Just found out about you guys. I'm in a leadership position for over 13 years and with the company for 24 years. My performance overall is at the top of the list in the entire retail business. The corporate heads found out about me from the fiscal year end Profits and Loss data sheet which ranked on the top of the list that only they can see. I did not know that I was considerably higher than the manager second down below me. Now, they ask me to do a 30-40 minute presentation on my organized department and how I execute my plans. I have to do this in front of my VP, COO, CEO, and other guess along with 50 managers. I'm terrified! Last speech I've done was in high school back in the late 90s and I choked. Its not anxiety, more like a fear. I have a month from this day for the upcoming presentation. Watching these videos is helping me a lot. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Maybe the fear is because you think a lot about how they will consider your performance, for this reason I suggest you focus on the presentation at all. When you focus in the mission you capture their atension and put into the presentation and at the same time you feel more confortable to speak, even if you mistake something everybody in the meeting will not consider. When we believe in what we are teaching/presenting the energy goals to the massege and not to us.
I have no words to thank you so much so that I am glad . From every aspect, dialogues in this video was so beneficial to me. Not only dıd I learn a new pattern of speaking but also figured out how to become a leaders way of speaking. Thank you for putting your effort in improving our English Thanks ever so much again Lisa ❤❤❤
Bonjour Lisa !!!
I am grateful for watching this fabulous video. This is what I've concerned these days. From now on, I am able to speak moe like a leader. Thank you for putting in a lot of effort and love. 👍😃
WOW! This lesson taught me some practical tips in English language, Leadership, Psychology, Sociology, and Anthropology at the same time! Thank You! 👌👍
Interesting, I always thought that "Do you know what I mean?" brings clarity to the conversation, I will try to use the proposed alternative and see what happens :D thanks for the tips!
Lisa understands some of people say Sorry instead of thank you. I totally understand it. Because In my country Japan, people say Sorry instead of Thank you. And the word exists which has too meanings “Thank you” and “Sorry” In my culture, apologize is most important part of communication. We have to change our behavior if we want to work with American.
Thank you!. Now I understand the way of communication in English better. Many times I thought why sound “he/she is a little arrogant”, but with this video I understand that there are cultural differences and confident communication, thank you very much!….grest tips!
Thank you for putting extra effort to improve our conversation. Teacher Lisa, I anticipated a good out come in 2000. I'd like to know your thoughts on that.❤❤❤❤❤
This is awesome. I have been using all the lack of confident sentences. Thank you for guiding me on how to change my words and become more confident. Dear Lisa and Alex. I am truly grateful😃
Sure. I will watch and listen to it more than one time. It is a very important lesson to learn from. I really enjoyed this interview with your guest! Thanks from my ❤️ for you both!
Well there may as well be differences based on culture, but over-apologising may be perceived weird in Italy as well. When somebody over apologises they often come across as not exactly sincere people.
Hi Lisa , excellent lesson as always . I appreciate the time an interest you take to show and teach us this kind of outstanding video my best regards .
Thanks a lot for this great channel. I have learned a lot from you. Last week my boss told me he has started to work on his English knowledge. I told him about you and sent him one of your links. Warm regards from Germany 💐👋🏻
