actually, theyre fairly popular in America. I saw them in New York in May and it sold out quick, the venue was PACKED with people singing along and chanting.
The way they used the English lyrics was honestly kind of masterful. I don’t know Korean but I was able to pick up on a story line from only two English lines. It starts out as “She’s in the rain.” and at that point the song feels a bit hallow/empty but then it later changes to “We’re in the rain.” and they add in vocal harmonies. I haven’t looked up the translated lyrics so I’m just speculating but I deduce through the music video and song that it changes to “we” because he won’t let her go through this emotional turmoil by herself; he is there to support her. Rain in literature usually means there is some sort of conflict so that’s the main reason why I believe this. (Also I don’t study film making or anything like that but I think the soft dream like transitions represent how he sees her: pure and beautiful. The glitch like transitions could represent the emotional struggle she is going though) This is a really beautiful and emotional song. They really wowed me with this.
I feel as if the glitches connected with the lyrics: 'Do you hear me?' Because it seems as if the connection between the guy and the girl is weak, like the glitches which is why he's asking the question. Everything in the song and MV serves a purpose and I love that. I appreciate The Rose for making me feel a certain way
Has anyone else noticed that the polaroids in a few shots in the mv are instagram posts of Jonghyun? I recognized the pictures when I saw the mv. and I think it’s beautiful how subtly they put that in the mv and like pay tribute subtly but beautifully
They actually deleted the video because of that. Some Shawols thought it was insensitive and The Rose didn't actually know that they were from his Instagram, so they themselves requested for it to be taken down so it wouldn't upset people.
This is about suicide right? Or about suicidal thoughts. Dead poets society kinda clues you in and the rain metaphor. This is amazing. I love them. They’re so talented. I can appreciate Day6 for their style and The Rose is different and I love their style. Both singers timbre is different but beautiful. I missed The Rose last time they came to my city and I’m going to miss Day6 bc it freakin sold out too fast but I will NOT miss The Rose next time they come. I won’t.
I recommend you to listen to the album. “I don’t know you” is about someone falling in love. “She’s in the rain” is about that girl falling in a depression and him telling her that it’s ok and that he’ll be there with her. “Take me down” shows how he feels himself sinking and his heart almost turning black because of their relationship, but he seems fine with it. “Insomnia” is absolutely the most heartbreaking one. Based on the lyrics it looks like the girl committed suicide and he doesn’t know how to move on. FYI this is just my theory, don’t @ me.

ohhh i liked this really technical review of this mv, because these were things that i saw too, but didnt really notice like that. The thing that really stuck out to me though was the story line between the boy and the girl and how that connected with the lyrics (or what i understood of the lyrics at least, lol). I got this feeling like the boy was chasing after the girl, because he thinks she's wonderful and admires her (symbolised by the camera), but she keeps him at a distance, because she's hurting ("in the rain"). In the end though he takes of her headphones, stopping her from isolating herself, and instead being in the rain with her, both literally and metaphorically, in the end making it "we're in the rain". haha so yeah, i guess this mv just has a LOT of depth :)))
I don't know why, but it's kinda satisfactory when you're so pleased with the edition of the music video. Maybe because I work with color too, but when you point out some of the aspects of the colourization I'm so satisfied and you spread me that pleasure. I love your explanations

Honestly The Rose is so underrated, their videos are always so nice and the songs are so amazing, just the meaning behind it all and how the MV just connects everything. I just love them~
i like watching reactions of producers, vocal coaches, and dancers, because they point out things that other people would probably not notice which makes it cool. I didn't even notice that the base glided with Woosung's voice in the chorus, I only noticed it when he pointed it out.

i had a feeling you would love the mv! i cried watching it the first time because even without knowing the lyrics/only getting a small bit of context from the english lyrics it made me so emotional, and i think the video was beautifully shot as well. like you said i really like how they went to a frequently used set and made it seem completely different. i dont think ive ever seen the stairs in that building before and they look really cool!

I am so proud of these boys and I don't think I can ever leave them. They have such a nostalgic and emotional vibe that makes me feel things. They have this aura of genuine music and compassion for the craft. They are wonderful boy and I love them so much.
I think I understand what you're talking about in terms of concerts. Bands are usually a more intense experience than any boy group or girl group. You focus more on the music than on the visuals ;-) I used to go to concerts a lot, whether in a small club or a big concert hall. When I was at the Dreamcatcher concert in February it was a bit different because I was more interested about the choreo than their visuals (we all know they are beautiful). In November I visit a Japanese rock group (Band-Maid) and I already know that it will be great. You should have a listen. Of course there are exceptions. Recently I saw the video from Cody & Wyatt about the Twice concert. The same will probably be true for SNSD. But what would really interest me even more would be Bolbbalgan4. I would really like to see them (+band) live.

what i like about the rain touch is that it's almost impossible to see rain and don't remember smells, rain and smells just go in tandem, or even associate it with memories, and brings a lot more feelings and stuff to the song that we listeners give not only what we recieve from their preformance it's way too good overall
