Found this by accident. Really excellent. Both Heidegger and Holderlin are Zen thinkers, in my view. Many disagree.

"I found this an eloquent lecture. But, respectfully, I think also of JAMA Network "It's over, Debbie" (JAMA. 1988;259(2):272. doi:10.1001/jama.259.2.272). How to comprehend both together?

Frumos.

50 years ago I was enraptured with Holderlin also. Powerful gerunds and participals. But even in my foolishness their over-use was showing. Shakespeare (De Vere actually if you want to understand him properly) never made the error. Direct sentences are best even with metaphors and subjunctives tacked on. Action through words. Not long ago listening to Hubert Dreyfuss I believed Heidegger had weltanshuang and phenomenology best for understanding why LLMs / AI worked. But now, not so much. Read CS Peirce first and foremost. Not on the first try but find the greater gleaming there. More general than the Romantic autumnal glow of Holderlin and Heidegger.

This video is about a person taking about a person talking about a person talking about an instance of philosophical minutiae. And people wonder why philosophy goes nowhere.
