No major damage to the truck. - Seems like other than not putting bungies on those chains / tightening chains to two fingers or some minor chain issue,- you did everything right. Worst thing to do was to keep driving in that storm with two flats. You could have hurt someone else and yourself. So avoiding that / most important. Also tow should have been 4k max. Boss should report Pittman to states dept of revenue. But that wasn't your deal. Learn yfrom it. That makes you better, you win in the end.

Man soon you hit that i90W , it's a nightmare from their. Up hills down hill , survey here and there. I live here in Washington and that I say is the worst but got used to driving that 90 east to west . And I sometime hate when the snow really pile up so high to the pole signs you see around you. Bro just wanted to say thanks for posting your experiences, I hate the construction job I’m at right now and I have been debating on trucking for years now and just never really took action but randomly decided to search more about it and came across your channel and you pretty much got me motivated again, I’m saving money now and next month or April I’m going to finally sign up to get my cdl with most likely Hirschbach.

When you drive when chains are required, watch for broken chains on the road. If you run over broken chains they can rip the lines off the inflation system. Watch the light for the inflation system or listen for leaking air. If you catch the broken lines in time. you can disconnect them and save the tires. Get one of the hoses that you can connect to the glad hand and just add air to the tires. You do not need 6 chains in Washington (unless they actually tell you to use 2 drag chains), you only need 4 on the drives and 1 on the trailer. Charge the tow company for the bumper. That tow company sucks. They monopolize on the weather and the area. Towing for trucks is never cheap, but 11k Is absolutely rediculous.

Chez, any tow truck driver that knows his butt from a hole in the ground knows that the one side of the axle can be chained up to the frame of the trailer to keep it off of the ground and you can then pull the trailer to the repair shop. It happened to me once when I had the bearings burn out on one trailer axle.

Hey, another vid!! I quit food service, and went with a smaller fleet again they have 40 trucks. It's 1099 coast 2 coast California, and Back to NC. I'm hyped all they run are 860 Volvos and Cascadias. I've never been to Cali but I have some friends over there so I'm good. It's all Dry Van as well Drop/Hook 90% solo work. Tires and cable probably had something rub on it, something sharp enough to make it break and to rip, I've had fair share of issues and my spouse was a otr, and had drove I can't so he told me what happened and what did happen. He passed 7 yrs ago 3rd stage lung cancer And I'm good, and we've had some issues with vehicles. There you go, hope it helps.

Im from Yakima Washington. About 30 minutes from ellensburg. You must have came when we had that bad snow storm that started on a Thursday. We didn’t run that day. We did the next day. Was still sketchy. that manastash ridge i run every morning. Its always icy and foggy as heck. If u ever need help in my area get at me man. I drive double flatbeds around here.

Yeah bro as you probably know trucking can be fun, and it can be a pain, specially in the winter, to bad you can’t just run below the i-40 for the rest of the winter, but it can get nasty down south also, and sounds like that towing company took advantage, I’ve never heard of it costing that much, specially for not being towed that far

Hello Chez, thanks very much for posting your videos - VERY useful for new drivers. I have a request for a future video, could you please report your pay by hour vs. pay be mile? I am concerned that hard driving truck drivers maybe work 20hours or more per day sometimes (driving, refilling fuel stops, loading time, unloading waiting time, waiting on repairs time - you should consider all those hours away from home as work hours). I am concerned if you consider pay per hour, that the pay rate is actually pretty low. I think new truck drivers need to know it is not just a 8hr work day/ 5 days per week and home every night. I have heard truck companies say you will have home time but they actually push you for more money and don't let you have home time (Swift). Maybe a video titled 'what they don't tell you about' or 'the negatives of trucking they do not talk about' or you may have a better title. I am a newbie so adjust above as you see appropriate

I got a story for you so one time my dad went to work and delivered something to knock down mountains and then the bad snow storm came out of nowhere and a another truck came with gasoline and his truck was slipping right after that working truck does and they almost cladded into each-other in his truck has the things to go Boom-boom same with the truck with the gasoline and it was so bad that the cops have to block the road it was like 30 cops and 10 firefighters but lucky they didn't ran each-other but the cops have to make the other cars to go into the ditch like park next to the ditches but nothing happened my dad and the other one din't crashing each-other aleast my dad and the other dude was lucky (True story)

Problem is that the only 2 trucks that the school has are ( in my opinion ) having clutch issues and the instructor keeps complaining about how the students are messing up the trucks. Seeing where the industry is now, is it even worth not having a manual restriction? I am thinking of taking my test in an automatic.
