It must've been a favourable weather forecast for several days hence...... The Vstrom's out! I enjoyed the look around Portwrinkle, its always a joy to see these out of the way places + it saves me from having to visit Cornwall! 😛👍
It’s a lovely ride and one of the few places you can ride along the coast, which is surprising considering Cornwall has over 300 miles of coastline. Many thanks for watching 👍🏼
My daughter lives in downderry so travel that round often 😊 , lovely walk around rame head to the church, thank you for another great video, love the bike 👍
What a lovely area to live in. I love the road alongside the coast there. I’ve been to Rame ahead a time or two…something quite special about it. Thanks TT. The Strom is hitting all the spots so far 👍🏼
Haha Jeff. Loving the earrings ! I went on holiday to Seaton a couple of times as a kid, so thanks for the memories ! You had a lot of horses to deal with in this video Jeff. In my next video I have a great many goats !!! I really do like your "Bee-Strom". It's the sort of bike that I'd have if I ever found myself in a position to do some motorcycle travelling. We clearly both have excellent taste ! Thanks for taking me to Portwrinkle, not a place I'd ever heard of before. Cheers Jeff, love to you and Twinks ! Garry & Ruby
Imagine Twinks’ disappointment when I said they weren’t for her 🤣 Horse play for me, acting the goat for you? The Bee Strom is ticking all the boxes so far, just need to see how it goes with Twinks aboard but I’m confident. I’m really enjoying it. Many thanks Garry, love to both from Twinks and me ❤️
@@Saddlebags73 😂😂😂 Oh that would have been really brutal if you'd taken Twinks into a jeweller's shop and then sought out a nice pair of earrings, only for her to find out that they were for your bloody Bee-Strom !!! Calming that particular storm down could have ended up being really quite expensive for you 😂 Sorry Twinks but you'd better get used to it. Men and motorbikes. All reason tends to go out of the window ! Good luck with the relationship counselling Jeff, I'm sure you'll both be able to work through it 😂 Love from España Garry & Ruby
@@neilmackinnon3371 It’s been horrendous so that’s good going. I’m still at the stage of not wanting to get it dirty 🫣 but I’ll get used to it. Looking forward to trying the bike 2-up, but I’m confident it’s going to work.
They sure know how to name a place down by you Portwrinkle...an old sailors haunt perhaps 🤔😉😂 Gwen's looking good and all dressed up for the dancing now with her earrings and a lobectomy. I'm loving the sound of that V-twin it must be like music to the ears as you go up and down the box. It's a pity Twinks didn't join you for this one, it strikes me as the sort of place she'd enjoy.
🤣 there was several wrinklies there. Some priddy with her jewellery eh 😍 Yes, I’m really enjoying the Strom and the wee vee is quite satisfying. It was actually a bit of a horrible day. I went through 3 or 4 showers and it’s still a bit chilly for Twinks. It’ll soon be warm enough and I’m looking forward to taking her out on the back. Thanks Mr Wolf, all the best to both 👍🏼
It has its downsides, particularly in the summer when everywhere by the coast is heaving with campers and caravans, but I love it 🙂 Thanks Bandit, some priddy in her jewellery eh! 🤣
Such a ideal bike that, really nice. Lovely shots and that new camera really made it all pop. Lovely place to chill for a bit. It needs a pasty shop or something though 👍
The Strom is hitting all the spots so far. Soon it’ll be warm enough to see how Twinks feels on the back. Definitely needs a pasty shop. As good a place as any to nosh one whilst taking in the surroundings 😎 Cheers ER 👍🏼
Only because I was on camera. I usually pull wheelies and hold it on the rev limiter 🤪 Just kidding of course. I have inadvertently spooked horses before. They can be a danger to the rider and yourself. A few seconds out of my day for peace of mind is no big deal 😎 Thanks Patrick 👍🏼
Hi Mike 👋🏼 A lovely harbour and a pleasant ride to get there. It’s surprising how few roads there are by the coast considering Cornwall has over 300 miles of coastline. I’m looking forward to a trip to Ireland in June 👍🏼
Another great video, beautiful Cornwall and history. Still currently in Tasmania and in my opinion the closest place that feels like England in many ways.
A bike that up until recently wouldn't have interested me, I was always a modern classic type! However the bolt upright riding position, tall screen and the fact it's a roomy bike mean all day comfort and it suits me down to the ground.@@Saddlebags73
Excellent video as ever...I'd not heard of Portwrinkle. Lovely views of the sea. As i watched you looking for the Pilchard store, in the background on the TV the Antiques Roadshow was discussing the Pilchard industry of Cornwall...a neat coincidence!! Cheers Steve 💚
Ah cheers mate. Binned about 20 shots because I’ve forgotten almost everything I knew, and that wasn’t much anyway. It’s a science. If I had more time I would study and practice more 👍🏼
I'm not 1 to tense up while riding on crappy road surfaces, but you had my bum cheeks twitching a little here mate! 🤣👍 I've came to the conclusion that there's only epic views wherever you go riding & never disappointed by anywhere you go! 😬😎✌️
Haha, it was only slightly sketchy 🫣 You’ve never seen me ride through Camelford then. I’ll do that just to set the record straight 😉🤣 Thanks Johnhard 😎
Great video …. Mixed emotions watching it. We holidayed a lot down in that area and love it. My best pal - my Staffie dog Bobby loved to run and play on Seaton beach. The road out to Rame Head and Mount Edgecombe is a peach. Bobby used to love a walk around Mount Edgecombe park and then a bit of lunch at the Edgecombe Arms. We sadly had to say goodbye to Bobby last week; succumbing to the ravages of age and cancer. We miss him terribly and I don’t mind saying I shed a tear watching this video and remembering the happy days he was with us.
Firstly, I sympathise. I know how hard it is to lose our best friends…I am sorry. My son lost his Staffie (affectionately known as pig dog by me). He has another one now but Pig dog will always be missed. I have been to Rame Head a couple of times but have never been to Mount Edgecombe. Another video there maybe 🤔 Thanks Palerider. Best wishes from someone that understands 👋🏼
@@lilynorthover8378 🙏 I’m certainly trying to focus on that at the moment. Miss the little guy around the house though. It’s gone back to being a house and not a home. Early days I know.
Ooo nice mirrors, very aggressive looking 💪 That road to Seaton does look awesome, if it wasn’t all mucky I bet it would be awesome fly down on the ZZR 🏍️💨 Glad to see you’re getting on well with the V-Strom 💪 What a smartly placed bench overlooking the sea ☺️ Portwrinkle just looks like a place where the rest of the world seems a million miles away ya know, very peaceful and beautiful. Great video mate, I hope you’re doing well ☺️
Hey Rhythmic 👋🏼 Cracking road that is. Nice twisty section through the trees and then out into the open and riding along the coast…love it. V-Strom seems to be perfect for me. Looking forward to trying Twinks on the back. Beautiful little spot at Portwrinkle, no doubt overrun with holiday makers from Easter onwards, but nice at the moment 🙂 Thanks mate, all good here and I hope you’re well too 👍🏼
@@Saddlebags73 shite service mother sister and sisters friend got and had there meals while I was still waiting lol got a free lunch and pint put was still over £50
Good morning, Jeff. You DO take us to the most bootiful places. What a difference having a bit of sunshine makes too. Many thanks for sharing your ride to these wonderful places. That sea at Portwrinkle Harbour was magnificent. Loved this one - but I always do 😂👍
Hi Peter 👋🏼 That’s a lovely part of the coast to ride. It’s surprising how few places you can ride alongside the sea given that Cornwall has over 300 miles of coastline. Portwrinkle was cute, I’m glad I got there after many years of passing it by. Thanks very muchly 🙂 Jeff
Hi saddle, beautiful area I’ve sailed all around there in the past. Still not on bike so lovely to be on urs😂. Even being a viewer i just love the strom, the sound and the extra poke over the RE. Hard to believe but strom makes 70 bhp same as my 1978 cb750-4 which seemed fastest thing on road then
That’s a lovely stretch out to Rame Head. It’s surprising how little you can ride alongside the coast in Cornwall so it’s always a treat. I’m absolutely delighted with the Strom, I love it. I haven’t tried Twinks on the back yet but I’m confident it’ll work. Sorry to hear you’re still off the bike. I hope luck comes your way. Cheers Volt 👍🏼
There's something very endearing about the Vstrom. That V twin is a peach, so tractable and happy to rev and please. With good rider protection and a go anywhere do it all approach to motorcycling. Her earrings suit her too! Great scenery! Great video and chat. Thankyou!
I’m over the moon with the underrated wee Strom. It’s hitting all the spots so far, and she’s some priddy with her jewellery. Just need to see how it copes 2-up, but I’m confident. Many thanks 🙂👍🏼
Ah thank you kindly. I took a bit of a ribbing from so called friends about the earrings being in sight (like fluffy dice on a rear view mirror apparently) and consequently moved them the the end of the bars 🤣
There is a lovely cafe in Talland Bay, and a cute little beach to explore if the tide is out. What a lovely village with a cool bit of history bunged in 🙂
@@Saddlebags73 if entering from the Looe direction, the lane down to the bay is incredibly steep and if wet can be very slippery. Road tyres should be fine, but I remember descending it on a dirtbike and couldn't stop with both wheels locked up, so wise to wait till it warms up a bit
What a beautiful ride! Bike's sounding great too. I hope to visit some of these places with the Mrs when we travel down there in May. But all that traffic stresses me out 😂
Cheers NooB. That’s one of the best coastal stretches around here. If the lack of traffic makes you homesick you should come down in August and pick any coastal town or village. If the Emmetts don’t get you the seagulls will 🤪
As ER has said that camera is giving you some fantabulous images. Sooo sharp 😊. Yet another lovely video of your beautiful area. But your intro! Where’s it gone 😮😮😮😉
Ah thanks CyL. I invested in a GoPro 10 and it is an Improvement. That’s a lovely stretch of road out towards Rame Head, and Portwrinkle is quite cute 🙂 Intro was there, right after I showed Gwenen’s earrings 🤣
🤣 Just like a knife through clotted cream. It handles really well. I have yet to try it out on a dry road but I’m interested to see where the limits are.
Coudnt agree more although very practical strom mirrors arnt a thing of booty... I've a set of double take mirrors so they do for both strom /himalayan mounts on both bikes.. atb 👍👍
Hi and thank you. I’ll leave a link to the mirrors I bought from eBay. I found them after they were recommended on an owners page. They are listed for an Aprillia Tuono but they’re perfect. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/153594851690?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=7qVCavnLSsq&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=A0g6RLjHQ--&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Hope that works. All the best 👍🏼
Cheers Gregor 👍🏼 Not always this peaceful. In the summer anywhere by the coast is very busy with tourists. This is the best time of year to enjoy it. Loving the V-Strom. It’s ticked all the boxes so far. I haven’t tried it 2-up yet but I’m confident it will work. Thanks again my friend. Take care very there 👋🏼
@@Saddlebags73 I see. Now it is the right time to avoid the masses there. :) I am glad that you like the Vstrom. Cool. :) Cheers. Take care you too bro.
A lovely spot and a very pleasant ride getting there 👍🏼 The V-Strom is ticking all the boxes so far. I have still got to see how it is 2-up but I’m confident. I’m really really enjoying it and I’m fairly sure she’s a keeper. I need to find a suitable place for El Nuevo Hombresito to sit 🤣
