Just wanted to share that I'm a nitro guy with some xray electrics. Ended up buying my first arrma today, a felony roller, because bittydesign released a Viper body called VPR. I had to buy a r/c just for this new car body. They also sell one for 1/10 drag chassis. Anyway, I wasn't a fan of the look of the stock wheels (tires are fine) for the Viper body and came across powerhobby wheels/gripper tires. This is when I learned about gear ratio issues with the front/rears being different. I found a thread on an arrma forum where someone calculated gear ratios with same size diameter tires (100mm in this case, but it works for any matched diameter tires) and if you simply swap the front/rear diffs (no need to buy any additional parts or diffs) on a felony you can run matching tires. You don't need to swap anything else, just the diffs. Leave the pinions where they are if anyone is questioning this. I'll be picking up power hobby 7 spoke black wheels/gripper tires to go with the Viper body. Amazon carries them as well, but they don't sell chrome on the site, you have to go elsewhere for additional colors. Obviously will go with the 42mm wide in the front and 54mm wide in the rears.
“Common sense” 🤣 Good catch on the size issue. Hopefully Felony drivers are paying attention! Yeah, the yellow really looks great on Cownin Around! I’d probably go with a different color nut on each wheel to tie in with the skittles dots in the paint scheme 😂 Really, it looks great.
THANK YOU!! A while back when I got my first Felony, I almost destroyed my diffs by trying different tires, saw your video and was saved just in time. Radius!! The only other options I found are the Toyo Proxys (Proline), fronts are narrow and 100mm, Rear 53/107, Felony match... Thanks again Earl!
if you run the same sized diameter wheels all around on your felony simply swap the front and rear diffs with each other. The gear ratios then even out to the same and your diffs are saved. If you run the stock felony tires then you must keep the front/rear diffs in their original location.
Loveing the look of those powerhobby colors on your cars they just look sick! Still kinda hard to beat those gold wheels on the green limitless though !
Those in yellow look fantastic on there 👌 but totally agree, they really shouldn't be advertised as to fit the felony 🤦🏻 I think most of us who brought one know you can't use same size front and rear without a diff swop, but if you ordered from a site that says felony that's what you would expect right. Basherqueen stickers showed up well enough earl 👌 nice and subtle but can see em well enough.
Once again my RC Yoda has prevented me from making a mistake with my Felony this time…..I did buy a gold set of grippers for my Felony but thankfully I only did a few “glamour passes” in my driveway…… I didn’t do any speed runs or hard on road bashing…..thank gawd!! I could not find ONE documented complaint regarding these wheels and "destroyed" diffs. I trust your knowledge, i just need more evidence before i return this set of wheels.
Hey Earl I know this isn't related to this video exactly but I wanted to ask, what keeps you going in this hobby? Today unfortunately some personal issues have made it so I can no longer go to my local track and this is really the only place around me that has a track and a good speed run spot that I know of. I put my extra money for Rc into a race buggy that I can no longer run I just feel completely defeated with the hobby at this point. I absolutely love my cars but I don't know where to go from here. How do you build the confidence to run in public without the worry of getting kicked out or judged?
Just remember it’s a hobby not a job 💯 great thing about ground rc is there is parks to run and open areas everywhere 👍 tracks are fun but maybe a motorcycle track or Bmx track built somewhere around you as kids set them up everywhere 👍👍or bring a shovel and build one possibly or even build a ramp or bye one for me I build and play weekly so over the years spits come and go looking for a new spot is fun in itself good luck 👍
I would hope Felony owners would be aware of that. I was aware of what P/H means by fits felony. I have Infraction rear differential on my felony. The felony rear tires were hard to get a hold of. P/H stepped in and we were able to keep the staggered look with a simple gear change. Good video but I hope people have more common sense than to stick those on a stock felony.
Not for nothing gentlemen but not everyone in the hobby have your experience or knowledge….. so Earl’s vid helped those like myself who made the mistake of trusting PH after they presented these tires for the felony……sometimes we all should cut people some slack…. With respect 👍🏻😎
These tires are garbage. If you're looking for a good replacement tire for the felony try Proline's Toyo Proxes. They make them in the correct sizes front and rear. I agree however they look great on the builds....

Upgraded with hobbywing 1650kv and max 6....kinda dont want to say what was done to my diffs but it's the original but work was done..is there a way to contact you by Facebook or Instagram?
