Have had this exact car and color for almost a year went on many multiple hour road trips for work never experienced heat coming through, not bashing the creator of this video just adding my 2 cents for people thinking of buying this car!
Agree, I have drove this exact car to Florida from Ohio and back...several times and have not experienced the heat issue. Clearly, it is not a problem with many of the other Honda Accord Sports.
They don` t heat up in the Winter . My sister had a 2021 Sport last week as a loaner and she said it was cold all the way driving to work ..She did not like that ...was very surprised at that short coming about the car .
Thank you. I don't have the heat issue with my vehicle, which is the same model. It did take me some getting used to with the lack of keyless entry. I hope you get a good next car.
any recommendations for the terrible seats? I know you don't have a LX like me. It didn't bother me on a 10min test drive.. but 20-30-45mins... terrible. painful. ruins the whole experience for me.
Dealer might be able to change the time delay for the trunk lid . longer or shorter press of the button. Benz have that option. I agree with your concerns I have to have keyless entry and push-button start . I got spoiled from the altima in 2007. Another things that I like about Nissan is you can let the car idle and get out of the car and a lock of the door with either the button on the door handle or the remote.. some manufacturers you must use a key to lock the door... won't let you lock the door with the car running.. I have also a Toyota Camry there is no exterior trunk release switch which I find very annoying. I was looking into a 2.0 accord.
@Raymond Sookram exactly..some ppl don't have a car or driving a old car and trust me all the imperfections he's crying about they would appreciate it if they had this car
I have a 2019 sport 1.5t and drive mine 6-7 hours a day and I've never experienced the problem of the heat coming into the car, it may just be something wrong with yours cuz I have 2 friends with the same car and they haven't had it happen either. The trunk button is a safety feature in case you hit it by accident while driving, your trunk doesn't open.
Same problem with a loaner 2021 Sport SE my sister had last week . Engine is too small ! It is the same as the fit .1.5 ..Revamped with a turbo . It only holds 3.4 quarts of oil ..
I got my accord 2018 when it first came out and I have no problems what so ever I change the key fob to have remote start I also add a few other features like wireless phone charger soo happy with this car
I own a 2018 accord sport 1.5, touch wood no issues till today with heating problems. Only concern i have had are the Tyres. I love those wheels but it got flat and torn twice while i drove my vehicle through sun pass during road repair times=. Honda was kind enough to replace my tyres with brand new since I was still within the warranty
I have the same car 2018 honda accord sport model in white pearl 1.5 liter turbo, This is a great car , mine has 85k miles and no issues with turbos or engine and I do lyft and have driven it to Seattle back to Los angels with not a problems and i feel no heat at the bottom. This car is reliable.
@@mohanpunia2718 I have not any problems with my accord sport on that, and its hitting 95k running like a champ, Check with the year of the model mine is 2018
I just got a 2018. Used at 49000 miles. My break light came on immediately on my first day of driving it. Hopefully vroom can actually fix the car, as I'm really in love with the car
I have a 2018, purchased Dec of 2018. Only only problem I’ve had is the sensor in the grill internally failed just outside of warranty of course. I asked American Honda to cover the cost. Luckily they covered 80% of the repair via good faith claim.
Check out my other video I just uploaded comparing the Touring Accord to my Lexus ES350. Camry does not even deserve to be compared to a Touring Accord.
Teguh Setyasa Not really. Acceleration in this car was better than I expected from a 1.5 liter engine. No clue about the belt since it had less than 25k miles when I sold it and factory warranty is till 60k miles on power train.
I have a 2016 Honda Civic EXT and would like to eventually graduate to this car. It is a little disappointing to see this particular model doesn't have keyless entry or a trunk button tho. All features that I take for granted on my civic.
Ralph Roman I did about 14k miles on it total. Used it for Uber for only 4 months. Car is still sitting in my driveway in Miami waiting to be sold. I had a minor accident on record when this lady scratched my rear bumper and it scares away some buyers. I’m not letting this car go bellow trade in value. Looking to get $19000 for the car.
This car was actually the reason I just started working for Honda as a Sales Associate. I was a Toyota man before but was very disappointed with the Lexus I recently leased and switched to a Honda brand.
My 2018 1.5 needed the transmission replaced at 21K miles of gentle driving. No loaner/rental provided. Both honda and the dealer dragged their feet. I definitely cannot recommend the car nor the brand. If yours works, consider yourself lucky.
I Own A 2018 2.0 Sport. 149K Miles No Major Problems Never. Just Replaced The Tire Rods This Week. Oil & Filters Changed Frequently. Never Had Any Problems. Car Is Super Zippy Too.

300K is already a good limit and is the test for reliabilty. 500K is pushing your car until it breaks. Hopefully the original engine and transmission can last and go to 500K.
If you drive a VW everything fails and wears out right around 50k. Honda turbos seem to last well over 100k under normal driving. VW is nothing compared to Honda. Camry would be another story…
I have a 2021 1.5T ...I can confirm the heat pooling in the driver side foot-well just as he said. I was thinking of trying to put some thermal/acoustic insulation on the firewall to see if that fixes it. Very strange problem, I really can't say I have ever heard of it in ANY car.
1:11 as a current owner of a 2019 1.5L MT - I will agree that there are a few missing features that should be available to those who want a MT in the 1.5L engine. I could not get a moonroof, or keyless entry etc. nor the two USB ports in the front. They fixed that last item, but since they don't make the Accord in a MT anymore it's kinda a moot point. I'll still drive my car forever, unless they either make the Acura TLX in a MT (2.0L not the V6 3.0L) or they come out with an Accord Si - Honestly I would have paid more (back in the summer of 2019, not in today's marked) for an EX-L 1.5L in a MT but alas, that was not an option.
When I bought my 1.5 I was disappointed when I found out they didn’t come with a moonroof or heated seats but I wasn’t trying to pay another 5k just for that reason
@@drapermike ya I didn’t research much on the 1.5 now I’m stuck with it but who care I either get a 2022 accord sport hybrid or tesla model y performance who knows.

i had a camry 2016 i feel that was more quiet now i got accord 2018 sport blue n i love it so much also have a venza 2011 but i find venza more comfi and quiet aswell.... ACCORD is powerful sexy looks and nosiy cabin and yes i love the shape alotttttt.. i m gona keep it for atleast 2 years and then will go for ACCORD 2.0
So its interesting about heat in the down compartment. maybe its because the temperature is on hi and when moving a little flow is still coming from the direction which is fixed on climate dash. about car I like it I want to buy it but 2.0t 10 speed auto. not 1.5t. I think its very stylish and good car . Camry is not bad but no I can not even compare it with Accord. удачи
You should be grateful you have to hold that trunk release button for 2 seconds. Imagine riving down the road, trunk full of your belongings. Your arm accidently hits that button... trunk flies open....
ThTs not possible on the Honda Accord. The button is deactivated while driving. Also even when you are parked , the trunk will not open with that button (even while holding it for 2 seconds). You have to push the unlock button on the door to open the trunk while it’s idle in park.
Tariq have you ? I understand there's a problem with gas getting into the oil & diluting it. The CRVs have this issue because they have the same or similar engine. Check your oil levels.if the dipstick shows overfilled levels and you havent added oil that's what happening. I read this is mostly happening in cold weather areas and engine smell in the cabin is a symptom of this. Better contact your Honda Service Center asap.
A Leyva yes, I have. I live in the colder climate. My oil level was high , before I changed it. I didn’t tell dealer because they will not do anything except recommend oil change. Mine is a lease so i can walk away if this issue continues.
@@youssefbayoumy5335 just check your oil every 1k miles. if it's rising on the dip stick.. like a considerable amount (half inch- an inch).. you have dilution issues and should get the oil changed immediately. If you have dilution issues, depending on the severity, would necessitate more frequent oil changes.. like every 3k miles.
I keep saying... the 2017 was the last year of good Accords. I got the 2017 Sport. It's just perfect. None of the down sides you mention are presents on the 2017 Sport Manual 6.
the downer to that gen was the handling. The car rolls SO much compared to any car, let alone the current gen. Speaking as the owner of a 2015 LX, which has a very similar suspension to the Sport. . just slightly smaller sway bar. Upgrading the rear sway bar seems to help the issue, but the new model still handles much more composed.
My 2018 Accord 1.5T just had a fuel injector fail at 58k error code P0172 (posted on my channel). Modern Honda look amazing but once the 3yr/36k warranty expires you're on your own and you have no idea how expensive modern Honda engines are to fix. Oil changed at 80%, Shell regular used 80% of the time, always did warm up the car in the winter. Dealer so out of touch they recommended brake fluid replacement at 30k. I've never seen this part fail in ANY of my past cars. When asked why fuel injectors failed so early they said they see them all the time and $1600-$2500 (must replace all 4) would fix my out of warranty problem and the new injectors warranty is only for 12k/12mos! Made a case with Honda and the person assigned has never called me back once. Called for 3 weeks until I realized the could care less. Fool me once shame on me, fool me twice...
The delay is for safety issue If you accidentally hit that button while driving u can accidentally open the truck when could have your truck open fully while driving causing you to pull over and get out the car All turbos run hot that’s one of the reasons y this accord front end grill is more open to Allow more air to go In
i have the same 2018 1.5 t and i love it nothing wrong with it .. dont abuse by using shifter drive normally and enjoy really goood on average for the gas always filled up with mid grade my engine stayed smooth throughout my 4 years of journey with this car stilll hoping to keep it for as long as it goes not planning to sell at all... will buy a 2nd car lexus es 350 but still keeping this
That sucks that they take away keyless and the trunk button on the 1.5t, bad choice Honda!! I have the 2019 2.0t, I have no issues with the care other than a tire sensor that teases me once in a while.
I have a 2.0t and the air just blows to the footwell if you don’t have the ac on, idk why they did that but the engine is not overheating it’s just the design. You can switch the airflow from the feet to the dash vents without having the ac on. If you have the windows down the dash vents won’t bother you as much.
hit the button that allows the climate control to recycle the air that's inside the car. Don't turn the fan on.. just hit that button, and the vents will close so there is no air getting in from the outside. Hondas have done this since I can remember (which is 1998) lol.
These are weird things to be complain about... I have a 2020 EX-L. Drove it for four hours on a road trip and never experienced the heat thing. I feel like everything else is stuff they should have told you at the dealership when you bought it. 🤔
Orion EX-L has additional heat isolation layer between the engine and the driver seat. The sales people have no idea about this. Most of them just care about how much money they can make on you at the time of purchase. They have no clue about half the options in the car or differences in trim levels, especially when the new updated models are firs introduced. To me EX-L and 2.0 Sport are the best trim options for the current model Accord. 2.0 also has the heat isolation that is missing on the 1.5.
@@KingTriton1837 Short trips !!! My sister had a 2021 Sport SE as a loaner car last week and said it would not put out any heat . She drives 3 miles to work and said it never did get warm . She has an Accord 2.4 4 cyl . and said it heats up well ...
john Hightower I was not planning to keep it for only one year but that is just how it happened. I needed a luxury car for work. 2.0 was $3500 more at the time of purchase and I didn’t want to pay extra at that point.
The cars nice.. but not good enough to beat the refreshed 2016 n 17 V6 touring. All this car has is few extras which aren't that important.. beside the V6 will never have to deal with turbo maintenance over time.
It is .. It does not heat up well in the Winter . It holds 3.4 quarts of oil .. Is is an engine for a Honda fit .. It will not last like the past 2.4 will ... AVOID THIS CAR IF YOU WANT TO KEEP IT FOR A LONG TIME !!!
I still can't believe Honda went with a turbo on a tiny 1.5 engine which is the same size as a Toyota Yaris. Car makers making tiny 2500 psi direct fuel injected engines and on top of that force feeding them air from a turbocharger. I would be shocked if these engine/turbo combos go 150k without major repair. Manufacturers have few choices left for internal combustion engines because of the federal emission and MPG requirements so they must use small displacement and turbos. The ICE can only have so much done to it before we go all electric or something else. As for a gasoline engine I'll take a 90's-mid 2000's port injected but only a very few compacts and most hybrids still use port injection.
@@halc.2899 The Honda fit has a 1.5 liter engine .LOL TOO Small ... It does not heat up well up in the Winter .. Only blows hot air when car is moving ..
This is why I bought a '17 EXL. The '18 had just come out. Heard the engine was garbage and that overall it was cheaply made. Never would buy a Honda the 1st year of a new generation.
@@rickeyhall4254 True. But nowadays with all the computers and the right tolerances in engines you're going to have more than just turbo issues. Besides, everyone is going with turbos to sell cars and still be within epa standards. In my opinion I would rather go with a reliable brand like Honda than Ford or Chevy.
It is hot because it holds less oil than an 88 civic. 3.9 quarts or something hilarious like that. Better check that 0w-20 often 🤣 Very high tech brazing on the roof though he he
Jody Francum it’s crazy how it’s almost double the 💰. Honestly I would rather own a fully loaded accord for 34k than the F-sport for $48k. I will make a comparison video soon.

@@charlesjackson1700 I have been driving my 2019 ES 350 Fsport since they were updated about 1.5 years ago. As much as I like the reliability I hate the gas mileage, basic Toyota brakes and loose steering at high speeds over 80mph. Also the media interface is terrible on it! The previous generation Lexus with the junk mouse was even better than the current touch pad. And how do you like when the car decides to engage the retarded emergency brake as you are reversing and the sensors think there is a car coming even though it’s on the other side of the road or parking lot? If I was buying a $50k car for personal use I would never ever buy an ES350. May be GS Fsport with active suspension option or IS350 AWD.

Having to hold the trunk release button for a count of 2 or 3 is a safety/security feature. It is designed this way to avoid inadvertently releasing the trunk lid if the button is accidentally hit. Also, heat coming into the interior is not common on this model, and it doesn’t make any sense, unless you have your heat on with the vent directed to the footwell.
No it happens. I have a sonic turbo and heat comes in to my feet. The turbos burn so hot compared to other cars. Its crazy. I park on grass out in the country. When i drive away the grass is black or dead because of the heat
I believe we are the Guinea pigs. I like my car alot... My issues are paint chips going straight to the metal. 2500 miles in 7 months highway driving mainly garage kept. I know the refresh will fix Everything, but I couldn't wait 4 years my current car is about to fall apart.
cz luver there are other from the same year, driving on the same highways that are not experiencing chipped paint. Honda was in the news recently here in Los Angeles for people complaining about chipped paint on their vehicles.
Yes if you can afford extra $3500 package it makes sense. You will have better engine, better transmission, trunk lid open close button, keyless entry, sunroof and the driver side engine heat plate cover that will block the engine heat from coming inside the vehicle.
Accord shits on Camry. All day long... Toyota is crap and you know it. Honda is forward engineering, innovation... much more appealing, definitely better looking than any toyota. see the problem with toyota is they think they compete with Honda and they dont. Toyota competes with other soft, no noise, no feeling, brands maybe against american. toyota is soft, they always have been, if you want a car you dont feel shit in, buy a toyota.
Harambo Camry has fleet sales and the Accord doesn’t. Take away fleet sales... the Accord shits on Camry because the Accord has real buyers. Not rental companies like Camry
That 1.5L Turbo is junk. Big problems with Honda vehicles equipped with that engine. There are many reports of the CRV, Accord & Civic with the 1.5L Turbo engine leaking gas into the engine. And Honda has terrible customer service. Would not be surprised to see a class action lawsuit coming for them.
Why do people make videos of these stripped trim line cars, acting like they are entitled to all the top trim line options? Heat under the dash very common when car alarms installed incorrectly bad seal somewhere. Oh and it’s not that tough to walk 4 steps to the driver door and open the trunk.seriously??
Kind of funny the video has almost as many dislikes as likes all because you shared your honest opinion. You triggered the fan boys even though you said it was overall a great car SMH!
Any car with a 1.5 liter turbo engine is garbage and will break down prematurely. Why you ask? Well a tiny engine with a turbo which forces extra air into the pistons so they spin or move faster to generate more torque is bad than one with a bigger engine like a 2.0 or 2.5 and a v6 which already have more horsepower without the need to pump in extra air. A turbo revs at a higher rpm so you’re smart selling this before breaks down, especially being an Uber/Lyft vehicle means it doesn’t have much life left like a regular vehicle with a similar engine not used to make money.
I have this same car and HATE it, have over 139,000 miles on it. It has been nothing but problems, have had to replace all tires 7 times "known honda issue with alignment" have had fuel pump, fuel injectors, rear brake light assembly and turbo fail. oh and right at this moment I'm dealing with a possible transmission issue. Screw Honda 10th gen! I miss my 2015 accord
if you hate it so much and have so many problems, you could always get yourself a 2015 Accord.. or 2017. My 15 LX was totaled and I'm on the fence with getting a 17, 20, or Camry.
@@mootsym I think after I pay this honda off I'm going to look into Toyota, tesla, or an audi. Major price differences i know but I want something with a high mileage warranty.
Let me sum of what this guy experienced. He bought an under powered version of Accord because he wanted to save money and now he is having buyers remorse. I have read through most of his comments and he constantly mentions the higher trim version because he is sad he didn't buy one of those instead.
