Yes Geoff! You’ve already improved from the first track day, lot more confidence and consistency. Little later on the brakes, turn in a little later and use every inch of run off when you can and you’ll be golden. Definitely learn the ring if you don’t already know it, it calls for summer! Some endless pads, PS4S, kw and she’ll be keeping up with cars she has no right to!

Nooooo not to an olde Volvo… just loved those cars as well as the 740’s and 940’s. My soul car was the latter in red. She was an absolute beaut!

Great fun to watch Geoff, I really like your track day experiences, you are doing a great job of making people aware of how much fun can be had for a relatively small outlay.

The Volvo is a great learning tool it's not too quick and will teach you the lines and braking that important for the track, you seem to be very early on the brakes and too eager to turn into the corner too soon Geoff, Compare yourself to the quicker cars your following through the apex's. If you brake a little later and harder into the corner and ease off the brake as you approach the apex it opens up the exit for a straighter line and earlier on the go pedal, Just my 2 cents, I'm just happy to see an old car still has it to have some fun for not much money.

Funny how it was just on the Craner Curves where the tyre(?) was catching and nowhere else on circuit. Brilliant ‘track day concentration face’ too 👍🏼😁. You should definitely enter a race series with the Volvo for sure 😊

It's a beautiful track, BTW. The first part reminds me of Spa Francorchamps, the turns feel like Eau Rouge :) And amazing sound as well!

Currently track daying my daily (p80 V70 T5 manual) but once my 940 is road legal the V70 will be going in for a full BTCC style track build. Livery the lot 😎. These cars are incredible fun on track and the comments and looks you get are unbeatable 🤘🏻🤘🏻

A decent set of part worn track day tires next . It’s a must and not a lot of money really and keep a set of road tyres for wet / damp . 👍

Nothing better than thrashing a disposable car around a race-track - because you don't care if it gets bent or blows up!

Good effort driving an old girl! Used to race there and the feeling of going down the Craner curves flat is hard to describe and often comes to grief when one tries to wing the last right hander and end in the wall as Nigel Mansell did in touring cars.

Nothing like seeing a near 30 year old, 1.7 ton green house going round the track. I have a M-plate Blue GLT 20v 5 banger 2.5 automatic estate - glad it isn't the only one to roll as much as that 😂 then again, mines at 237k miles, can't complain that the ol' girl is tired. It does make me wonder if I should add a beefier anti-roll bar though.

as i have said before, check all bushes, especially on the rear delta link. also, pick up a cheap set of 17" from an s60 etc. these will let you fit 225 tyres, or the 7.5" comets from c70.

Are you sure you were on the right tyres? A lot of old and simple cars passing you. The engine, probably the best engine ever made for a road car with really good sound as a bonus.

Donington looks like an easy course. I didn't see any 180 turns. My home track at Thompson has 3 in a row. I've been on the grass more than once. Try Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres for a really improved ride. Was that a kid on a tricycle I saw passing you? Glad you had fun. For a real butt pucker, try it in a Porsche 911 or a Mazda Miata at 200+ km/hr. Keep the shiny side up.

There you were in a 500 squid car, while the bloke in the Revolution was risking 210k, on every lap! 😮😂 BTW...I think you were wearing a woolly hat, at Dono 🤔

Hi geof Found your channel via the macmaster and absolutely love it but not only is it about having fun and actually enjoying owning and driving a car . It's seems to me that the power's that be hate ice cars and ive had that opinion for quite a few years now. Im disabled and have trouble getting about so I need a car i have an old 2003 vauxhall Corsa and when that gives up the ghost and am I going to be forced through increasing restrictions to have an electric car that I don't want. Ps i hope you find your hat.

I think you need to give the volvo a slight tune to get a bit more performance and take it over to that large toll road in Germany that is definitely not a racing circuit.
