings. Then atleast deliver a product that fucking works as promised.
Not trying to defend Fujitsu in a big way here, crap software is not good value for money of course. But the reason there's a big compensation bill here is the way the Post Office handled the situation with the victims. Post Office is the primary culprit. I guess there's a case for the Post Office to sue Fujitsu....
Can ah just remind people the tories huv been in power for 14years n they only decided to step in on the postmaster scandal coz ITV made ah drama about it , plus it had Toby Jones in it , if ITV did ah drama about the fact junior doctors (apparently) only get paid £15 an hour starring Toby Jones then the Tory / orange party would’ve stopped fannying about trying to drum ah culture war about it and made them ah decent offer as well

6:39 Sunak is so slow. How on earth could he not work in a jibe about Starmer getting elected to labour leadership based on left wing pledges and then dropping every single one of them and kicking out the people who elected him based said abandoned pledges?
If you don't want to watch them and you keep bringing up they tell too many jokes or 'press here to skip', why ARE you still here and not just watching the PMQs itself instead or another channel? I'm here because I actually like the presenters and enjoy their commentary.
@@PoliticsJOEI like to believe that you never speak to each other outside of the podcast studio and are all deposited there in hermetically sealed bubbles and are then transported away separately.

its not at all possible to put "hot left wing anti right wing takes" somewhere in the title?????????????? this channel markets itself as a channel for ALL yet its clearly a left wing labour supporting channel. ffs just put it in the description!!!!!!!!!!!!! its not fucking hard mate.
All these fannies complaining about you not doing enough politics need to get a life. It’s what makes this podcast, and if you don’t like it, just go and listen to Times Radio. Bring back the nonsense!
I watch it for both. Their interviews and legwork is all 100% taken seriously, as it should be, however this podcast is a good chance to have a more casual take on it with some humour as well. The news is fucking grim, and it balances it very nicely
