If I followed correctly, Thomas approved the 'Pure Protein' bar, the 'Quest' cookie and the 'Slimfast keto fat bomb'. I was taking notes, but I might have made a mistake somewhere.
be careful a lot of pure protein bar flavours still include maltitol. i had these excruciating abdominal pain for the past week that made me scrunch on my bed in agony. i’m feeling a lot better now after cutting out the pure protein bars that contains maltitol
@@acapellaseto 4:02 correct me if I’m wrong but the one he approved in the video looked like it didn’t have Maltitol in it (this is the “pure protein” box so don’t pay attention to the “Metrics bar” in the white letters on the screen.
Thomas should consider branding his own protein bar. Compete with the companies with an affordable bar that hits his ideal and create a competitive market for them to meet.
As of right now the views number is 21k .So imagine if just 5 percent of viewers buy that approved protein bar, that's 1000 sales. Imagine if voews reaches to million views, and the ones that have purchased already will buy again. I'd say if they sponsor Thomas, even if they have to pay a hefty amount, they're gonna get their money back in no time. I have to say,Thomas deserves one big ass cheque from sponsors.
Hey Thomas! Just wanted to say thanks for doing videos like this. I like the ingredient breakdowns because it helps me pick products you might not address directly.
Spot on. They're all full of shite, some more than others. I'm surprised that after watching a lot of this guy's videos that he's even reviewing/recommending them at all!
I would like to see you work with one of these companies to make the "perfect" Keto bar! I have issues with a lot of these you've mentioned, so I just eat beef sticks!
wow I had no idea about the different types of protein on these bars. So many just assume all protein bars are healthy because of the word protein in the label. This is so important to share.
im so happy u looked at those slim fast keto bars. i started buying them occasionally about 4-6 months ago and felt like i was doing something wrong. happy u corroborated my purchases. they are pretty freakin good and really not that bad, taking all things into account.
With the Quest bars, it matters which flavor you choose to avoid the sucralose. I have found the Double Chocolate Chunk has erythritol and stevia, no sucralose.
I love met rx bars. I have them as a meal replacement at work for lunch. 1.76 for lunch us pretty darn good. Not keto but damn delicious. 30g protein. 400 calories. Keeps me full till dinner.
True, but sometimes when you're on the go and you want a protein boost, keeping a hardboiled egg in your gym bag or glove compartment might have a drawback. I had a thought of giving myself a keto treat, while not straying far off the path, when I got to the store I had a similar experience as Thomas. I also wound up getting a Quest cookie, and tbh it was like eating a clump of dirt. My go to keto treat is a protein drink, but it gets old.
@@terrythompson2743 protien drinks usually have very little protien. They get caught all the time lying on the lable. It got so bad Thet found several powders that had ZERO protien. For Gods sake I take meat to the gym if om not coming back home. It wont spoil. Heat from a for car makes it taste better.
@@kungfukennyaintnobodyprayi347 I do not eat protien bars or drink shakes. I eat meat only. Mostly beef. Add eggs, butter and fish. I get all the nutrients I need. 66 years old 210 pounds 12% bodyfat and can outlift most men in their 30s. Stopmessing with crap and eat meat for Gods sake.
The quest cookies are my go to for a snack on keto. 4 net carbs, no soy, 1 gram of sugar. I never consume anything with soy in it, that's a big no-no for men.
I often use the names of the Protein Bars to remind me they have Maltitol or something that gives me the Farts... like ugh that "One" time I got gas from this bar, or I "Think!" that one have me gas too, or oh man that bar was like a "Grenade" in my bowels lol
I always love the content, especially the science-focused and grocery haul episodes. Think bars have always been...lacking, but I was wondering what you think about the Think Keto peanut butter bar (aside from the necessary peanuts). They taste like a really decent candy bar, and I thought they looked ok, but would be grateful for your input.
When I had a sweet tooth I used to have 1 Quest bar every day, and I DIDN'T loose weight even though I was on KETO. That was six months ago, and I lost my sweet tooth and only eat real food now. No sweeteners at all, and I have lost 45lb so far!! Another 20lb less I will be wearing "Men's Medium" size for the first time since I was in the Army 23 years ago...
Fit Crunch is pure decadence. One of the best tasting bars out there and they are huge in size too. I do the Costco Kirkland bars. Reading the ingredients, not bad.
They don't sell this one at Walmart, but "think! Chocolate Mint" is the best. It's all plant based protein (pea protein, brown rice protein, pumpkin protein). Only 5 grams of sugar, which is decent for most people, I would think.
Just stay away from the “Garbage Aisle”. Chicken, Steak, Salmon, Eggs, etc. will get the necessary grams needed in day, depending on what your goals are. Eat real food!
Can't be normal beef, fish or eggs they have to have been bred for ages and massaged by Tibetan monks for 10 years while being fed grass that has been grown on soil that has been treated with god's tears. the eggs have to have been hatched by non GMO gluten free chickens that are vegan and keto friendly and also know 2 languages. the salmon needs to be from water that is crystal clear full of electrolytes that have been caught on a tuesday at exactly 10am and are non gmo then they'd be thomas approved
I always had success with three to four day fasting until soy lecithin showed up in my green tea. Soy lecithin inhibited by ability to loose weight during my fasting. Thank you Thomas.❤️
Question? So I used to eat the cookies all the time when doing keto. However, if someone was not on a keto diet, but was simply doing a diet based on a small or moderate caloric deficit, do you really think the cookie is better than the bar? You point out the sucralose, but it was one of the last ingredients. There was less of it than even the other two sweeteners of erythritol and stevia. I can't imagine that a tiny amount of sucralose makes it a worse choice than the cookie. Especially when you are saving around a hundred calories and gaining 6 grams of protein. I understand health is more than macros, but I just don't see that small amount of sucralose being the deal-breaker.
The Built Bar has good macros at 17 grams protein per 130 calories / 20g carbs / 2.5 g fat / 5 g fiber. They're made with a blend of whey isolate and partially hydrolyzed whey isolate. Downsides: not best tasting, contains natural flavors
Quest does have a few bars that are sweetened with only stevia and erythritol, no sucralose. Double chocolate chunk, chocolate peanut butter, cinnamon roll, doughnut... I try to stick to those ones!
I wish you had grabbed the Quest Double Chocolate Chunk bar (top left shelf) as it is much more keto friendly as well as reviewed the Think Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie Keto Protein Bars. I think (hope) both are cleaner and better than those you reviewed in this video.
Looks like I won't be getting any protein bars. Are there any brands which are totally clean? Does SunWarriors make any? ( There was a reference to one on their site, but no products I could find.)
Please review barebells. From what you noted in the video, the ingredients appear not to be terrible, but would love a detailed review. I get mine from Trader Joe’s . Love the content of your channel!!!
dying for his review haha , just found these bars and they're SO GOOD, ingredients don't look tooooo terrible but would love to hear what he thinks 🙌🏽 caramel cashew ftw 😋🥇
I'm 1 week into the Keto diet but being in England, we can't get Thrive etc. Wish we had more outlets for Keto friendly items. Had to order my monk fruit and allulose from the states. Love the vids, watched pretty much all of them 👍🏻🇬🇧
I was eating the Adkins bars for a while. My doctor takes my blood work regularly. My potassium leaves were elevated to a concerning level stopped eating Adkins bars and my potassium levels went back to normal.
I'm surprised you didn't look at the gatorade protein bars. Also this Walmart is kind of odd since normally you would find the Clif Builders Bar and the Clif 100% Whey Protein bars in this section too. Also you would find the protein cake bites from Optimum Nutrition as well.
Thomas can you please do the quest hero bars ?!?!?!?!? I heard they re different than the regular protein bars and are much more delicious. If you see this comment please do the quest hero bars
Hi Thomas, I’d really appreciate a recommendation for keto protein bars suitable for a type 1 diabetic, looking for minimum carb content but also no hidden ‘nasties’ that could cause an insulin response. Thank you, Alina
Guilty!🤷🏻♀️All of these bars, I wouldn’t try except… Quest bars. I haven’t tried the cookie version but... I love quest bars, especially eaten cold… even frozen (longer to enjoy). So many choices!! My pick? anything with chocolate chips. I can’t help it 😋
What flavors do you like? I like quest products the chocolate chip cookie and choc chip cookie dough protein bar but I'm trying to find more the birthday cake protein bar is good
