I knew none of this! WOW thank you for helping us be health and safety conscious. I don’t know where you got all your knowledge, but you are well informed and you are so appreciate. Thank you!😊
Also melts Styrofoam and certain plastit's in a white ooze is around the edge of the clay. I have been called a liar from saying this and I tell people, I'm not lying 😤
Yep!! It is safe to use in a home oven if following recommended guidelines such as baking at correct time for your clay brand (should be on the packaging) and not cooking food at the same time that you are baking your clay. A convection oven is a great choice since the circulation of air distributes heat more evenly and is more energy efficient than a large oven. Of course you can use your large home oven as well. Hope that helps!
@@lsy124xD Hi Lesya! Yes you can use the same oven and tray. If you securely line your tray with something a new foil per setting, you do not need to clean. But if you use parchment paper, you should scrub with dish-wash soap before switching b/w food because paper is porous. I normally place a ceramic tile on the tray so that no cleaning necessary since plasticizer can not leech through ceramic. Also if using foil, you can place parchment paper on top of the foil when baking clay - the parchment paper prevents the underside from baking shiny. Hope this helps, and best of luck to you!
Bro i just learned there were multiple types of plastic because of this lol. I had a plastic container that wouldnt melt from clay i put in it which confused me since other plastics i have sometimes does melt when in prolonged contact
I have a really bad nail biting habit to the point I'm never aware I'm even biting, but I don't want the clay in my mouth, are typical disposable gloves ok to wear or would the clay just melt it or cause issues, if gloves are ok to use what gloves are best?
Hi Shephanos! I heard good things about blue Nitrile gloves or latex gloves (if you're not allergic to latex) that clayers often use to work with polymer clay. You want to get it as snug of a fit as possible to minimize wrinkles. The brand SemperGuard by Nitrile are popular because it's thin, stretchy and retain some sensation of touch.
