Hi! I'm a mildy plant-obsessed hobbyist from sunny Singapore and loves watering my green babies and poking my fingers into the soil.
In this video, I propagated my variegated Epipremnum Pinnatum and the cuttings were placed in water, pumice, sphagnum moss and directly into potting soil. I also provide some updates on their growth.
If you are into houseplants, do join me in this ride of checking in of my plants every 10 minutes and peeking at the undersides of their leaves obsessively 😅

THANK YOU! You’re the first person I have seen who has done a video showing proposition of an epipremnum pinnatum and given an update on the regrowth of not only the cuttings but the Mother plant as well! Plus all the different growing mediums. Awesome! Soo informative and helpful. Thank you for posting this video.😍

Thanks for your sharing. It's very helpful to me. Currently, my Epipremnum Pinnatum variegata is root rot. After cutting off all the rot roots, I just think of how to propagate it. Then I see your video on RU-vid. I will try to put it in the water for propagation. Hopefully, it still can survive. God bless....

Oh man. Sorry to hear that. But no worries, it roots really fast in water. Adding some root booster would help. You will have a full plant in no time! All the best :)

@@guywithaplant , Ya. Too bad I can't share my photo here. Seems like you can read my mind. I am using the root booster for it right now. Haha... Thanks for your wishing. I hope can learn more planting knowledge from you. Thanks for your video tutorial as well.

Hi. My plant now grow very healthy after it grow out the new roots in the water. Now I am using self watering pot for it.

The cutting propagated in pumice is the most successful one. but you put a bowl of water underneath the box where you keep the pumice and the cutting. So actually the box is not filled with water and the water is underneath the box without touching the bottom of the box? Is that correct? Thanks
@guywithaplant
@guywithaplant 3 года назад
Yes the one in pumice sits on top of a cup of water as the pumice itself dries out too fast. There is no water in the pumice itself. So is that considered water propagation? 🤔 Sphagnum moss is the least effective for me. But overall, Epipremnum Pinnatum cuttings root pretty easily. 🙂

@@guywithaplant yeah it’s really good experiment! Thanks! I will try pumice with a bowl of water underneath next time when propagating!

Do you change the water out every so often ? My top cutting with no roots are coming soon ! I'm kinda freaking out a little bit lol.
@guywithaplant
@guywithaplant 2 года назад
I actually don't really change the water but just top it up every week or so. Occasionally, I may change half of the water. I also add a little root booster (but not necessary). It seems to help if I add more cuttings into a single container rather than single cutting. In my experience, epipremnum pinnatum cuttings root pretty easily. But give it a chance, I'm sure it will root soon 🙂

That part ! I've literally been through a hundred videos and you actually mentioned the rooting powder. I want to use it but didn't know if It would work with water propagation. I feel like it would wash it off as soon as you dip it ? You have been the most precise and helpful !

Oh mine isn't a powder but in liquid form. I got it locally and it's called Liquid Gold.

Does the white dies in the leaves? Like other albo plants? Or do they stay
@guywithaplant
@guywithaplant 2 года назад
Some of the white parts do turn brown, especially if they don't even bright light. But I do have some partial white leaves that remain intact.

What is the best way to root the Epipremnum Pinnatum Variegata Cutting?
@guywithaplant
@guywithaplant 2 года назад
In my experience, water is the best and easiest way of rooting Epipremnum pinnatum variegata cuttings. They root really fast. A good way is to place several cuttings into the same container to encourage rooting. The next best medium is pumice.
