WAD is Hub-styled (similar as it was in Quake II), it means that you can have different exits during the playthrough, same with different starting points. Even a first map has already a choice for player - you want to break through familiar looking Storage Area or through the Office Complex full of enemies? The mappack is styled on the second episode from The Ultimate Doom, called The Shores of Hell, it takes place on the Deimos Moon like in Ultimate Doom. The levels are much bigger than previously and in my opinion such levels as Storage Area with almost 500 monsters are way too much to endure. Maps can become difficult, there are lots of situations where demons suddenly teleport in proximity of you, and in case of Project Brutality, watch out for Scientists. These crazy Scientists with Fire Axes anc Chainsaws are really fearsome, they can leap at you, do not fall down so easily and their melee damage is insane. Because Darkmoon Alpha needs DOOM2.WAD to be run, you can see Doom 2 monsters here, so... expect Pain Elementals, Revenants and Hell Knights on Deimos Moon ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). The mappack is currently at an alpha stage, it was released few months ago in 2019, we still have to wait for a full version of it :).
it also looks like the maps been given a bit 'organic' layout....lees a labyrinth or gauntlet for the player and actually giving a slight sensation of some sort of base and that..instead of just an abstract shapes puzzle with acid... then agen.Brutal doom ,or project brutality.... i take either of those anyday over doom eternal , specially with the maps thats lees 'arena' and more just 'heres an organic area layout..have fun..and try survive'' ^^
I love how this mod gives the possessed soldiers your fighting more personality. I laughed when I heard the guy with the shield yell "Humans suck!" at 7:59
I like that they have so much variety. Even in the original unmodded Doom game, the zombies had more varied gear than they do in Doom 2016 or Doom Eternal. It would have been nice if those zombies used some of the same equipment that the Slayer did, but here in Brutal Doom, that's exactly what they do. Also, not to be a stickler, but I'm pretty sure that guy was actually trying to say "Human sighted!" And Doomguy just cut him off.
Can't wait. I've been playing the current Project Brutality and it is awesome. I'm loving some of these weapons I am seeing I hope they making into the release.
very amazing detail of the maps without using assets from doom 2 wad and that new chainsaw zombie looks great too but i insist that p4in should add to the chainsaw fuel as ammo now that we have the fireaxe as the 2nd alternate melee weapon, i mean that saw its already damn op to kill barons with the alternate attack, EDIT: OOF the grenade launcher has new sprites and are delicious, love it
Personally, I don't really like the idea of chainsaw fuel, if you take a look at how Brutal Doom 64 did it you may get my point. But yeah the new update is really good, and thanks for liking the new Super Grenade Launcher. The Weapon Special wheel takes time to get used to, but once you do it opens a whole lot more opportunities for Project Brutality. Also, how do you like the new sprites for the ejected Shotgun shell, pistol, rifle, and grenade shell casings? I personally love them, artist Metalman did an amazing job on them (although voxel developer D3X1K AXYZ helped Metalman with the pistol casings). The ejected casings were hand-drawn from scratch.
Moon, Alpha - Imagine if this game were occurring on Earth's Moon as it was blasting away from Earth in the opening episode of Space:1999 and then you learn Earth did it all deliberately to push away the demon outbreak.
to think that these fucking amazing ppl are still working on DOOM mods some 25+ years later is truly freaking awesome =] ; honestly modern game devs are struggling to keep up with the innovation bleeding from the pores of stuff like this XD ; absolutely LUV the redesigned maps to actually resemble the facilities instead of just game/map/levels , just outstanding level design ; and while of course the 2016 OST is great, the OG OST was not bad either =]
This is by far one of the best maps I've ever seen. Also the best mod. At one point I saw you dodge an incoming rocket, it detonated near a zombie with a riot shield, knocked him flat. He was in the process of standing back up when you gave him explosive shotgun shell to the face. Amazing mechanics.
DOOM 2016 OST really doesn't fit. It's thougth te be dynamic music, it has to match the in-game situation. Makes no sense to play the soundtrack like that, doesn't work.
It's a mod for Doom 1/2,however it's a REALLY big mod,I dunno if it will work on DOS(However,you can test if the mod works on DOS,maybe it will work),but I recommend to use GZDoom to play it.
What kind of a retarded question is that? The old games are very different from the new ones.neither truly replaces the other.the old doom is still the best in its own gameplay style.doom eternal plays a lot more like a quake than original doom.
actually with mods the old games play much better. PB in particular is more satifying. But you sound like the type to say "wHaT aBoUt GrAfix!?" so...no helping ya
Wait I thought the doom engine couldn't have overpasses that you can walk on and have enemies directly below you. Like stacked platforms where there's a guy directly under you. Did they modify the engine at that level? I've never seen a level do this to date.
the GZDoom engine is modified as hell. look at brutal doom, SGTMark managed to add tanks, destructible glass, and even trees and high grass. it's THAT modified
The newest versions of PB 3.0 have new voices for certain Zombiemen and Sergeant variants, the Zombie voices are actually done by one of the PB team's in-house voice actors, George (VA). Basically, the zombie voices are original. If you see him on Discord just say hello to him if you want.
Man I think my potato pc won't run Project Brutality but in the future once I have a decent Gaming PC part built I think I might get the new Doom Eternal and get both the Original, Doom II and probably Doom 3 and also again Doom 2016 to follow up the lore of the Doom series
@@jasonmartinez5116 I already tried out LZDoom and it was very impressive. I played SOME of the mods I have on LZDoom one of which is Brutal Doom, Ashes 2063 (I tried Ashes on the ZDoom sourceport but did not work), Doom the Golden Souls, Demonsteele, and lastly MetaDoom however, for MetaDoom, LZDoom would not work the new version of MetaDoom but I'm pretty sure if the dev who created MetaDoom would most likely add it to LZDoom or a alternative version. So ya tried out LZDoom and it surprisingly impressive and also I got GZDoom just in case.
Project Brutality started as a amazing retexture and new moves and monsters to Brutal Doom, now looks like a compilation of "Russian Overkill, Ketchup v5 Gore Mod and Brutal doom mosnter only "... sad . But the levels on dark moon are amazing .
Mixing multiple musics for each occasion is the proper way to go and respecting the timeline when Doomguy first entered hell through Phobos - I thumb up for all that. But then you can double jump and grab ledges, and glorykill without berserker, that's illegal. Doomguy only had those powers after the Seraphin's blessings. I would suggest the Brutality guys to leave DOOM 2016 out of that awesome project.
@@MartinozYT i downloaded the mod in 2019 and read the topic doomworld post on that time the creators Say don't recomend use mods is a total conversión so not only played original also pass on max difficulty 2 times because the game have multiple exit depend on what exit you take you start the other level on a different place making a whole new experience So when I say don't recommend use mods is not for nothing is because I played that wad What sanitized mean Edit the original mode is more creepy and the reload weapon is really make you think strategy also shotgun plasma rocket the chaingunner machine gun are slower machine gun is slow reload chaingun is slow to fire playing that on fast mode monster is very hard and make the ambient more creepy and you fells imponent ..the pistol is very useful to make sniping ... Is a very good pleasant experience that is how doom 3 should have done .... Instead we have a bad doom 3 .... Feel like doom 3/64 mixed experience
