@@princem4357 prince and those heels are cracking me up 🤣🤣 bless his heart ❤️🙏 I still can't believe he's gone -- why was he by himself when he died omg this bothers me so much
Such a huge loss! Prince was a musical genius, a humble humanitarian, gifted by God! He exemplified a real man. Who cares if he wore heels; He had a big heart which is the bottom line; one should not be judged by looks BUT by the soul he had. YOU ARE MISSED, MY PRINCE.
A Devine, honest, quiet, very private, passionate spiritual and I believe very loving man.He is the artistic genius who painted the tapestry of his life on the canvas of this world through his amazing talent of music and lyrics. He will be forever missed. I wish I could have men this man and just held a conversation with him or sit in silence in his presence and beheld his talents in the studio. G_d bless your beautiful heart and soul Prince Rogers Nelson and a sincere thank you for sharing with us your visions and melodies through music.🌹🎶🌹😇
This was 12 years ago, and the music industry has gotten even worse! What has happened to REAL music, played by REAL musicians! God please allow this man to live forever!
Summer Mic So true, I'm just soaking in all of him that I can, I'm really into his unreleased material such as songs and especially concert recordings. It's really incredible material, and like a gift that keeps on giving. His body of work is incredible for such a relatively short amount of time. He's the greatest!
I been watch every interview and every music video of him my body shakes every time I watch him I cry and I smile he was a huge inspiration in my life I will always love him and I will miss him I miss him every single day
beautiful man. I always reminisce about the dream I had of him singing from a telephone pole near my bedroom window when I was 12 years old. Still remain gorgeous even at the age of 57.
I agree gingey. And the way he could dance and do the splits in them, several times in a row. I have never even been able to stand up in a pair of them my whole life. I am little ashamed that I have never been able to walk in a pair.
Blessed to have accompanied a great friend to see Prince play in a small intimate venue in 1998, an experience I'll never forget. A true musician and a pro's pro. RIP PNR
I didn't watch the entire thing, so I kinda jumped the gun and assumed that he applied the literal meaning to the word. My bad. That aside, I doubt there are any paranormal connotations affixed to the term.
Paranormal? Do you have any understanding at all of what the Illuminati is? Don't answer that; it's a rhetorical question, and the answer to it is "no". Please, stop talking.
It's a delusional conspiracy theorist's dream come true. Didn't you know that? Refrain from answering that question, as it too is rhetorical. Carry on with your nonsense. I'm out. lol
He has and always will be one of the most intelligent and gifted artists in the music industry.Unike a lot of the puppets around today , NOBODY owns him.Soooooo sexxxy
I've cried since I found out and his songs shake me to my core. especially Purple Rain. I'm so in shock over this! He meant so much to all of us fans of his.
I always admired him, but was frustrated with not finding his music on RU-vid. He was so intelligent and deeply committed to his music. A true musician in every sense of the world. Heartbroken over his death. What a loss! Rest in peace, Purple One!!
What is amazing is that I'm 12, and I still love his music! I listen to songs he made 30+ years ago, and I love it! That is what makes him a legend. Being able to make music that still is great to listen to when your my age is awesome. I love you so much Prince... Can't stop crying:( RIP
sometimes it is good to stay away from the world and be in your own world...sad but that is how he found his escape. i know this because i did it for two years
"it took me four albums to get on the cover of Rolling Stone now it takes these new artist only one there should be a rule for that type of thing" -Prince. ( the realest s*** ever said)
Prince had such an air of confidence and command about him and yet he was so calm and soft-spoken.His sense of fashion was equally appealing.Rest in peace legend.
God, Matt Lauer needs to know who's he's talking to, treating Prince like he's not relevant, popular! Matt Lauer's the unlikable jerk a-hole who's not popular and forgettable, not to mention disrespectful! *Prince is royalty!!*
Damonm68 they're both jerks. lol. but Prince is better at being a jerk, turns it into an artform. laur is a notorious, jerky-jerk who offends more often than not.
He is right about todays music if I can say anything, most of the so called singers now have absolutly no talent and can't sing for shit and its all autotune and samples of other music artists work, but they are treated like they are the best in the world and that nobody else can do what they do.
It's not really that they can't sing but more that they can't write good songs. Bob Dylan can't sing for shit and the guy has countless songs that are mind blowing.
I didn't know this prince until now.. amazing. Much respect. Go with the angels.. I thought I saw you in the sky, wearing a big pruple hat. Enjoy the middle Prince.
Matt is the one who needs to leave and never come back...he's an arrogant, narcissistic, ego inflated jerk! Bet u if he passed away, he wouldn't be sorely and painfully missed like Prince is...world wide no less!!
I didn't actually realize how much I really loved this guy until everyone put their recordings out to the net. He so didn't give a shit what everyone thought, and that's what EVERY ARTIST should be like. Art is not for sale. It is for God. If people like it. Great. But it comes from God and is for God.
+Anna Elizabeth Yep, he talked about artists needing to veer towards spirituality to aide them in their work. Spirituality gives a person focus and makes you centered. People in general focus on people or things that are out of their control. Spirituality makes you grateful for what you have and makes you work to be better and do better. A lot of young folks will learn about Prince and be inspired and do what Prince is talking about.
+kewi909 ---It had snowed earlier this April where I live and My Daughter said "This weather is crazy. It's April!!" and I put that song on right after she said that to show her that sometimes it snow in April.
Matt Lauer was just the wrong guy to interview Prince. Prince had a negative or confused reaction to every question, because Lauer comes off as a completely non-musical jerk who didn't like Prince, or have any understanding of who he was really talking to. Lauer tries SO hard to be cutting edge, but it's so plastic. Painful to listen to.
Ok, From the minute this man crawled up out of that tub and held out his hand in the world premiere of When Doves Cry on MTV I knew it was gonna be one heck of a ride, but wow, what STYLE,(look at him KILLING it in white and blue ;) charm, Intelligence and charisma...PRESENCE! Thats the word I was looking for...There will never be another as great. Love you Prince, RIP ~
I have been watching prince interview and I am.very touched by his manners his love and. care for. All the people in this world he loves his faith and he loves god such a nice soul. its as if you could feel.his heart wonderful we will never forget him in God has him
Prince is mysterious and that's a good thing, because whenever you see and hear him, you hang onto his every word...He is a genius, there's no doubt about that...Not only is he a brilliant songwriter and vocalist, but he has mastered 20 musical instrumentals...His album, "Purple Rain" and Michael Jackson's "Thriller" are, to me, the two best R&B/Pop albums of the 20th century...On the subject of MJ, I wish that Prince and he had done a song together...That would've been something to behold.
Matt lauers voice is loud and intrusive. He should tone it down to match the person he's interviewing. Mid way through he's beginning to finally realize it
Ashley Burns A lot of 'em are afraid to sing live! I was really shocked when Katy Perry and Missy Elliot sang live at the Superbowl! The biggest stage of the year and they nailed it!
+PentegonVirtue Why don't you check my Jukebox and LISTEN to the kind of music I enjoy before YOU comment on ANYONE else's comments. Oops, Ed Sheeren has a song on that list, which reminded me A LOT of Prince's music! BTW my comment about why Perry and Missy Eliot's live performance impressed me is because they are young and had a reputation for being producer driven, but they both showed there is much more to them and like I said, they were fearless. Finally, I've heard John Legend sing live but I'm ambivalent because I'm not generally wild about his music.
Prince is correct, music today sounds very different. I think music today sounds awful. I agree with Prince... the new music artists today make packaged music with too much technology, & it sounds fake to me. The good old music album days have the best lyrics, songs, sound, & singers voices. I do miss how good the older music sounded. Prince is a music legend! I love his music!
Isn't Prince's last few albums (AOA, HNR, and PlectrumElectrum) made with technology and shit like that as well? Besides instruments that Prince played, he put plenty of tech in his music a couple decades ago, so what does it even mean anymore anyway? At the same time, I also agree with you on that part as well. I wish pop music nowadays is more homemade than it is half-baked, something like a frozen packaged, or just plain awful. That's it, but at least putting tech in music can sound good too, depends on your taste and your opinion.
His Royal Badness, Purple Majesty, my pocket-sized boyfriend💜💜💜 The world is less bright since his passing. We will not have another Prince in our lifetimes. He is an original Treasure and these 'artists' coming up now can/should learn from him. Rest In Peace💜💜💜
This dude is amazing...vocaly guitar, player, song writer, dancer, I've never really heard him play key boards , ..i hear on one of his albums he plays all the instruments..
Ernie Reyes got it right. A talented "musician" for over 25 years with no end in sight. There's a reason why people get so excited about him when he plays on TV. He's been extremely blessed as a person.
Oh Lordy, Lord!! Prince being interviewed by Matt Lauer.......this man has NO CLUE whatsoever! Prince was so cool and said about comeback....."What am I coming back to."........Like, hey dumbass........I never left. I got you, Prince, I got you :)
Great musical talent and an even better songwriter. I grew up listening to Prince. Even though this video is old, it was good to see him. Get "1999" and "Purple Rain" albums to hear his best work.
Jerrie, Maybe we didn't know him personally ,though he intertwined himself into each and everyone of our lives with his music. He very much became a part of our lives by reaching out, helping us in creating our memories that went along with his songs. His songs of love, passion and heart. Learn what he believed in as his faith at JW.org, learn where his hope after death was. He would want all to know and take comfort in it, this was HIS truth. We all mourn as we should, because he touched us all so greatly.
He dressed flamboyant, but was not a flamboyant person. People could not get past how he dressed or acted on stage to really notice how intelligent and well spoken he was. And I used to think he was arrogant...He is not..He was just an all-business/bottom-line person.
av loved the great man for so many years n a still can't believe he,s gone, am watching all his interviews n love him even more,( if that's possible ) r.I.p prince the sexiest man ever x
It's a little trippy coming back to this interview. I don't think I'd seen it in full in 9 years. Before I owned a single album and was figuring out which ones to get. I wanted Musicology cuz it was recent but also cuz of this interview where he said it was a pop record. His idea of pop & mine are completely different, so I didn't like it right away. I also think about some people from reality shows that got albums done really quickly and their careers never took off. And also the fact I felt that way about music in 2004 as well and I wouldn't own a Prince album for another 3 years. Even without him here, Prince still teaches me something new each time I check him out ;) RIP
I felt for Prince during this interview. You have an amazing musician and performer and you ask these sorts of throwaway questions. What a waste of his time.
