I usually wreck the pumps on these long before I need to adjust the valves. Just replaced it on mine because I bought one that can rebuilt. On my 8th washer.
haha It's really common people do that. Usually they forget to turn the water on first or they just test run them with out water then the pump burns up. Water acts like a Lubrican't for the Pump.
