His Point starts off straight-forward, kinda predictable set-play, decent at combos but easily crumbles to pressure. Then Her Anchor switches in, and it's a whole different fighting game where you're getting mixed left/right high/low strike/throw and you can't find the gaps, then every once in a while His Point comes in on assist and just hits the taunt to dance on screen.

The difference is those are abbreviations - they're fine because we know what the letters stand for, and they people type about the game faster. As an actual name they'd be terrible.

No one pronounces them "Sphix 6" or "Cough 15" though.

It feels so long because they were giving updates during when the game was still a concept till now. So we got to see it SUPER early. That's a rare thing in game developing for large titles where we get dev blogs/updates as the game is being made.

I've watched enough anime to know that an X in the middle of a name is always silent, so it's called '2KO!'

I learnt enough math in high school to know that "2" next to "XKO" multiplies the latter. So it is called "XKO + XKO" (the plus isn't silent).

@@MUGENanaya You're not wrong, "microtransaction" is perhaps a more correct term, but just because it's a free to play model, doesn't mean we'll get all the later champions for free. Assuming it works similarly to LoL, we'll have to purchase post-release characters and, while Blue Essence is a thing, I'm sure prices in both LoL currencies are determined assuming most people probably aren't going to spend Blue Essence on characters.

@@Ketsuekisan I was expecting something akin to microtransactions and such. Just a terminology thing, haha. If all else the closest thing to a usual fighting game they could do is bundles of characters that are called "seasons" a la usual fighting game seasons. Otherwise they could just do the gradual additions like they do with live service, which wouldn't surprise me. Look, as long as we get Blitz and Zeri, I'm only spending money twice and that's it.

I guess it just sounds too generic. Then again, so does "League of Legends", but they could've gone for a simple title that indicates some correlation to that game, because it would absolutely be better for marketing.

Because if you abbreviate Double Knockdown its DKO but there is one game called Divine Knockout so not confusing although it was confusing

I'm not the most knowledgeable fighting game guy, but probably another 2D tag-team game like Marvel v Capcom or Dragonball FighterZ.

It's a dyslexic's worst nightmare. Couple of people called it 2KXO on accident and GameSpot posted the video as 2KXO until they corrected it. This name suuuuuucks

I think it's just too generic. It sounds like it could be literally any fighting game. It also doesn't roll off the tongue well and there's no real good way to shorten it since it's already essentially an acronym.

If the name was league related, search results would funnel you to league instead of the fighting game
