@@ChristopherDeDecker definitely agree. Your form shouldn't change when you put on a belt. The belt just give you something to brace your core against. I had a great coach always tell me when you go to brace your core before you squat, flex against it and basically try to break the belt. It helps alot.
I always had a double prong and i can say that it's not that hard getting it off after a set , i say that cuz everyone says that it's very hard but it's actually not , at least for me
Im really torn between a lever and a prong still! I never really bloat and only ever lean bulk or maintain (naturally quite skinny) and I'm investing for a belt extremely long term to help my lower back as I'm a dancer and can't get injured, what would you recommend?
Belts are definitely an essential when you start to really lift heavy. But, it’s very important that you only use a belt after you have perfected your form on the lift.
Agreed, 10mm is the best route. Too small, and you can’t efficiently use it to brace your core during your heavy lifts. Likewise with it being too thick. 10mm is what I use when I lift heavy.
@@toxicgael6266 i got it yesterday so I havent used it alot and its my first belt so I still have to get used to it. The quality of pioneer is amazing tho, great belt in that way.
Ok.. But what if you do power movement like, dead’s, squat, leg press. And then also you use it something on chest, shoulder raises, shoulder presses, bent over rows, seated rows, rear delt flys and even sometime biceps. Example I’m a bodybuilder. Not powerlifer but I do a lot power moments, hypertrophy, and endurance workouts none stop volume sets. We’re sometime my core or lower back needs the support to keep adding to the volume of my set. I’m 195. 10%-15% body fat Plus I cycle and compete. I take everything pretty serious, I used the belt at my gym but I want my own. I went and bought the Rebox lifters 2.0 shoes love them but I can’t wear them all the time, can even always do legs in them all the time because there ment for heavy squats. And etc… So I’m not looking for the same thing to happen. Where now I have 4 different types of shoes. Because I also run. I was thinking/ the one I use know is not a latch belt. So I’d get prong but I really like how the latch looks and how it is to get off. Very worried about the bent over rows, rear delt , flys and weird bent over bodybuilding exercises and comfortability as while as it being to tight with the latch belt. -joey2cold4fitness Instagram see picture how I lift. I’m more on volume. Then progressive overload or hypertrophy but I do it quite often depends on cycle/deit/train routine
So sorry for the late reply/ 4 months late! Using a belt is very efficient with bodybuilding because you guys typically and consistently load heavy weights week long. However, there is a huge tendency to forget about core altogether and experience abdominal bloating/blowout due to using the belt too much and not using your core. I think using the belt on OH movements, and legs are important. But, if you can, I would recommend not suing the belt in the other movements, unless you become way too fatigued. Perhaps start without the belt on BOW, then procesed to use it as your core fails. Then, you are kind of hitting all the good marks.
In my opinion, belts in general are for powerlifters or body builders. Ever see an average Joe bench with a belt? Don’t do that. Using a false sense of security instead of your actually core can be dangerous.
