Jim omg that is so good wow that’s how I do things above and beyond your a super good auto mechanic you got so much done on that car it’s gonna be good for another 30 years that paint was thick I had red oxide primer one time it was super thick it never rusted out again hey Jim your really growing in the beard over there you getting ready hunting lol you don’t even look like the same guy listen I keep saying this any one can take cars apart but can they put them Back together to run and drive again and I know you can Jim I don’t think the Cobolt was even painted stock under there it was gray primer with missed spots and if you find a super clean on maybe some one painted it up but stock there like gray factory paint and I don’t even think it gets sprayed on I think it’s just dipped in a chemical bath at the factory then dryed to ge assembled your giving that car a second chance at life your a smart guy thanks for the video brother
My goodness that’s one old can of paint, but why not you got it use it. Got to hand it to Jim that car which was falling apart, you saved it so I hope you drive the hell out of it.
I once owned a Pontiac Sunfire which is close to the same car you’re working on. I can see why you would work on Chevy Cobalts- especially if the drivetrains are good. My last 3 cars have been Hondas because the drivetrains have been so good and my mechanic likes them- probably because when they do break, they’re easy to work on. Hope your Cobalt keeps running smoothly and your welding brings back the unibody to better than original.
Zthat one of those guns that vibrates? I had one maybe a little bigger that plugged into house current. When it quit I took it all apart and it actually had a tiny little piston pump on it that ran from a magnetic deal where you varied the gap between the part that moved the piston and the electromagnet. That's how they regulated the spray amount. It got real noisy for a while then went silent. Mine was a hand-me-down and I didn't know how much time it had on it. So, I hope yours lasts for your job. ben/ michigan
40 year old primer 🙃 Do you think the properties of it will be effective. Has it been frozen snd refrozen many times. I don’t think it will be very worthwhile to use. Msybe coat over it with the rock guard or rubberized undercoat. Everything is looking good.
