Man I’ve wondered for years why a tractor manufacturer didn’t use a diesel electric set up like locomotives! I think it’s absolutely awesome to hear Deere is finally gonna do that!! And that’s a nice 9R! I’ve only drove one articulated tractor before, and that was a totally different feeling over a regular tractor. Looking forward to hearing more reviews on it!
For sure .. I agree 100% ... long past due ... plus this way they can power other electric things like the exact Emerge planter - which it would be way handier to plug a planter in to the tractor vs, having to set up the alternator and brackets like they have now ..... thanks very much - more good videos coming up
Actually sold it - and going to get a smaller one ... we shouldn't have ever upsized ... we are jjust not tilling that many acres ....thanks for asking and for watching
I spoke about this some in the video ... but simple short answer .. cost ..the VT tools are just so so so high priced ...but yes, a VT tool would be better for this application... its not enough acres to justify one though
I know what you mean about the shifting being slow such a pain. Tried out a stiger CVX on a pan it was awesome if i can help it I will never have another powershift.
up near Ft Dodge the farmer who rents my 9 acres runs a 600+ tracked JD with a heavy disk. It takes him longer to unfold and get the GPS right than to actually till the ground. 15 minutes is the normal for spring and fall tillage. Longer for planting and combining by a few more minutes. He is set up with JD research and development. He leases or rents every year for their newest and greatest then they take it back and tear it apart .
That's really interesting and cool ... that 9520RX we had, was a JD research tractor... bet he gets some neat stuff ... I've heard they have quite the research farm up there
You dont understand ... The electric 8R410 is not battery powered ... its engine running a generator - which runs a motor ... essentially it replaces a transmission ... less loss of power / simpler / completely variable for speed .. its a great system .. same system thats used on other equipment, such as haul trucks, locomotives, etc. for many years
I want to give you credit for your video farmer hypocrisy. I growing up my Grandpa farmed in south central Nebraska and my mom husband farms out there now. I live outside of Omaha so I see the farms here and in western Iowa. The farmers in this area have the mentality of a guy who is irrigating all day and I just laugh. A dry land farmer here could easily have a job also. They could work at an excavation company witch is what I do. You have to say it Trump gave farmers staggering amounts of money. My buddy showed me and I about threw up. I always laugh when farmers talk about welfare and food stamps. What would people say if there was a line to get your food stamps and every person in line was driving a $90,000 pickups and going home to a $400,000 house?
Thanks for the comment ... not quite sure where to start in response though .... the Trump payments (and I'm talking about our own operation) we're just enough to keep from going broke ... sucked ..there was nothing fun about it ... no business should have to rely on a "maybe" ..... I could probably do a much better job explaining this on my other channel .....

@@mattphillips4260 the series prior to this was a flop on the fan drives (lots of problems) but this brand new model, they've improved it... which is a good thing
