I’ve always disliked the 996 generation but I’ve grown to love this generation now. Something about this car is so raw and so beautiful. I personally have a 997.1 turbo manual and love that car but this 996 is just so good! Love your car man.
I wish you would make more videos. Like I miss how it was when you were on mustang lifestyle. I feel like everyone likes your style. Idk I just really miss seeing your enthusiasm for cars. Your attitude always kept me motivated and interested in all the vids you were in no matter if it was about making horsepower or just putting a sticker on your car(same thing I guess😂😂).... awesome vid as always btw👍🏻
Got to say.. I didnt like how it sound until u drove it. Upper rpm sound when driving sounds real good. I got a 996 cab so im looking for inspiration : )~
I have same setup on 997.1 c2 love the sound. Every time need to do state inspection have to switch back to stock cats bcz air injection monitor won't get ready to pass inspection and after inspection x pipe back again
Hey man there are some fister muffler vids out there you can check them out, basically he's got a catless X pipe so by removing the cat it makes it way louder
Chris Histed Thanks! Engine wise, just the x pipe and mufflers. In this video there’s also GT3 spec O.Z wheels, H&R Sport lowering springs and a baffled deep sump oil pan.
MichaelCassin literally zero drone, the car is whisper quiet cruising between 2-3k rpm with the windows up and down. It’s loud when you want, and quiet when you don’t I love it
Any noticable power loss or gain? With the car having so little torque, I am always afraid no cats will make it worse. I am in tampa with an 02 996...was the mod hard to do?
There's a slight torque loss below 4k rpm mainly between 3k-3.5k rpm. You will always loose some low end torque with a catless x-pipe. Headers and a tune can combat this and bring in a good mid-range gain. Between 4.5k-redline the car is noticeably faster. Not the hardest thing to install. Getting the stock pipes separated can be the hardest part. IMO, it's the best value exhaust setup
Definitely a top end gain but not 30 hp worth. It's also worth noting any low end torque loss due to the removal of the cats. A tune would definitely help both areas
That has to be fun! I wish my Dad was into cars...he does like them...but not enough to fight my Mom to get one. However, I think he wishes I was into golf LOL. Car is coming along awesome man! This Porsche stuff gets in the blood and gets a hold of you for sure!
Looks like I need this. I am just never pleased with my exhaust. Deletes? Too droney Stock? Too quiet Fabspeed Maxflow? Too quiet Fister? Better but too quiet Fister + Gundo? Better but too quiet Need something less that deletes but more than modded.
Totally agree, John. Have the gundo but its not enough. I'm thinking 200 cell cats plus fabspeed supercup might be the ideal way to go on my 997.1 non PSE
