I have those same 56mm chrome clouds. I think they're an excellent wheel for rough streets or people with injuries, arthritis or other chronic pain conditions! They would have been a dream wheel for me when we had no skateparks as a kid 20 yrs ago. Also an ideal wheel for winter and cold climates like ours here in Ireland. Nice review!

Great review. It's amazing the amount of r&d it takes to make a great wheel. I had a try of the 92a cloud and loved the feel and was impressed with them. Great to see them preform in extra crusty conditions.

wow, did not expect a 92A duro to work that well on a curb or sound like that on the powerslide - might have to pick some up if i can kick my formula 4 addiction

They surprised me too. The cored are my personal pick at this stage to be honest. Thanks for the comment.

So what's the difference between the chrome cored version and the non chrome cored version? How do they skate/perform differently? Ricta doesn't state anywhere if there's benefits to the cored vs. the non-cored

thanks for the question. the only real difference I found was the sound; The chrome cores seem to sound a little more 'hard wheel' like, but the feel, response and wear are no different.

Have you already tried the Powell dragons? To.me.they are the best blend of hard street wheel and a softer hybrid, that rides over anything. Rictas are a bit softer and nicer on the feet when it gets real rough, but I prefer the dragons, since they outperform the rictas as a street wheel. Slide better, bounce less and never flatspot.

I did try the Dragons and did like them, but couldn’t get used to the soft wheel sound and also found it hard to lock in on grinds. Thanks for the comment

I had heard murmurings about the Dragons not being entirely as revolutionizing as they were made out to be and would hear Ricta Clouds being brought up in those discussions as sort of a ’like for like’ wheel. I haven’t tried the Rictas but I did end up buying the Dragons. I did have experience riding OJ Nomads and OJ Keyframes to compare with and to me the Dragons felt more like and rather similar to the Keyframes (86A) in how they cushioned the ride and more like the Nomads (95A) in terms of slide although they did feel like they slid better on anything bar the smoothest of surfaces. Overall I was left impressed by the Dragons but it’s nice to hear that there are viable alternatives. Not a big fan of Powell Peralta as a brand and truth be told if there was another wheel out there that was on par I’d rather give another company my money. Now Spitfire seem to be coming out with 93As as well and I’m likely to give them a try.

Thanks for the comment. I like that the Ricta Couds come in variety of duros too, and did find the Dragons a little more cushioning but couldn’t deal with not locking in and the sound (or lack of). I’ll probably give the new Spitfire formula a try down the line but am very happy switching between OJ Elites and the Ricta Clouds.

How about the slide compared to the dragons? Do they actually slide better than them?? I had the 86a clouds before, and they were sticky as all hell... They did not ride as fast as what I though 86a should, either. I'm really curious about the 92a's after your video.

So the slide isn’t quite as good as the dragons, but they definitely slide better than the OJ Nomads. If I’m sliding reverts out of tricks, I noticed I have to put a little more behind the slide to get around. Hope that helps.
