It is definitely where the money and market is. I built my own Porsche supercar. A 73 with a tuned 3.6 engine. 320Hp in a 2300 pound car. RUF started my love of tuned 911s after visiting his factory and sitting in the original yellowbird.
I prefer the original 911 torsion bar chassis myself as being more pure than the 964 or 993. There's just something in it's simplicity. Being a legend doesn't hurt either. Your build is very stout and is probably one of the best drives on the planet. Keyboard racers won't get past HP number. No one can describe the feeling so it's of no use to change their minds, lol.
I saw the Singer DLS at Rennsport Renunion VI and the Gunthers at Luftgekulht...... they are beyond gorgeous and beasts to match! Pictures don't do any of them justice.
Gunther Werks, Singer and Ruf are all making such great versions of the 911 that I can´t decide what I like the best. Btw I highly recommend the video of AutoTopNL driving the SCR on the Autobahn. Eargasmic sounds
Not seen a video from this channel before. Beautiful. I got to the end and noticed the number of subs you have and was gob smacked. If you can retain this kind of quality, there's no doubt you'll become a big channel in a short space of time. All the best.
Good and informative video. IMHO Porsche does offer products still rooted in the belief of small & nimble. It's just not in the 911 range. The Boxster Spyder and Cayman GT4 (RS) are great and also available with a manual transmission.
well put together video... Singer got the look that you can drive every day, Gunther werks is when you need to make a statement, and ruf simplicity is made to be driven very hard
thanks'! arc driver', gunthers speedster re master', and project tornado', so sweet'! plus all the other cars shown looking' dreamy' as well'. would love to see one these builders do a porsche cayman! or a old mid engine speedster! love it peace
Absolutely loved the video, the quality of the images would be my only real point you should improve on but I understand why those are low quality sometimes. Really hope you channel grows.
Wooooow !!! Video is nearly PERFECT…. But wats up with my guy @RWB ……. Akira Nakai. Again love the video tho. I fell in love with Porsche when The original Bad Boyz movie came out & next to my apartment building as a child there was an all Black 944 I just thought it was the most beautiful Car I ever seen, use to walk down the block when I always had to go up the block lol
Thanks for watching. RWB only modifies the exterior of cars and does not enhance the performance, so their cars wouldn't be on the performance level as modern day supercars.
‘72 carrera RS with the martini livery would be my dream car…..or even one of these tuners modern day interpitation of one would be even better….i love the duckbill spoiler and 1/4corner wrap front and rear blinkers of the early 70’s add that to a 4.2 litre twin turbo 700+ hp motor with a third petal……guarunteed a good time😊😊😊 every time
The CTR Anniversary has been sold out for a long time, and the CTR is only available in LHD, hence not for sale in the UK, Australia etc. Gunther won't even answer your emails if you're from a RHD country. Maybe they should be re-named 'Cunther Werks'? But Paul Stephens in the UK however will sell you a RHD air-colled restomod & have flawless workmanship.
The Cayman and Boxter are the spiritual successors to the old 911s. Those are the purist Porsches. So they still make cars for purists but with the engines in the right place.
Ruf Porsche design is the pinnacle of automotive industry. There is nothing you can compare with Ruf models .I know the are very, very expensive but ars rare birds .The best car what you can buy .Nothing else is even close to them .
I subscribed the min singer hit the screen I would live in a van to own a singer one day ima single parent girl dad and once she is grown and out of college 6yrs give or take my conquest begins
13:11 "which begs the question..." no it doesn't, it raises the question, or just pose it directly. "Begging the question" is actually a rare logical fallacy; abusing the phrase because it seems to have more rhetorical heft is just wrong. Other than that, nice video. It's interesting to see how and where each company chooses to refine our improved the design vs. staying true to the original. The Singer Classic is so subtle, then the DLS moves the engine air intake to the rear side window
There is a company called Stedson, and it’s very similar with Singer.. in that they modify 964’s with carbon parts… and the “new parts” kinda remind me of the Gunther Works Headligjts and rear light bar that goes across 3 panels.
All wheel and good for the extremely wealthy but if you’re a regular slob like me get a 981 Boxster S or Cayman S. My Boxster S with lithium battery, gutted front trunk and light weight exhaust weighs 3000 lbs. with headers and stage two tune makes about 365-370hp. It handles better than a 911 being mid engined and is much easier for novices like me to drive quickly. It’s so good I honestly don’t hunger for these monsters. I’d worry constantly about damaging them and they can’t be utilized safely or legally on the street at anywhere near their limits. Extremely cool just not attainable , useable or practical.
981 Boxster GTS owner myself. I have little desire to up the power as I can already find myself going inappropriate speeds even without trying. I would have more desire for tunes if I were tracking it, but I already have a sports bike for track duty.
I hunger for them just to look at them, they are automotive jewelry, I could have one in my living room. But otherwise I am absolutely happy with my 982 Boxster S. 😊
RUF makes there own chassis. The new yellowbird. Is not a Porsche. But Porsche 911 inspired car. Plus it's not air cooled. Not being critical I really like their car's. They have there own engine's too. All this is only when the make there own cars. Not turning
Maybe we should thank Porsche for letting this market flourish and not trying to interpeed to make money. I think this is good for Porsche because now they hav super cool “halo” cars that they don’t even need to pay for. Free marketing because we as the normal won’t afford the singer and buy a cheap 718 and continue dreaming.
Generally a good presentation. The guntherwerks 911/993 is modified from a stock 993 equally or less than a Singer 73 RS style is from 964. Sounded like that was presented incorrectly to me. The guntherwerks comment you made sounded like that was a huge departure from stock but the Singer wasn’t?
Not only have Porsche, Lamborghini and Ferrari abandoned the purest, they're all moving towards battery cars as well. It won't be much longer before all IC engines are phased out and replaced with batteries!!!
Not to be sour grapes, but the downside to these companies going after (predominantly) the 964 variants is that the cost of untouched 964’s is now through the Ruf (see what I did there?) and makes them all largely unobtainable to those of us that long for an un-Singered 911. Just my thoughts, and not discrediting the design and engineering achievements of Singer, Guenther Werks, etc….again, just my thoughts.
They are just HUGE and from the rear, 992 doesn't look like traditional Porsche 911 anymore. It's a supercar and superbly built machine but has very little resemblance to the original.
It’s a shame car companies don’t cater to the customers and give them what they desire and at the price they can afford, what they desire the most as personal transport beased on all that has been ,blame the inflexible production methods and profitability margins and the fact that whoever many times businesses bull shit us with customer satisfaction and just plane customer being the king is what companies are about instead of just sucking the maximum profits out of society.
I think 🤔 it's because there is no revolution. It may surprise you to find out that shock horror people have been moding cars from the beginning of cars. Glad I could help.🙂
Purists don't dig RWB. Ironic since Nakai-san pays homage to the 935 style widebodies beautifully, they aren't too far removed from some of Singers widebodies.
Because, the ultra wealthy… Seriously, 1 million dollar air cooled Porsches. When I was in my 20s I figured I’d be able to save and one day own an older 911 for around $50-60k… not even 20 years later, and here we are.
