I think Russia has great potential for it's average earning people being to have both a flat in the City near where they work and a country home where they recreate. Having the space as a homeowner with a plot land creates good expansionary markets for all sorts of consumer goods and space for larger families to play. The key to a high productivity economy is to create the incentives for the average people to work hard and produce more for both themselves and the society as a whole as its under these conditions that self and social interest synergies together producing more for everyone.. What you don't want in society is people seeking to do the least amount of work required to survive as that mindset creates poverty for the individual and society..

People who I share this idea with of moving, do not understand my choice given the widespread picture that the MSM and Hollywood has spread over decades. Sometimes I watch videos of people expressing their feedback after moving to Russia, by saying what is worse, what is below expectations, etc. and vice-versa, to get the feeling how really things are out there. I was born and live in Russia. And I tell you from my experience. In the city, people are more aggressive to those around them than in rural areas. And the fact that in rural areas are not used to foreigners, this does not cause aggression. There, people will show interest and curiosity about a foreigner. Regarding activities for families, there may be difficulties with a hospital, school or university only if it is very far from the city and in an area with a low population density. Interesting but 2 times is a lot I think it’s much less because 1 bedroom apartment is like normally 1 million rubles and it’s now like 1.3-1.5 mil sometimes at most

@@Wild-Siberia In Irkutsk ( not in the center!) 1 bd would cost from 4 to 5.5 M and more - depends on the building type, location and conditions. It was around 3M 2 years back

Я интересуюсь только вторичкой, и более того - советской вторичкой - хрущевками и брежневками. И в той-же Слюдянке - я вижу дичайшее подороание земельных участков и почти полное исчезновение каких-то предложений домов на продажу. Не верите - наберите "купить дом, Слюдянка" - и давайте пообсуждаем - что именно там предлагается и за сколько. Попробуйте - вы удивитесь!

Если мы яйца закупаем из соседних стран, это говорит о том, что нам не хватает своих фермеров, которые могли бы снабдить весь внутренний рынок. За сельским хозяйством будущее, кто сыт, тот непобедим. Земли в России много, в народа мало. Много государственных программ для развития сельского хозяйства. Тендеров и т.д.

@@Wild-Siberia One thing we where wondering about some of the farm land further out in the "wilderness", it looks very beautiful, but about how far is it from a village/town on average? And are the nearest towns places one could work? Just thinking about the viability and how it compares to US rural areas. Like, is it possible to commute, or would it be straight up homesteading/100% self reliance? Very hard to tell looking at maps online... I live in a part rural, part suburban area near the Adirondacks in NYS. There's areas up here that look pretty similar. Generally, even the land for sale around here that's seemingly out pretty far away from society, is still reachable to a nearby small town, unless it's considered a "camp", or "hunting ground property". But for the most part rural/farm land here is still pretty close to a populated area. Just wondering if Russia is similar, or if it's still pretty bare/ undeveloped. I really like semi- rural areas, as I still have to work (unfortunately). 😊

(Насколько я понимаю ситуацию... ни одному правительству не выгодно иметь большое количество людей живущих на своей земле, начиная от истории "огораживания" в Англии и до борьбы современных агрохолдингов с простыми фермерами. Если человек может обеспечить себя продуктами питания самостоятельно со своей земли, ему трудно навязывать какую нибудь ерунду. А стоит например не продать хлеб в течении 3дней в Нью-Йорке или в Москве и жители города станут более покладистыми)

А как понять с какими намерениями едут к нам иностранцы? Вы должны понимать, что все это делается для безопасности прежде всего граждан. Если ослабить миграционную политику, тогда получится второй Техас. А мы хотим жить спокойно и защищённой. Вы будучи гражданином страны впоследствии сами будете за то, чтобы ужесточать закон потмиграции. Тут только набраться терпения в получении гражданства.

@@Opasnaya-baba скорее всего многие вещи вообще никак не продуманы и не предусмотрены - то есть речь не об "ослаблении" "защиты безопасности", а просто хотя бы сделать систему понятной и легкодоступной для добропорядочных и законопослушных людей, проживание которых будет россии только на пользу (откуда бы они не были)...

The cost of living in North America is not affordable any more. Everything from purchasing a house, food prices, utilities, cell phone plans etc. keeps going up but the wages stay the same. There is way too much corruption for my liking and the alphabet agenda is awful. As the Nomad Capitalist says, go were you are treated best. @@M_mOuSe_

There's no such thing as abandoned houses. If a house has no owner, then the land belongs to the state.

@@user-oh7sx8qr4tI am talking about abandoned villages with Dachas( summer house) no people living in. I watch Russian bloggers showing all these abandoned villages . We have friends in Russia. One of my family had been to Russia .

@@justmarie6257 I'm sorry, but I still don't get it. If the Dacha (summer house) has no owner, the Neighborhood (Cottage community) owns the land. If a house in the village has no owner, then the land belongs to the state. A Dacha and a village house are different land with different owners.
