Thank you for this information !!! I've had a bearcat for years. It's been packed up for at least 15 years and forgot how to use it. Your information brought it all back to memory. Thanks for sharing !! 👍
Helpful for doing it manually.. I was looking for help with uploading frequencies via USB .. I think I got it, but not picking up much yet. I'm still getting familiar with my new Whistler 1040.. thanks for posting the video. Scanning is a great hobby!
first day at this, i bought a ws1040 hand held question when batteries are in unit and i use the ac power adapter, will it override the batteries or should i take them out ?????thanks
+K4DPS ...I've heard of scanners that you just put your Zip code in, and they fill with frequencies themselves. Do you know which ones? Can you make a recommendation? Thank you.
I manually put my frequencies in but they are not working!!but they work on my laptop through wifi broadcastfiy and police app ! could this be because Wichita Kansas Sedgwick county is analog
What is a "control frequency"? my county has eight of them. Do I enter all of them? I am using ARC-XT for my BCD396xt and I am very confused because when I enter just the frequencies I do not pick up anything. KNT4176 -(My old CB License from the 70')
I'm a newb. Bought a used Bearcat 245. I live in Orange County, CA. Trying to figure out how to scan a trunked system (OC Sheriff) and I'm having a difficult time. It's not listed simply by frequencies. I'm getting a lot of 5 digit numbers and can't decode them to plug them in as frequencies.
i cant get my scanner to do any of that the prog button does nothing infact the only buttons that respond are man, scan, and keylock its a radio shack pro-91 and i have no idea what im doing send help
Some scanners only display 6 numbers even though some freqs are 7 numbers. In my experience, the scanner will usually still pick up the freq even though you only entered the first 6 numbers. I have a 25 year old scanner that still works and it only accepts 6 digits. I'm monitoring a 7 digit channel with it and it works very well.
Email me and i will instruct you on programming and with frequencies if you still need help. Retired firefighter 26 years and into scanners. Mcrjr51@gmail.com.
Maybe some of you radio enthusiastic can help me out with this question. I work at a prison and our main prison is on Channel 1 but where I typically work which is that the Work Release Center we are on channel 4. My question is when you change channels are you tuning into a different frequency or are you going to a different part of the original frequency?
@@loganlongman4996 i am very late but if you have an analog scanner it will not work on some frequencies, you will need a digital scanner for some of them
